Ch 1

Kerrie sat on the couch eating from a bag of chips when the door opened and in walked her bestfriend, Jean. 'Girl, guess whose coming for a visit?' 'Who?' 'Stop being depressed about Thiago; he'll be back from Brazil soon. Anyway Nicky is coming with his band.' 'Nicky, your cousin Nicky?' 'Yea, so when they come back here to release their second CD he is gonna stop by with the other guys.' 'This should be fun. I haven't seen him since I was 16 and he broke my heart.' 'Kerrie, it was a spring fling and was 8 years ago. Plus if it wasn't for him you wouldn't be so sexually experienced.' 'Haha…your so funny. I better get ready for work.' 'Fine, he'll be here next week.' 'Nice to give me some warning.' She said walking in the bathroom and fixing her hair. 'I did; I'll let you get ready. See you after work.' 'Ok.' Jean went upstairs to her apt that was on the next floor. Kerrie was 16 when she went to Ireland for Spring Break with Jean. The girls stayed with her cousin's the Bryne's and Kerrie fell for Nicky right way. He had just broken up with his girl friend and everything happened fast. Within 2 days they were together and a day later she had lost her virginity to him. A week later the night before she was going to leave he broke the news to her; he was getting back together with his girlfriend. That had killed her but after that she had changed and hated him. When he came back to the US she went on vacation with Thiago who she had been dating since they were 20, about 4 years but had been friends since they were 18. She had went to college to became a Pharmacist and her life actually seemed perfect until that news was sprung on her.

Ch 2

A week later… Kerrie was sitting on Jean's couch waiting for Jean to pick up Westlife. Dave, Kerrie's friend/co-worker and Jean's boyfriend was joking on her. 'I can't believe she didn't tell me till last week. If I knew he was gonna come I would have went with Thiago.' 'It's good your gonna face him. Plus Thiago is gonna be back tomorrow.' 'I know.' Just then the door opened and in walked Jean. 'Hey Dave, when did you get here?' 'Right after you left.' The guys walked in after her. 'Guys this is my boyfriend, Dave and my bestfriend, Kerrie. Dave & Kerrie this is Kian, Bryan, Shane, Nicky, and Mark.' Nicky's mouth nearly hit the floor when he saw her. She had changed so much and avoided eye contact. 'The guys are gonna be here for the next few days.' Kerrie put on a fake smile and walked into the kitchen as Dave cracked up and followed her. She was leaning against the counter fuming. 'Did you see the look he gave me? That smug look!' She muttered sitting at the table. 'Ker, don't let him get to you your better then that. Just take a deep breath and show him what you did with your life.' She nodded and got up. 'Thanks, Dave.' She said hugging him and walking into the next room. Everyone was sitting on the couch and the only spot was next to Nicky. She sat next to him and moved as close to the end as she could. 'Nicky, you look nervous.' Kian said laughing. 'I'm not nervous.' He said looking at her out of the corner of his eye. 'What's up with you two? Is there something we don't know?' Bryan asked noticing how they were acting. 'Nicky didn't mention me?' She asked. 'No, please tell.' Kian said. 'Should I or would you?' She asked bitterly. 'You really don't have to-' 'But I want to. There's no need to hide it from your bandmates.' Jean and Dave stood in the doorway waiting to see what she'd do. 'I met Nicky when I was 16 and I went with Jean to Ireland for spring break. He and Georgina had broken up days before so we ended up getting together then before I left he got back together with her.' 'So you’re the girl he lost it to?' 'And vice versa.' She said smiling as he turned bright red. The guys all made comments as he turned redder.

Ch 3

She heard her cell phone and got up to answer it. 'Hello?' 'Hey hun.' 'Hey Thiago, how you doing?' 'Good, I'm on my way home.' 'I'm in Jean's apartment. I thought you were gonna be back tomorrow.' 'I couldn't wait.' 'Aww…your so sweet.' 'I'm at the door.' She ran over to the door and opened it. She clicked off her phone and jumped into his arms as they kissed. He walked in and they closed the door. 'Hey Thiago, back so soon?' Dave asked. 'Yea, how could I stay away and leave my girl here.' He said putting an arm around her shoulder. 'Everyone this is my boyfriend, Thiago. This is Mark, Bryan, Kian, Shane, and Nicky.' He gave her a questioning look and she nodded. He sat where she was sitting and pulled her on his lap. 'How was Brazil?' 'Ok.' 'Everyone's doing good?' 'Yea, my parents and brother said hi.' 'You guys don't have to hang around.' Dave said. 'Are you trying to get rid of us?' Kerrie said sticking out her bottom lip as they all laughed but Nicky. 'No, but I know you have to work tonight so go spend some time together.' 'I won't complain.' She said getting up. They walked to the door and down stairs. After they closed the door he spoke up. 'That is Nicky?' 'Yea.' 'I would so love to go up there and punch his face in.' 'I got him back by telling all his bandmates how much of a jerk he was.' 'He's such a jerk; how could anyone hurt someone like that.' He said hugging her and rubbing her back. 'It's all in the past. I missed you so much.' She said kissing him. 'I missed you too. I wish you came with me; you would have had so much fun.' 'I talked to my doctor. I have the test scheduled in 2 days.' 'That's great.' Kerrie's father's side had a history of having a hard time having children and she was diagnosed when she was 16. So she had finally made up her mind to have an operation so she would be able to have children without all the risks. Thiago fully supported her since he knew they were going to get married someday he was planning to ask her that night.

Ch 4

Jean just gave Dave a look and rolled her eyes when the door shut. 'What? I know that they would like to spend some time together.' 'Whatever.' She said laughing. 'He's gonna propose tonight.' He blurted out then covered his mouth. 'Seriously?' 'Yea, that's why he came home earlier. Let's pretend that I didn't tell you that.' 'Aww… that's so sweet. They are so cute.' All the guys just sat their silent. 'Nicky, are you pissed?' Kian asked trying to break the ice. 'No, why would I care? I do have a girlfriend.' He spat turning his head to look out the window. 'Don't take my head off I was just asking.' 'Sorry, she just got me pissed.' 'Why? She was just telling the truth.' Jean said defending her friend. 'Fine, defend her.' 'She's right you were an asshole and right now you are too.' She said matching his tone. 'Jean, calm down.' 'Me calm down? You are the one freaking on me.' She said taking a deep breath. 'I'm sorry she had no right to say that.' 'I think she did.' Dave piped in. 'Ok, maybe she did but she only gave her side of the story.' 'Feel free to say yours.' 'She made me out to be the bad guy and it wasn't like I planned on getting with her but it happened. I was upset about Georgina and she was there and we hit it off. I never wanted to hurt her but I did and I'm sorry.' He said quickly. 'I think someone still has a few feelings.' Bryan said as Nicky glared at him. 'Anyway…let's get off this topic and catch up on what's new.' Mark said trying to make peace. 'Yea.' Shane said. 'Jean, how did you and Dave meet?' 'Through Kerrie; they work together and have been friends since she started there when she was in school. When I got back from UNYC she hooked us up.' 'And I hooked her up with Thiago.' Dave said proudly. 'Anything new with you guys?' 'Bryan's having another baby.' Kian said patting him on the back. 'I heard that. Congrats.' 'Thanks.' They continued talking about what had recently happened and planning something for that night.

Ch 5

Kerrie was getting ready to leave when Thiago stopped her. 'After work I'll pick you up so we can get something to eat.' 'Ok.' 'I'll see yea then.' 'Bye, I love you.' 'Love you too, have fun in work.' 'Don't I always?' She said laughing and hurrying out the door. He went to work getting everything together as Dave opened the door. 'Nice to knock.' 'I knew she left so I was just checking on how's everything going?' 'Good. Do you think she'll like this ring?' He asked digging in his bag to get it. 'Shit, she'll love it. Damn that is so cool.' 'It was my mom's she was so happy when I told her I was going to ask her. How's everything with you and Jean?' 'Great; your lucky I have 2 of the guys staying at my place.' 'It's not that bad.' 'I guess, I have the joy of going club hopping with them tonight.' 'Ha! That should be fun.' 'You two should join us after you pop the question.' 'I'll let her decide. I don't think she liked being around Nicky.' 'She put him in his place, it was great.' 'He deserved it. I hope he doesn't treat his girlfriend now like that.' 'It's the same girl he was dating back then. I better get back upstairs, come up and chill if your all set.' 'Maybe in a few I just have to do a few things.' 'Ok.' Dave went back upstairs as the other decided who was going to stay where. Obviously Nicky was staying with her then Bryan and Kian while Shane and Mark were staying with Dave. After that was settled they planned which clubs they were going to. Thiago walked up the stairs and into Jean's house as Nicky shot him an icy glare. Jean pulled Thiago into the kitchen. 'How are you going to do it? The suspense is killing me.' She asked excitedly as Dave could be heard yelling something about a baseball game. 'I can't tell you. I'll let her tell you if we go clubbing with you guys tonight.' 'Come on don't make me wait.' She whined.

