Meg wandered down the corridor of the arena in Dublin. She dialed her best friend's phone number and he picked up soon after. "Hello?" "Hey Nicky!" "Megan! Your home?" "No, here." "Here as in Dublin?" "Here as in the arena, actually right in front of-" He opened the door and threw his arms around her. "Mags, I missed yea!" She walked into the room. "Messy, as usual." She laughed. "I like it this way." "Hey, who's the hot guys in the other room?" "The opening group West- something." "Your such a blond." "Hey, you're a blond too!" "Not really." They started joking around playfully and ended up on the floor on top of each other. They stopped laughing when they noticed someone in the door. "Sorry, Nick I just wanted to thank you for letting me and the other lads open for you and the rest of the band." "No prob, this is Meg. Meg, this is um." "Bryan McFadden of Westlife." "Hey, I'm Megan Conners but you can call me Meg." "Nice to meet you, I'll let you two go back to whatever you were doing." "We were just chillin." Meg said getting off him and smiled as she sat on the couch. "You can stay if you want." "No, I have to get ready. Thanks anyway." "Ok, see yea around." He turned and left then Nick got up off the floor and sat on the couch next to Meg. "Mags, got a crush!" She hit him in the arm. "Shut up, Carter. If I do it's none of your business." "Yea, it is. You're my best friend." "You wish!" She smiled and messed with his hair. "Don't touch the 'do'!" He yelled and started to tickle her. "Stop it, Nicky!" "That's not my name." "It is to me." "Say it!" "Nicky!" Brian stopped walking and stood in the doorway. "Ahem." "We weren't doing anything." Laughed Nick as he climbed off Meg. "Right, Nicky!" He said in a girly voice. "You gotta get your make-up done." Brian said mocking them batting his eyelashes. Nick groaned and walked out of the room then turned around. "Rok, you're not funny." "So... Meg, when are you two gonna go out?" Brian asked taking a seat next to Meg. "Never, he is like an older brother." "Yea, right." Brian said rolling his eyes. "It's true, plus I have taken a liking to someone else." "And who might that be?" "Bryan, he's in Westlife." "Oh, he's the one that kinda looks like Nick." She looked at the floor trying to cover her red cheeks. "Meg, if you like Nick let him know cause he isn't going to wait forever." With that Brian got up and walked out of the room. Meg sighed and got up to look around. She walked aimlessly around the hallways and stopped when she heard singing. Meg turned the corner to see Bryan and his group singing. His voice was awesome and soon he spotted her and waved. The other 4 guys turned around. "Lads, this is Megan a friend of Nick. Meg this is Mark, Shane, Nicky and Kian." "Hi, you guys sound really good." "Nothing compared to BSB." Kian stated. "Are you staying for the show?" "Yea, I'm staying here until Nick leaves." "We'll see you around." "I hope so." They walked towards the stage and Nick came running over. "Mags!" "Yea?" "Are you gonna stay backstage or planning to take a seat?" "I think I'm gonna watch the show." "Ok, here." He said handing her a first row ticket. "Thanks and good luck." She said giving him a hug and then going to her seat.

~*~Chapter 2~*~
Meg got to her seat just as Westlife got on the stage. "Hey Dublin!" Yelled Mark. "We're Westlife and is it ok if we sing a few songs for yea?" The crowd yelled louder and Meg tried to plug her ears. Bryan saw her and laughed then walked towards her. "Meg, you don't want to hear us sing?" "I do but this crowd is extremely loud." "Oh ok. Will I see you backstage?" "Of course." "Till then." He kissed her hand then hoped back up on the stage. After Westlife sang a few songs they left and the lights dimmed as the Star Wars music started. Meg looked up as they flew over her and she tried to make Nick laugh. The music for 'Larger The Life' started and the crowd got louder. Meg turned to see Bryan standing there. "Hey!" She yelled. "Hi, great show huh?" "Yea." "I thought you were gonna be backstage." "I was gonna go after this song." They stayed till the end of the song and then went backstage. Nick looked for her but she was gone and he was disappointed. Meg sat next to Bryan as they talked. When the concert was over Nick ran to his dressing room to find Meg and Bryan kissing. "Ok, can you not do this in MY dressing room?" They looked at him. "What's your problem?" "Nothing, just get out." "No, tell me why you're pissed." "Ok, want to know why?" She nodded. "You came here to spend time with me but it's obvious that you aren't." "Yea, I am. Nick, what would make you think that?" Bryan walked out of the room and Nick sat on the couch followed by Meg. "It's just we never get to hang out anymore and even when I'm home your always out with your boyfriends." "It's not like your alone, your always with Mandy." "That's different." "No, it isn't. You have to see that the world doesn't revolve around you." "I know it doesn't." "You sure don't act like it." Meg stood up. "Nick, you make the biggest deal out of everything. God, I'm leaving. We can finish this later." Meg stormed out of the room and went to find Bryan. She found him getting his jacket and about to leave. "Sorry, about Nick, he has an attitude." "It's ok, he's right, you two should spend time together." He went to leave and Meg stepped in front of him. "Don't leave." "I have to. I'm not gonna wreak your friendship." "You're not. If you leave I'm going with you, cause I can't stay here." "Megan, please talk to Nick." "He'll get over it trust me." "If you say so." She grabbed onto his arm and they left.