Ch 6

That night Kerrie finished closing the pharmacy and walked up to the front of the store. Thiago was talking to the manager, Kevin. 'You two kids get going.' They walked out the door hand in hand. He opened the door for her as they got in his car and drove to their favorite restaurant Portafino's. They were seated right away and they looked over the menu. Thiago had butterflies in his stomach as he tried to remember what he was going to say. After the water took their orders he took her hand and his fear went away. 'Kerrie, the real reason I came home was because there's something I want to ask you. For the past 4 years we've dated and grown closer together. I went to Brazil to talk to my parents about you so what I'm trying to say is will you marry me?' He asked opening the box to see the ring which was beautiful. 'Yes!' She said tears streaming down her face as they kissed. He slid the ring on her finger. 'I was so scared that Dave was going to tell you.' 'I'm surprised he didn't.' 'Me too, after this do you want to meet them downtown?' 'Yea, that'll be fun.' She said smiling. After they ate they drove back to Charlestown and got the train into Boston. They met them at Avalon and as she told Jean the girls hugged and Jean started freaking out as she looked at the ring. Everyone congratulated them except Nicky who kept to himself. They went inside and Dave bought drinks for everyone as they gathered around a table to talk.

Ch 7

'Thiago, no offense but it took you long enough.' Jean said still looking at the ring. 'No, it didn't take me that long. I knew I wanted to marry her the day I saw her but it took me awhile cause I was nervous and Dave wasn't helping.' 'Hey, I give good advice.' 'Not to me, maybe to everyone else.' 'Fine, Jean you better not be getting any ideas.' He said finishing his 1st beer. 'Dave, your so sensitive.' Kerrie said as Jean shot him an icy glare. 'Hey, we've only been dating for 4 months.' 'But you guys act like your married.' Thiago said laughing. 'Come on let's dance.' He said taking Kerrie's hand as they went to the dance floor. The guys despanded as Jean and Dave argued. Everyone had a good time even Nicky; when it was time to go Shane and Mark had to run to catch up with Dave who was jumping and running up and down the streets as they walked up the street. The next day Kerrie woke up in Thiago's arms and smiled at the thought of being his wife. She heard someone knocking on the door. She pulled on Thiago's shirt and hurried to answer it pulling her hair up as she walked to the door. 'Dave, what are you doing up so early?' She asked opening the door to let him in. 'Jean's pissed at me. What did I do?' 'You were nearly sober when you guys got into that argument.' 'Oh yea, sorry to interrupt.' 'Your not. I think you should apologize with flowers and breakfast in bed but don't wake her up too early. Maybe in an hour or 2.' 'Thanks.' He walked out closing the door as Kerrie got her clothes and went into the bathroom. She finished getting ready then made breakfast for Thiago who was just waking up.

Ch 8

Kerrie walked into work at 12 to see Dave grinning. 'Did it work?' 'Yea, thanks so much.' 'I wouldn't want to deal with her when she's mad.' 'Anyway, she's taking the guys site seeing then out to eat so I came in to work with my favorite person.' 'What else do you need to know?' 'Is she looking for a serious commitment?' 'I don't think so, girls tend to get jealous when one has something they don't.' Melissa the other Pharmacist said piping in. 'Ker, he asked you?' She said shocked looking at the ring as she nodded. 'I'm so happy for you. ' She said hugging her as a few other techs. took notice to the good news. Her shift seemed to fly by and after she went home. Thiago was sitting on the couch watching TV. 'Jean just called she was wondering if we wanted to go to the movies?' 'Sure.' They went up stairs to see Jean attempting to cook something. 'Hey Jean, trying to cook again?' Thiago said trying to wave the smoke out the window. 'Yea, sorry I don't have your fiancée's talent.' 'Here let me help you.' Kerrie said opening the oven as more smoke went into her face. Jean pulled out a tray that had a burnt pizza on it. 'Come on let's go to the movies and we can go for pizza after.' Jean nodded and put it in the sink. They went to the movies and after they went to a pizza place. All them seemed to be getting along but Nicky who kept to himself. Jean and Kian kept flirting up a storm while Dave tired to ignore it. After they finished eating they headed back to Jean's house and sat around drinking. Dave made an excuse to leave; Kerrie knew he was upset so she went after him. She finally caught up to him on the steps of his house.

Ch 9

'Dave, what's the matter?' 'Kian's trying to steal her from me.' 'I think she's trying to prove a point.' 'What kind of point?' 'That if you don't pay attention to her she'll go elsewhere.' 'Arr….you girls just confuse me! I think she might just be a little high matenince for me.' 'That's what makes you guys different. You guys are total opposites but are great together.' 'I really do care about her but I don't know if she feels the same.' 'Jean is always confused when it comes to dating. If you make a point that you really care about her then she'll see that.' 'Ok, I'll think about it.' 'Ok, I'll see yea lata.' 'Good luck tomorrow.' 'Thanks.' She headed back to the house and went back upstairs. The next morning Kerrie was woken up by Thiago for a change. He was showered and dressed. 'What time is it?' She mumbled pulling a pillow over her head. '10; hurry up we need to get going in a half an hour.' 'Fine.' She went to her closet and grabbed a pair of sweats and a tank top before heading into the bathroom. A few minutes later she emerged showered and dressed. Her hair was down and starting to curl; she walked into the kitchen and grabbed a large bottle of water then they headed out. The drive to the hospital was silent Kerrie sipping on the water. After they checked in the doctor came right out. 'Sir, if you don't mind could you wait out here?' 'Dr. Johnson, can't he come?' She asked and the doctor nodded. They walked down the hallway and into a room. Thiago took a seat against the wall while Kerrie hopped up on the table. 'I got your blood tests back; they are all normal so that is good. Now for this ultrasound; we just want to check and make sure everything is ok.' Kerrie nodded and laid back on the bed. She jumped as the Dr. put the jelly on her lower stomach. Thiago got up and held her hand as the doctor moved the mouse type thing over her stomach. Her mouth dropped as she froze.

Ch 10

'Dr. Johnson, what's wrong?' Kerrie asked sitting up to get a better look. 'It looks like your pregnant. See right here.' She pointed to the small figure on the screen. 'It looks to be like your about 4-5 months along. Have you been sick or eating a lot.' 'No.' 'Some women don't get these symptoms. Congratulations!' The doctor cleaned off her stomach as Thiago stood there in shock. 'I'm gonna be a dad?' He asked snapping out of his trance. 'Yes!' Kerrie said hugging him as the doctor handed them the small picture of the baby. They left the room beaming as they went back to the sectary. She made her next appointment and they headed home. Kerrie dashed up the stairs and ran into Jean's house running into Kian. 'Sorry, is Jean up?' 'Yea, what's the matter?' She ran past him and into the kitchen hugging Jean. 'I'm gonna be a mom!' She said happily as Kian stood in the door as Bryan came into the room. 'What's with the yelling?' 'You are? OMG!' They girls hugged again as Thiago walked into the room on the phone speaking Portuguese to his family. He handed the phone to Kerrie who talked to his mother then hung up. 'I have to call my parents and Kayte.' She called them and told them as Jean congratulated Thiago. When she was done she sat down next to her. 'So when did this happen?' 'We went in for the test and she said I was 4 or 5 months pregnant. I didn't even know.' Nicky walked by coming out of the bathroom. 'I'm so happy for you guys.' The phone rang and Kerrie answered it. 'Hello?' 'Hey Ker, can I talk to Jean?' 'Yea after I tell you the good news.' 'What is it?' 'Thiago and I are having a baby?' 'When did this happen?' 'I just found out when I went to get the test done.' 'Congrats.' 'Thanks, here's Jean.' She handed her the phone as Jean walked into the other room. Nicky was laying on the couch and thought that he should try to let this grudge die.

Ch 11 (gp)

Jean walked out of the room with tears streaming down her face as she threw the phone against the wall. She stormed out of the room and into her bed room slamming the door. Kerrie picked up the phone to hear Dave still talking. 'Dave?' 'Yea, where's Jean?' 'She just tossed the phone against the wall and went into her room. What did you say?' 'What I said before that I didn't want a serious relationship and I didn't want to get married ever.' 'That's a good thing to say! She's never gonna forgive you. I hope you now that.' 'So she broke up with me?' 'I have no idea. I bet she'll contact you. I'm gonna go talk to her.' 'Ok bye.' 'Bye.' Kerrie knocked on the door and when she received no answer she went inside to find Jean sitting on the balcony smoking a cigarette. 'Let me put this out before you come any closer.' Jean put it out against the brick wall. 'Dave dropped the big one?' 'Again; I know he said it when we started going out but he seemed to get over that for awhile.' 'I'm sorry.' 'It's not your fault. I just can't believe he's acting like that.' 'I know he's 28 and still acting like he's 16.' 'I'm gonna tell him I need a break. Maybe that's what he needs to really think about this.' 'Smart idea. He didn't even know you were pissed I had to tell him.' 'Figures.' She said laughing as she hugged her friend. 'Thanks so much.' 'No prob., you were there for me when I needed you.' 'That's what friends are for. Let me clean up then we need to go out to celebrate again.' Jean walked into the bathroom to wash her face and put a little foundation under her eyes before the group planned what they should do.

Ch 12

After much debate they headed up to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire for a day of fun in the sun. Thiago drove himself, Kerrie, Bryan and Shane. Jean drove herself, Kian, Nicky, and Mark. For the remainder of the day everyone swam and hung out on the board walk. Kerrie kept getting calls on her cell congratulating her. Around 10 they headed home since both Thiago and Kerrie had to work the next morning. At 8:45 Kerrie was opening the Pharmacy when Dave came in looking pissed. 'What's up?' She asked checking the messages. 'Jean broke up with me.' 'Sorry.' 'It's not your fault. It was the commitment wasn't it?' 'I think she just wanted you guys to take a break.' 'That isn't what she said.' He muttered signing on the register and waiting on customers. Thiago came walking in with Dunkin' Donuts. 'Hey Dave, want anything?' 'No, I'm fine.' Kerrie shook her head and mouthed Jean and he nodded. Thiago went to work entering scripts as Cheryl another tech came in. 'Good morning!' She said happily punching in. 'Hey Cheryl.' Kerrie said sipping a water. 'You look happy to be here this morning. Well you are working with your future husband.' 'And there is another reason.' Dave said walking over. 'What?' 'We're having a baby.' Kerrie said happily. 'Congratulations, I'm so happy for you guys.' She said hugging both of them as Dave took the labels on the printer and went to pull the pill bottles. 'What's up with him?' She asked Kerrie softly. 'Jean broke up with him.' 'Oh I see.' Cheryl headed over to the drop off to help a customer as Kerrie took her seat. The shift seemed to fly by. At 3 Dave was out then at 4 Cheryl was gone and Thiago was done at 5 but stuck around till 7 making sure she wasn't over doing herself. They walked up the hill hand in hand talking about baby names.

Ch 13

Kerrie went to go up stairs but Thiago stopped her. 'Rest for a bit and I'll get Jean for yea.' He said going up the stairs. 'I'm capable of doing things.' 'But you should take it easy. That's what the doctor said.' He said as he walked into Jean's house. Shane and Mark's bags were on the floor and she found Jean in the kitchen reading over an article. 'Hey T!' 'Kerrie wanted to talk to you. She's down stairs.' 'She has the good life being pampered.' 'Where's the guys?' 'They went to go visit a relative of Shane. It was his great aunts birthday they'll be back tonight.' 'Oh.' Thiago walked into the room with the computer as Jean sat next to Kerrie. 'You broke up with Dave?' 'Yea, it came out. He just got me so mad. He tried to act like nothing was wrong.' 'He was so mad at work I just left him alone until he cools down.' 'Always the smart thing to do. Nicky wanted to talk to you.' 'About what?' 'He wants to bury your past.' 'Our past? I guess so maybe.' 'That's always good.' 'He'll be back in an hour or so. Don't worry I'll stay down here in the other room and I'm sure Thiago will sit it.' 'You don't have 2. We're adults we can solve it.' Jean nodded then got up. 'I better go do some work.' 'Ok, sorry for distracting yea.' 'It's ok I needed a break.' 'When are they leaving?' 'Late tomorrow night.' 'Time flies by.' 'Yea but they will be back in October for a bit.' Kerrie nodded as Jean closed the door and her footsteps were heard going up the stairs. Kerrie opened a book she was reading and she focused on what she was reading. About an hour later she heard Jean answer the door and she knew it was now or never.

Ch 14

Kerrie put her book down as Thiago looked up from the magazine he was reading. 'Where are yea going?' 'I need to talk to Nicky.' 'No, hunny this will make you upset.' He said getting up to stop her. 'Thiago, I need to do this.' 'Then I'm staying right here. I don't trust him.' He said sitting down and picking up the magazine. 'Fine.' Kerrie opened the door. 'Nicky, we need to talk.' She said and he nodded. The others went upstairs as Nicky took a seat on the couch and Kerrie on a chair across from him. 'We're both adults now and I don't want this is last forever. I'm sorry I told everyone in attempt to get you back it was pretty childish.' 'No I'm sorry. I was a jerk and if I was honest back then this would have never happened.' 'At least we learned from it.' 'Yea. So can we put this behind us and be friends.' Thiago's eyes bugged out as he went to protest she cut him off. 'Yes, I'd like that.' 'That's good, we're all going to figure out something to do upstairs. Want to come?' 'Sure, Thiago?' 'I guess.' He muttered standing up. After much debate they decided to go to the beach then go out for ice cream. The beach was empty so they could go anywhere they wanted. Jean and Kian were flirting again splashing around in the water. Kerrie sat in a chair looking through Cosmo reading the articles. Thiago was playing Frisbee with Mark, Bryan, Nicky, and Shane. Kerrie's phone started ringing so she answered it. 'Hello?' 'Hey Ker!' 'Nina! What's up?' 'I just got back from Ireland. What you up to?' 'I'm at the beach with Thiago, Jean, her cousin, and his band.' 'Revere?' 'Yea, near Kelly's.' 'Cool, I'll be there in a few.' 'Ok, see yea.' Sherina was their other friend, Kerrie's old roommate in Nina was going to Pharmacy school but dropped out and wrote a book. So she spent a lot of time traveling and working on her next one.

Ch 15

Nina showed up 20 minutes later. Kerrie was up at the wall waiting. 'Where's Chase?' 'Flirting with Kian.' 'What about Dave?' 'They broke up today.' 'Damn! Let me see that ring! Your finally getting hitched?' 'Yea, and I'm having a baby.' 'You go girl!' She said hugging her as they walked down to the group. Kerrie introduced her to everyone as she sat down with her to catch up. Jean came out of the water a few minutes later and hugged her. 'Hey Chase! You and Kian are hitting it off well.' 'I try. How was your trip?' She said sitting down on her towel next to her. 'Good, the next book should be out in 3 months so I'm off for about 2 months.' 'That's good now you can help us plan her wedding.' 'I know, this will be so much fun.' After about an hour everyone got dried off and went to Kel's Cream across the street. Kerrie sat on the wall with a huge sundae. 'Ker, your not gonna eat all that.' Thiago said trying to take some but she pushed him away. 'Get your own.' 'But you won't eat all that.' 'I think she will. Kerry ate like that when she was pregnant.' Bryan said. 'Thank you, Bryan.' She said digging in. Thiago walked across the street as Jean started laughing. 'He thought you couldn't finish that? Ha! You used to eat that when you were 16.' 'Yea, when I was chubby.' 'Oh God, here we go again!' Nina said throwing her arms up. The girls always argued over weight and it could last for hours. 'So Kerrie, have any names picked out?' Nina asked hoping to get her off that topic. 'Not yet, next month I will when I find out if it's a girl or boy.' 'Let's get some ideas out.' Nina started listening names off the top of her head as Jean and Kerrie continued to argue.

Ch 16

About a half an hour later Jean gave up. 'So what are we going to do now?' Kerrie asked. 'I'm taking you home to get some rest.' Kerrie rolled her eyes. 'But the night is young. Why don't we do something fun?' Everyone agreed but Thiago. 'I'm serious you should get some rest.' 'I rested all afternoon.' 'Do you even care about our baby?' He yelled. 'Yea, I do but your being so fucking overprotective. If you want to go home fine but I'm not!' With that she walked away as everyone fell silent. Thiago turned around and got in the car and slammed the door and sped off. 'Arr… he's acting like my freaking dad.' She mumbled sitting on the wall as tears fell from her eyes. 'Ker, don't cry. He just worries about you.' Nina said hugging her. 'I hate being so emotional.' 'It's your hormones.' Jean said sitting on her other side. 'Ok, let's go out. I don't want to worry about this. It's just we have never fought like this.' She started crying again. 'Kerrie, come on calm down. We can take you home and we can do something there.' Jean said motioning for the guys to get in the car. 'I'm ruining everything for your last night here. I'll take the train home and you guys go out.' She said getting up. 'No, we can do something at the house.' Nicky said. 'Come on we can rent a movie and order pizza.' 'Are you sure I'm not ruining your night?' She asked wiping her tears. 'We're sure. It's getting cold so it will be better to be warm inside.' Kian said as the other agreed. 'Ok, but I'm buying.' Nina started laughing. 'Come on let's get warm.' She said ushering her to her car.

Ch 17

Thiago sat on the couch in the dark as the tears fell from his eyes. How could be have over reacted? It's not her fault that she wants to have fun. Am I really acting like an old man? He laid on the couch and tried to stop crying and thinking of a way to talk this out. He heard the door opened and wiped his eyes trying to hide the fact he was crying. He heard footsteps going upstairs then the door opened. Kerrie turned on a light as he shielded his eyes. She sat next to him and hugged him. 'T, I'm so sorry for being such a bitch.' She said crying on his shoulder. 'I'm sorry if I'm being to overprotective. I just worry to much.' 'It's not you. I need to respect your feelings more and stop thinking about what I want and what's best for our family.' She said moving away from him. 'I love you.' He said wiping a tear from her cheek. 'I love you too. Do you want to stay down here or go upstairs?' 'How about we can go up for awhile then get some sleep.' 'I'm all for that.' She said yawing walking into the bathroom. Kerrie came out moments later. 'Ready?' 'Yea.' They walked up stairs to see everyone debating over food menus. Kerrie grabbed one out of Jean's hand. 'Andrea's is the best. I want a large chicken & pineapple pizza. Everyone get what they want.' Jean started laughing. 'That's her favorite. What do you guys want?' 'A plain cheese is fine.' 'Ok 1 large chicken pizza, 2 large cheese, and 1 large chicken & pineapple.' Jean called and the others turned to the TV. Nina popped in 'Queen of The Damned' then grabbed a bag of popcorn. The pizza came within 30 minutes and was gone not long after. Kerrie had her head rested on Thiago's lap as she curled up on the loveseat. She soon fell asleep and Thiago carried her downstairs while the others started drinking.

Ch 18

In the morning Kerrie woke up very hungary; she started to get things ready for pancakes and cooked them Thiago woke up at the smell. 'Hey hunny.' He said sitting at the kitchen table. 'Good morning.' She put a plate infront of him and he started eating. 'What time are you working at?' Kerrie asked sitting across from him. 'I have to be in at 2 and I'm working till 10.' 'We get to work together. I have 12 to 10.' 'I thought they were cutting your nights.' 'Thiago, nights are less stressful.' 'True; I guess that's better.' After eating they both got ready for work. Since it was only 10 Kerrie went upstairs to find everyone fast asleep except Bryan who was on the phone in the kitchen. She knocked on Jean's door then entered when she heard a thud. Kerrie was surprised to see Kian on the floor holding his head wearing boxers and jean laughing. 'Good morning.' Jean said getting out of bed wearing the shirt Kian had on the night before. 'What time do you have to be in work at?' '12.' 'Last night you fell asleep I was so upset.' She said walking into the kitchen and putting on coffee. 'Yea, being a bitch wears me out.' Kerrie said sitting at the table. 'Where is the man anyway?' 'He was going food shopping.' 'Lucky him. Bry, how's Kerry and Molly?' 'Good, are you wearing Kian's shirt?' Jean looked down blushing. 'Yea…' Bryan started laughing as Shane came out of the bathroom. 'Morning.' He said taking orange juice out of the fridge. 'Are you guys doing anything today?' 'First they are helping me clean up then we're going to Copley Plaza.' 'You suck.' Kerrie said crossing her arms. 'I have to work and deal with people and you get to shop.' 'Call in and come with us.' 'Right; I'm cutting my hours and moving to a smaller store so the company will be so happy I decided to take an extra day off.' Everyone continued to talk about the previous night and what Jean and Kian were doing. Nina came in holding her head. 'Where were you?' 'Sleeping in the big closet. Those two were way to loud last night.' Both Kian and Jean blushed.

Ch 19

Soon they were done cleaning and left for Copley Plaza and Kerrie went to work. She sat at the computer checking the RXs in the computer and answering questions for customers. Dave came in at 3 still in a bad mood. 'Hey Dave.' Kerrie said tossing a RX in the bin. 'Hi.' He mumbled walking over to punch in. 'Cheer up it's Friday.' 'And my girlfriend broke up with me yesterday. That's not something to be happy about.' 'Don't bite my head off. She didn't want to keep dating if the relationship wasn't going anywhere.' 'Whatever; I'm done with dating girls like her anyway.' 'What's that suppose to mean? She is my best friend.' 'I mean I'm done with high matience girls. I now she's your bestfriend that's why I'm dropping this. I'm not even going to worry about it cause I might be going in the service.' 'Dave, don't do anything rash. You were in the marines for 6 years.' 'I'm not doing anything rash. I'm thinking it over; I'm 28 freaking years old, I hate this job, I don't want to get married, what else there for me to do?' 'Dave, calm down.' 'Sorry, I didn't mean to freak like that but everything is way to messed up now.' Kerrie nodded in agreement as she went back to work. Thiago walked back into the pharmacy with a strawberry shake and handed it to Kerrie. 'Man, you are so whipped.' Dave said laughing as he picked up some labels off the printer. 'Dave, I'm not whipped. A pharmacist can't leave the store on their shift so I was getting her something.' 'See this is why I'm not getting married or having kids cause you just get bossed around.' 'Dave, I don't even want to argue with you but she's not bossing me around. The doctor told her to take it easy so I'm doing everything I can to help out. Maybe it you thought with your head and not your dick you'd actually see that love is better then you make it out to be.' Dave didn't reply he just walked over to the shelf and took a bottle down. Thiago went over to the quick filling machine and went back to filling it.

Ch 20

The rest of the afternoon was tense and by 8 it was only the three of them there and it was dead. Thiago and Kerrie were tossing out baby names as Dave talked to some girl on the phone. At 9:30 when Dave was getting ready to leave Jean came in followed by the 5 guys. Dave glared at Kian who had his arm around her waist. Jean froze when she saw him as the other conversations stopped. 'You broke up with me for that pretty boy?' Dave said his hands making fists. 'We broke up cause the relationship was a mess. Dave your 28 and don't know what you want in life while I'm 23 and know what I want.' 'So you want to be with a girly singer?' 'Dave, I don't want to have this conversation now.' Kerrie got up and walked over to the group as Dave quickly punched out and stormed past them pushing Kian into a wall. 'I hope you can deal with her cause I sure as hell can't anymore.' He said holding him there then walking out of the store quickly. 'What is up with him today?' Bryan said taking a seat in a chair. 'He's been like this since he came in. He freaked on me then Thiago so we just let him be.' Jean just shook her head. 'Kian are you ok?' Kerrie asked. 'Yea, I'm fine. That guy is a freak.' 'So we're gonna grab something to eat before their flight; care to join us?' 'Yea, since we're getting ready to close.' 'Ok, we'll be outside.' They all walked out of the store as Kerrie and Thiago finished up and got ready to close the pharmacy. Once that was done she set the alarm and said good-bye to the manager as they headed to meet the others. They went to the 99 and were seated at the large table in the back since it was dead.

Ch 21

During dinner everyone was silent except Jean and Kian who kept flirting. Once they were done it was close to 11:15 so they headed to their cars to drive to the airport. 'Ker, if you want to go to sleep I don't mind driving them.' 'Naww… I'm fine.' She said hoping in the passenger seat as Bryan and Shane got in the backseat. 'So what's up with Kian and Jean?' Kerrie asked. 'Hey all I know is that we were watching some mob movie and they went into her room and minutes later Sherina came out of the kitchen saying they are so gross other people are out here and started banging on her door.' 'That's jean for yea.' Kerrie said flipping on the radio. 'Typical Kian. I wonder what will happen.' Shane said. 'Me too.' Bryan said humming the song on the radio. 'Do long distance relationships really work? I've never had one.' 'If you really want them to. I can see those two trying.' 'That's all you can do.' Soon they arrived at the airport and parked then they all headed inside. Kerrie was hugging Bryan and Shane bye as the others came in behind them. Bryan and Shane hugged Jean then headed on the plane followed by Mark. Thiago staid off to the side as Nicky came over to Kerrie. 'So this time we're saying good-bye on good terms.' She said laughing. 'Yea; I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of Kian around here.' 'I think so. Well… I guess I'll see yea in 2 months.' 'Yea, we have a full week off so we'll be around.' 'Ok, get some sleep on the plane.' 'I'll try; you take care of yourself and the baby.' 'I will.' They hugged as that old feeling of young love seemed to return for a few seconds. 'I better get on the plane before your fiancée kills me.' Nicky said laughing. 'Naww… he's way to passive for that.' 'Bye.' Nicky picked up his carry on and headed on the plane as Thiago walked over.

Ch 22

They turned to see Jean and Kian saying good-bye. 'Remember when we started dating?' Kerrie said laughing. 'Yea, Ricky told everyone I had a crush on you. I was so sure that you'd pick Zenny or Nicole.' 'Naww… they weren't my type. From the day you started working there I liked you but I was dating someone and to scared to be shot down.' 'Kian, hurry your ass up!' Bryan yelled from the gate. 'Ok, McFadden!' He snapped as Jean giggled. 'I'll call you tomorrow.' 'Ok, 2 months isn't a long time.' Jean said sadly. 'It could be longer.' Kian said kissing her. 'You better get on the plane before they leave you.' 'I wish they would.' He said laughing. 'Go.' Jean said playfully pushing him. 'I see how it is.' He said walking towards the gate. 'Kian, it's nice to know I'm chopped liver!' Kerrie said laughing as he hurried back and hugged her then ran to the gate. Jean gave a half smile then started towards the door. 2 weeks later Kerrie sat at the kitchen table with Jean, Nina, and her sister. Kerrie's stomach was getting a little round an she was eating up a storm. Thiago was at school then was going to go look at a tux with his 2 brothers. 'Ker, get this dress!' Kayte said holding up a magazine with a picture of a maternity wedding dress. 'Am I that fat?' She said putting down the cookies. 'Kerrie, don't say that the wedding is in a month and a half. Didn't your doctor say that you'd be putting on some more weight by then?' She nodded. 'Ok see this dress is expandable and is pretty.' She half smiled. 'Let's go look and get you guys sized for your dresses.' 'We gotta pick up mom and Mrs. Lenaor.' 'Ok, I'll drive and Nina can drive.' Jean said. 'No, I'm capable of driving.' Kerrie said picking up her bag. 'Ker, mom will make you give her the keys anyway.' Kayte said. 'Fine.' 'Ok, Ker you go with Nina and Kayte come with me.' They got into the cars and each picked up one of the women and headed to the bridal store in Saugus.

Ch 23

'I remember getting my prom dress here!' Kerrie said looking at the side with them. 'Oh memories.' Jean said laughing as a lady came over to them. 'Hello ladies. How can I help you today?' 'I'm here to look a wedding dress and these 3 girls are getting fitted for their bridesmaids dressed and these women are looking for dresses.' 'Very good; are the girls dresses ordered?' 'Yes.' 'Ok you girls go over to Tina and you two ladies go over to Sarah and you come with me.' They all split up and Kerrie looked at the huge section of wedding dresses. 'Do you have any maternity dresses?' 'Yes, their over here. Are you having a boy or girl?' 'A girl.' 'How cute. I had my daughter before I was married too.' 'I didn't plan on it I was going to have an operation-' 'No need to explain things happen.' She said coldly. 'I don't like your tone.' Kerrie said getting offended. 'Excuse me.' She said. 'Are you implying that I'm a slut?' Kerrie spat. 'No, I'm just saying I know how it is to be looked down on for having a child out of wedlock.' Kerrie slapped her. 'Sorry I'm no trailer trash like you but I wanted a child and I'm not looked down on.' With that she turned on her heal and walked out of the store. 'Mom! Maria! We need to go somewhere else.' She said going to find the others. 'Girls, we're taking our business elsewhere.' The owner approached them. 'You need to buy these dresses.' 'I would have but your employees are very ignorant and rude.' They all walked out as Kerrie leaded against the car wiping a tear. 'Kerrie, I'm sorry. Let's go see if Joyce can make us dresses. She's the best anyway.' 'Mom, that women was so rude and she was acting like I'm a teen mother.' She sobbed as her mother held her. Maria looked at her future daughter-in-law and went back into the store. She yelled at the owner and then the lady before coming out. 'Honey, don't worry I took care of them.' She said hugging her. 'Thanks, Maria.' 'Even though I don’t speak good English I no let them hurt you.' The girls went to Joyce who was a private seamstress and got sized for dresses. She showed them a design and Kerrie agreed. She had the right color so she did a design for Ellen then Maria and lastly Kerrie. She showed her a design she did a long while ago; it was a simple dress that was loose and from the picture you couldn't even tell she was pregnant. After Kerrie was done they went to lunch then back to the house.

Ch 24

That month and a half flew by and soon it was time for the wedding. Westlife was there that week getting into Boston then day before. They were attending the wedding along with their girlfriends/wife who came to visit them on their vacation. Jean and Nina stood outside Kerrie's cousin's room. They were having the wedding in her aunts yard after the priest refused to marry them in their parish since she has carrying a child before the marriage. Her Aunt Nancy's yard was beautiful and it was still warm being early October. Since the wedding was pretty small there was no problems. Thiago was pacing back and forth nervously as both of his brothers and father tried to calm him down. Kerrie was sitting on a chair as Jo, her cousin's wife did her hair. 'Jo, are you almost done.' She whined. 'Girl, I know how nervous you are but he's outside and I don't think he's going anywhere.' Kerrie jumped up and looked out the window as Kayte, Ellen, and Maria laughed. She let out a sigh of relief and sat back down as Jo resumed curling her hair. There was a knock on the door. 'Come in!' Kerrie said. Jean popped her head in. 'Mr. Lenaor is getting very anxious. Are you almost done?' '2 minutes, can you tell everyone?' 'Yup.' Jo finally finished as Kerrie turned to look in the mirror. 'Ker, you look so pretty!' Jo's 4 year old daughter, Emily, said. 'Thanks, Emily. You look pretty too.' The little girl hugged her and headed to the door with Jo. 'Take a deep breath and it's fine.' Jo said as Nina came into the room. 'Wow, Chica! He's gonna fall over when he sees you.' Kerrie laughed as Jean came into the room. 'Their ready.' They all walked down the stairs as they heard the music. Kerrie's cousin Joey and his band were playing the music as the ceremony started. 'Jean, I'm so nervous.' 'Like Jo said breath. Look you know everyone here so it's cool.' Kerrie half smiled as they walked into the yard.

Ch 25

Kerrie took her father's arm as he wiped a tear. 'Hunny, you look beautiful.' He said kissing her cheek. 'Dad, don't cry.' She said her eyes watering. They started down the makeshift isle as cameras flashed. John stopped as they met Thiago. 'Take good care of her.' 'He nodded as they turned to face Fr. Coyne. Jean and Nina tired to wipe their tears. Dave stood by the fence holding a bag. Jean turned her head the other way as she ignored him. After the wedding was over everyone sat around outside as Kerrie went over to Dave. 'Hey Ker, you look great.' 'Thanks.' 'I'm leaving for Georgia for boot camp but I just wanted to say bye and good luck.' Kerrie hugged him. 'You better write.' 'I will when I get there.' 'Ok.' 'I'll see yea.' He walked over to the cab as Kerrie went back to he party. 'Where's he going?' Jean asked. 'Boot camp.' 'Oh.' She said looking down feeling it was her fault. 'Jean, it's ok he would have down it anyway. Your much happier with Kian anyway.' Nicky seemed to stay off to himself with Georgina. The party seemed to wind down around 12 when everyone headed back to their hotels. Kerrie and Thiago were going to NY for a few days but having a real hunny moon after the baby was born. Jean sat at the bar in the hotel joking around with Kian. Nina was pretty drunk so Jason walked her back to her room. Nicky and Georgina got into an argument and it ended with her storming out of the bar and going to their room. Jean went over to her cousin to find out what was the matter.

Ch 26

‘Hey Nicky, are you ok?’ ‘As good as I can be. I think Gina is going to end it.’ ‘What happened?’ ‘She thinks I’m in love with someone else.’ ‘Kerrie?’ He nodded as he took a sip of his drink. ‘Are you?’ ‘I don’t know. She is just so different then Gina and I think if I never dumped her them it would be me with her.’ ‘I think you are in love with her.’ ‘I don’t stand a chance anyway. She’s so happy with Thiago that I’m not even going to pursue it. I don’t want to hurt her again. Anyway how’s things with you and Kian?’ ‘Good, I’m going to visit you guys on tour after the baby’s born.’ ‘That’s good. I’m happy for you two. I’m going to go talk to Gina and see what happens.’ He got up and walked out of the room. Jean got up and went back over to Kian. ‘What did he say?’ ‘He’s in love with her. I knew it.’ Jean said sadly. Kian nodded as they heard yelling in the lobby. Everyone walked out to see Gina and Nicky arguing. ‘Your a jerk. You couldn’t even tell me how you felt?’ She spat. ‘Gina, I’m sorry. I didn’t know how I really felt.’ She slapped him. ‘Stay down here and I’ll be gone in an hour.’ She said running to the elevator. Nicky held the side of his face as he shook his head and went back to the bar.

Ch 27

The plane ride to NY seemed like only moments. Kerrie was smiling happily as Thiago laid his head on her stomach talking to their daughter. When they arrived they went to get their bags and got a cab to the hotel. ‘I love you so much.’ He said kissing her as they took the elevator to their room. ‘I love you too.’ She said kissing his back. ‘We should call someone and tell them we’re ok.’ She said as they reached the room. ‘Ok, go ahead.’ She called her mother then Jean before lying back on the bed tiredly. Thiago sat next to her. ‘Tired?’ ‘Yea, who knew a wedding would be this tiring.’ ‘Yea, it was.’ They got changed and went to bed. Meanwhile… Back in Boston Nicky was laying in his hotel room drunk. 'Love sucks!' He slurred picking up the phone. He slowly dialed Kerrie and Thiago's house. As the answer machine picked up he planned what he would say. 'Hi you've reached Kerrie and Thiago leave a message and we'll get back to yea!' Came Kerrie's voice sounding all too happy. After the beep he paused before talking. 'Kerrie, it's Nicky. I really want to talk to you before I go back to Ireland. Shit! I can't be doing this!' He said as he hung up. He fell back on the bed as tears started to fall from his eyes. 'If I wasn't so stupid back then this wouldn't be happening.' He said looking at the wall.

Ch 28

Soon enough the hunny moon was over and they returned home. Thiago headed off to school while Kerrie remained home on bed rest. She looked at the answering machine that was beeping. 'Kerrie, it's Nicky. I really want to talk to you before I go back to Ireland. Shit! I can't be doing this!' Was the only message. She reached for the phone and called the hotel. 'Can I have Nicky Bryne's room please?' 'Hold one minute.' 'Hello?' He mumbled. 'Nicky, it's Kerrie.' 'What’s up?' 'I got your message. Are you ok?' 'Fine, just a really bad hangover.' 'What did you want to talk about?' 'It's nothing. I was really drunk that night, Gina left me and I was a mess.' 'Want to come over and talk about it.' 'I'm sure you have much better things to do-' 'No, I'm on bed rest. Come over anytime.' She hung up the phone as Jean came down the stairs. 'Hello Mrs. Lenaor!' She said hugging her. 'Hey Jean!' 'How was NY?' 'Ok, the weather was crappy so we staid in most of the time. So…how's things with Kian?' 'Good, very good. Nina hooked up with Mark after the wedding.' 'That's funny. Their nothing alike.' 'True, I better get going. I have to stop at work and drop off some stuff before I go out. Do you need anything?' 'Naww… I'm fine. Nicky's coming over in a few anyway.' 'See yea later.' Jean headed out the door and Kerrie went back to watching TV.

Ch 29

Soon Nicky was knocking on the door nervously. Kerrie opened it and he walked into the house. They both took a seat. 'How was the hunny moon?' 'Ok, since the weather was bad we ended up staying inside watching TV most of the time.' 'How's the baby? 2 more months right?' 'Yea, she's doing good. I think she's going to be very active she likes to move a lot.' 'Where's the husband?' 'At school, he's almost finished pre-med.' 'He wants to be a doctor?' 'Yea. Nicky, what's wrong you seem so nervous.' 'I should be. My life is kind of a mess now.' 'I'm willing to listen; so spill it if it'll make you fell better.' 'I'm just really confused about everything; love especially. When Gina broke up with me she made some really valid points that I was too scared to admit to myself.' Kerrie nodded as he continued. 'I know you could say how can you not be happy; you have everything you want in life. But I don't. I don't have love. Sure I loved Gina but I wasn't in love. I look at you and Thiago and that's what I see love; Bryan and Kerry; Shane and Gillian; Jean and Kian; even Mark and Nina it's love for all of you. I think I'm in love now but this girl doesn't love me back. At least not after what I did to her.' 'Nicky, I'm sure she'd understand if you explained everything to her.' 'It's not that easy she's in love with someone else.' He said looking away. Kerrie paused for a second and the thought came to her that he could be talking about her. 'Nicky, who is it?' She blurted out. 'I shouldn't be bothering you with my stupid problems.' He said getting up. 'Nicky, seriously who is it?' She asked following him to the door. 'I know it's 8 years too late but it's you.' He said before opening the door and running down the street. Kerrie shook her head as she locked the door. 'Why do I feel that I should go after him?' She said to herself.

Ch 30

Kerrie looked at her ring. 'Please say I didn't mess up again.' She said silently. 'Kerrie, pull yourself together. Your happily married, Nicky hurt you before. Don't let him do it again.' She said flipping through the TV channels. A week later Westlife was back in Ireland and everything seemed to be going well. Nina and Jean stayed with Kerrie when Thiago was working or at school. Most of the time they talked about Kian or Mark then Kerrie finally brought up the Nicky thing. 'Girls, I have a really serious question.' 'Go ahead.' Jean said anxiously. 'You know that day Nicky came over so we could talk? The thing that was bugging him was that he thought he was in love with me.' 'And…' Nina said moving to the edge of the couch. 'I think I might have some feelings for him. Do you think I really do or it's just my messed up hormones?' Both of the girls were silent till Jean finally spoke. 'He was the first guy you fell in love with so you'll always have feelings for him. I don't know if they are anything more then that. Only you can decide that.' 'He is really in love with you though. I was at their hotel when he came back and he was really upset. Mark said he had been drinking a lot since Gina left him.' 'Maybe he was just thinking that cause he was drunk.' 'No, he told me when he was sober.' Jean said looking at the ground. 'If you have any feelings for him and if you really love Thiago you have to talk to both of them and sort everything out.' 'I'll talk to them once I figure things out. I don't want to make a big deal out of things if I'm not sure.'

Ch 31

The baby was born 2 weeks later. Jean and Nina were with her when she went into labor. Thiago was working and they calling him when they were on the way to the hospital. Kerrie's mother and Maria got there quickly. Kayte, Joshua, and both of their fathers got there right after. Ron went to go pick-up Thiago. He luckily got there a few minutes before their daughter was born. Kerrie already had the name picked out Bethany Sera Lenaor was perfect in every way except she was on the small side. The happy mother held her daughter while Thiago was talking to some women in the hallway. Josh walked into the room followed by Ron. 'Who is that?' She said motioning to the women who was screaming at Thiago. 'Reana, a girl from Brazil he had a fling with when he was 16. She was really obsessed after.' Josh said holding his niece. Thiago came into the room. 'That women is such a pain.' 'Why is that?' 'She keeps bugging me saying that her son is mine.' Kerrie's mouth dropped. 'Is he?' 'No, the timing is all wrong. He's 2 and we dated when I was 16.' 'You should have him tested.' 'Your on her side now?' He asked getting defensive. 'If he's not yours like you say it will just prove it.' Kerrie said matching his tone. 'I'm not having a test!' He spat walking out of the room. Bethany was handed to Kerrie as Josh went to go talk to him. Jean heard the yelling and came into the room. 'What was that about. Thiago defiantly stormed out of here.' 'An ex girlfriend showed up and said her 2 year old son is his.' Jean's mouth dropped as Kerrie nodded. Later that night Jean headed home and called Kian then Nicky.

Ch 32

'Hello?' Yawned Nicky. 'Nicky, it's Jean.' 'What's up?' 'Kerrie had the baby?' 'How is she?' 'Strong as ever and little Bethany is doing fine. But her and Thiago are having issues. Some girl showed up and she her 2 year old is his.' 'What happened?' 'Kerrie wanted him to prove that the kid wasn't his by a blood tests but he said no and stormed out. When I left he still hadn't come back.' 'If he's avoiding the topic he must be guilty.' Nicky said after a long pause. 'Anyway I shouldn't be hoping that. It's not like I stand a chance anyway.' 'Nicky, I'm pretty sure there's something there.' 'She stood there when I walked away!' 'She's confused and didn't know if it was just the hormones or whatever. I gotta get some sleep I have to go visit her early in the morning.' 'Ok, thanks for the update.' 'Bye.' Jean hung up and let out a sigh. Those two were meant to be she knew that when they first met, they had the spark. The next day at the hospital Thiago visited Bethany but didn't say anything to Kerrie. As Nina came that afternoon Kerrie knew she had to do something. 'Nina, I have a huge favor to ask?' 'If I get Reana's number or address from Josh will you ask her to come in and talk to me?' 'Sure.' Kerrie reached for the phone and called Josh then got Reana's address. Nina left right away in hopes of convincing her to come and talk. Kerrie got out of the bed holding her side since she was still in a lot of pain. She slowly walked down to the nursery where Thiago was. Kerrie looked through the glass at him sitting in a rocking chair holding their daughter and knew something was wrong. She stood in the doorway. 'Can we talk?' He nodded as she walked into the room and sat in the chair across from him.

Ch 33

'I'm not going to take back what I said about the blood test. If you know for a fact that she had your son just tell me. We seem to be fighting all the time and we hardly have anything in common. We just seemed to end up together because the other was there and we didn't want to be alone. I do love you because you gave me Bethany and you’re a good person but we weren't meant to be. The only reason we lasted this long was great sex.' She said as he handed her Bethany. 'Reana and I were good friends when we were younger and always told we'd get married. When I moved here we lost touch and when I went back when I was 16 we had a fling. She thought she was pregnant but had a miscarriage about 4 months later. Sammy maybe be my son because when I went to visit 3 years go we ended up having sex a few times. I do love you and Bethany but we aren't going to work out.' 'That's what I think.' 'I'll get a blood test taken to see if Sammy is mine. Just cause we're not together doesn't mean I can't take care of Bethany.' 'Thiago, worry about Med. school and your son. I can take care of Bethany and myself.' 'You want me to just walk away?' 'It's your choice. I want to move on and you have your life planned out.' He nodded. 'You have other obligations so take care of them and we'll be fine.' 'I'm not going to walk out on her. I'll always be around if she needs me.' Nina stood in the door way with Reana and Sammy. Tears were streaming down Kerrie's face as she got up and started back to the room with her daughter. Nina followed as Thiago and Reana went to talk. 'You ended it?' 'I had to it wasn't love only lust.' She said as Nina took Bethany. Kerrie wiped her tears as they got back to the room.

Ch 34

A month and a half later Jean convinced Kerrie to go to Ireland with her and Nina. Kerrie and Thiago hardly talked; once he stopped by to see Bethany and he told her he was Sammy's father. Kerrie filed for divorce before leaving. Bethany was doing great ad growing fast. After landing in Sligo Kian picked them up. Once they reached the hotel Mark joined them along with Shane and Gillian. The girls put their stuff in their rooms then got something to eat. Jean went out with Kian and Nina went with Mark. Kerrie staid at the hotel with Bethany knowing the 2 weeks would be pretty much them staying in the hotel but it was good to be away from Charlestown and an apartment that held so many memories. The girls planned to chip in for a house in Melrose when they got back and Kerrie was going to try to get transferred closer to there. Nina came back around 9 and got unpacked. Her and Jean were sharing a room that was connected to Kerrie's room. 'Tomorrow we're going to Dublin and Nicky said we could all stay over night at his place for a night or 2.' 'Sounds fun.' Kerrie said trying to be happy. 'I know you want to see him.' 'And say what? Hey I'm single now let's hook up!' She said as her eyes got watery. 'Sorry, I didn't mean it like that.' 'I know but everything is still confused. I was only married for a month and a half; now it's ended. I don't know if things could work anyway. I live in the US and he's always traveling.' 'Love can do amazing things.' Nina said. 'Maybe, but not for me. I've always gotten screwed over.' She said sadly sitting on the bed as Beth started crying. 'Kerrie, trust me things always work out.' Nina said as Kerrie walked back and forth with Beth as she calmed down.

Ch 35

Around 10 Kerrie and got in Kian's car with Jean while Nina went with Mark. The drive to Dublin took several hours and then they finally got to Nicky's house. As Kian knocked on the door Kerrie stood off to the side rocking Beth back and forth. Nicky opened the door looking a little nervous. Kian and Mark grabbed the bags and Nicky went to go help. Jean looked at Kerrie who refused to look at him. Nina nudged Jean they looked to see Nicky looking Kerrie over and she glanced at him then away. 'We gotta hook them up.' Nina said under her breath as Jean nodded her head. Kian and Mark brought the bags up stairs as silence filled the room. 'So how was the flight?' Nicky asked. 'Good.' Nina said as Jean nodded. 'It was ok.' Kerrie said not looking at him. 'Bethany is beautiful.' 'Thanks.' She said meeting his glance that they both held till Kian came down the stairs laughing. 'Mark is such a fool.' He said laughing. 'What happened?' Nicky asked walking up the stairs. 'Nicky just painted one of the rooms this morning and he walked into the wall!' Kian said as everyone laughed. 'Mark!' They heard Nicky yell. 'Sorry I didn't know it was wet!' Mark stood at the top of the stairs covered in red paint. Kerrie had to break a smile as Nicky muttered about his wall. They all rested for a bit then got ready to go walk around. Kerrie seemed to be warming up to Nicky which made Jean and Nina happy. As they walked around down town Dublin each couple staid together with Nicky and Kerrie making small talk about the site and weather.

Ch 36

When they got back to Nicky's house Kerrie agreed to make supper while everyone planned what they would do that night. Jean and Nina came into the kitchen after the choice was made to stay in and watch movies. The girls stood there watching Kerrie cook making a salad. 'Are you uncomfortable being here?' Asked Jean. Kerrie shook her head no. 'What would you make you think that?' 'You just seem distant.' 'I'm just trying to sort things out instead of putting things off like I've always done.' Kerrie put the salad to the side since she was done and put the chicken in the oven. 'Ok, can you help me set the table?' The girls did that quickly and soon the supper was finished. Everyone ate in silence and when they were done everyone complemented Kerrie and the guys washed the dishes. After that was done everyone got comfortable in the living room and they watched 'Lord of the Rings.' Not long after the movie started Kian and Jean left to go out to a bar. Kerrie had Bethany in her arms rocking her back and forth as the baby drifted off into sleep. Mark and Nina were cuddling on the love seat while Kerrie and Nicky sat on opposite sides of the couch. As the movie ended both Nina and Mark were asleep. Kerrie got up and headed to the guest room and after a few minutes Nicky followed. Kerrie put Beth in her crib and changed into a pair of flannel pants and a tank top then got comfortable on the bed with a book. Nicky knocked on the door and Kerrie motioned for him to come in. 'Are you all set?' 'Yea, thanks for inviting everyone.' Kerrie said smiling. 'I'm sorry that I spilt my problems on you that day. I didn't know what I was thinking.' 'It's ok. Everything's different anyway.' She said looking down at the wedding ring she still wore. 'Do you still love him?' 'In a way because he gave me Beth; my little miracle. But I don't think I was ever really in love with him.' Nicky sat on the edge of the bed.

Ch 37

'Did you mean what you said?' Kerrie asked. 'Yea, since that night I've been thinking what if we ended up together and I didn't go back to Gina. At least everything is starting to settle and things are working out better.' 'I always thought that too. Then I had the thought of what if that never happened. But I have no regrets.' Kerrie said looking at Beth who was sleeping. 'I don't have any either. I'll let you get some sleep.' 'No, stay. We can talk.' Kerrie said grabbing his hand. Nicky sat back down. 'About what?' 'Anything.' Kerrie said as she let go of his hand. There was a long pause before Kerrie moved and kissed him. Nicky responded and kissed her back and soon they heard laughing. 'Finally!' Kian said as they shot him an icy glare. 'So when did you two work things out?' Jean asked. 'We were talking.' Kerrie said. 'That sure didn't look like talking.' Kian said as Beth started to cry. Kerrie got up and picked up her daughter. Kian and Jean walked down the hallway as Kerrie sat down with Beth. 'She is so nosey.' Kerrie said. 'Both of them are. I am in love with you and I want to know who you feel about me.' He said looking at her. 'Nicky, I've been in love with you since I was 16.' She said laughing. A smile crossed his face at their eyes met. 'I want us to spend some times together tomorrow so you get to know the grown up me.' He said standing up. Beth started to cry again. 'Nicky, I think she likes you.' Kerrie said trying to calm down her daughter. 'Here, let me sing to her.' Nicky took Beth and started to sing to her softly as she calmed down and drifted back to sleep. Kerrie let out a sigh of relief as Nicky put her back in her crib.

Ch 38

Nicky gave her a quick kiss then went to his room. Kerrie laid back on the bed and looked at the ceiling as she closed her eyes and tried to sleep. This didn't work so she went back to her book and read until she fell asleep. The next morning she woke up to Jean shaking her. 'Get away.' Kerrie mumbled rolling on her side and covering her head with a pillow. 'Kerrie, come on get up. It's almost 1 and your leaving at 2.' '1?' Kerrie asked sitting up then running into the bathroom. Nina came into the room with Beth who was bathed and dressed. Kerrie hurried to get ready as Jean and Nina laughed. 'Girl you act like this is your first date.' Nina said fixing Kerrie's hair. 'It is since I was with Thiago.' 'Kerrie, you have nothing to worry. Plus don't be nervous it's not like either of you have dated in awhile.' Jean said handing Kerrie her daughter. 'Where you girls going?' She asked nervously. 'We'll be back in a few minutes. We need to run to the store and we'll be back before you leave.' Kerrie nodded her head as she reached for her ringing cell phone. 'Hello?' 'Ker, how are yea?' 'Hey Dave, I'm good.' 'I called your house and there was no answer.' 'That's cause I'm in Ireland.' 'With who?' 'Nina, Jean, and Beth.' 'What about Thiago?' 'We're getting divorced.' 'Huh? When did this happen?' 'Right after Beth was born.' 'When will you be back?' 'In a few days.' 'Good cause I'm getting discharged.' 'How?' 'I got shot during training and now I have a limp.' 'Are you ok?' 'Fine, it's not like I haven't been shot before.' 'If you want you can stay with me.' 'Thanks, you’re a pal. We're you moving in with the girls?' 'Yea, two weeks after we get back.' 'That should be fun. Is Jean still pissed at me?' 'I think she's over it. Her and Kian are so in love.' 'I see.' He said sounding a little hurt. 'I'll call you with more info. When I get it.' 'Ok, I'll see yea.' 'Bye.' Kerrie hung up the phone as she shook her head. Kian stood in the door way. 'Who was that?' 'Dave, he's getting out of the army. He got shot.' 'He deserved it.' Kian said bitterly. 'He had a tough life. I know he shouldn't have acted the way he did but that's all he knows.' Kian nodded as he turned and walked down the hallway.

Ch 39

Jean and Nina came through the door a few minutes later laughing. 'What did you two do?' Kerrie asked. 'Nothing, we just got some food. Here.' Nina said digging though her purse. 'You'll need theses more then I will.' She said tossing her a box of condoms. 'You two are sick.' Kerrie said catching them. 'Hey I brought those here just incase this happened.' Nina said taking Beth as Jean stuck them in Kerrie's bag. 'Go have fun.' Jean said pushing her out the door. Kerrie shook her head laughing as she walked down the stairs to see Nicky standing by the door with flowers. Jean and Nina stood at the top of the stairs with Beth giving Nicky a thumbs up. He handed her the flowers and kissed her cheek as she blushed. She took her arm as they headed out the door. He opened the door of his car for her as she got in. Nicky walked around to the other side and got in and started the car. 'I hope you like to be spontaneous because I don't have a set plan.' 'It's better that way.' Kerrie said looking out the window. As they drove around the country side they talked about everything. Soon they stopped to walk around. Nicky put his arm around her waist and things seemed to fall into place. They sat on a wall as they kissed and watched the sunset. 'How is this going to work out?' Kerrie said lifting her head from Nicky's shoulder and sitting up from their laying position. 'Let's not worry about that.' Nicky said going to kiss her but she moved. 'Seriously we need to figure it out. Sure Dublin is nice but I don't think I could live here and your always traveling.' She said getting up and walking back and forth. 'I don't have to travel or you and Beth could come with me.' 'No, I like my job and I can't leave everyone.' 'Then I'll leave Westlife.' Nicky said standing up and hugging her. 'I don't want you to give up your dreams.' She said putting her head down. 'Just forget I brought this topic up.' She said looking into his eyes. 'Ok, let’s go back to Dublin there's a "slammin'" club we should go to.' 'Ha! Using my word.' Kerrie said as they walked back to the car.

Ch 40

The next three days seemed to fly by and soon everyone was back in Sligo and the girls were getting ready to leave. Kerrie and Nicky agreed to let everything work itself out and were going to continue to date. Jean had agreed to take a promotion which would give her more time to spend with Kian since she would be traveling around the world. Nina and Mark seemed to be ok but not too serious and she was leaving her book tour anyway. The departure at the airport wasn't too bed and soon the girls were back home. 2 days later Kerrie picked Dave up at the airport and he moved into her apartment watching Beth as Kerrie started to go back to work. The girls put off the move and hardly saw eachother since everything was so hectic. After a few months everything seemed to settle. Kerrie and Dave bought a house in Medford and she got transferred to another CVS and had better hours since it close at 5. Dave got a job as a security guard doing night shifts for a water plant. Nicky came for a visit and they got engaged. Both knew it would be awhile before they could actually get married and settle down. Jean moved to Sligo with Kian and now worked out of Europe. Now that all their lives seemed perfect they knew they had all made the right choices.