~*~Chapter 3~*~
Nick sat in his dressing room looking at a picture of him & Meg at the release party for their 1st CD. The two had been best friends since they were 8 and met at an audition. "Why can't it go back to the way it use to be." He said as a tear rolled down his cheek and onto the glass. Brian walked into the room and saw Nick crying. "Nick, are you ok?" "Not really, Meg and I just got into another fight." "I'm sorry, want to talk about it?" "Where do I start?" "How about when you two 1st started fighting?" "Ok, it was when we started touring a lot and we never got to see each other. When I got home she was busy with school and her boyfriend and I had a girlfriend, so we hardly got to see each other." "I know what you mean. You two should have a day to hang out or something and just have fun, then you won't have to worry about anything." "We tried that but something or someone calls, one of us gets distracted." Brian sat there with a puzzled look on his face then finally spoke. "It looks to me like you two are growing apart and I know why, both of your feelings towards each other changed and you don't know what to do." "Huh?" "You like her right?" He nodded. "And she likes you, figure it out." Brian got up. "Come one we gotta get in the van now." Nick slung his backpack on a shoulder and followed Brian out the door. Meg laughed as they walked into a restaurant as Bryan continued dancing. Once they sat down the conversation resumed and they had a lot in common. A song from “Grease” came on and Bryan began singing along with it. "I was in this play before." He said proudly. "I wish I coulda seen that." "My mum has the tape if you want to watch it." "I'd love to." "Ok, we can go there after." The 2 joked around the whole time and after the movie Bryan drove her back to her hotel. Meg lazy walked into her room to find Nick on her bed asleep. He was looking threw her diary as usual. Meg jumped on him, waking him up. "I see your back to reading my Diary again." She said snatching it out of his hand. "I actually fell asleep somewhere where you were saying how hot AJ was." "That was back when we went out dumbass." She said tossing it in her bag. "So... do you still like AJ?" "As a friend, you know that." "Yea... Where did you go?" "Out with Bryan, man is he funny." "Really?" He asked glumly. "Yea, what's that matter?" "Tired." "You can stay here if you want." She grabbed her PJ's out of her bag and went into the bathroom to change. 5 minutes later she ran out and laid next to him on the bed. He wrapped an arm around her as they both fell asleep. The next morning Meg woke up to find Nick gone. She looked on the table to find a note. “'Mags, I had to go to an interview then tape a special and I didn't want to wake you up. I'll see you at the arena at 4, meet me in my dressing room so we can discuss our pans for my day off tomorrow. Love Nicky” She smiled and then heard a knock at the door. She ran over and opened it.

"Megan, did wake you?" "No, I was up. Come on in." She opened the door wider then grabbed an outfit and went into the bathroom. When she got out he was standing in the same spot. "Did you work out the thing with Nick?" "Yea, we're hanging out all day tomorrow." "That's good." "Yea, it is. Where are we going?" "It doesn't matter, anything you want to see?" "Hmm. I don't think so." "Ok, we can just chill." Meg burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" "You-you just said chill." She laughed even harder. "Well... maybe I like that word." Meg suddenly stopped laughing. "So we are gonna chill, now?" She asked with a serious face. "Of course." She took his hand and they left the hotel then spend the day hanging out around Dublin. At 3 Meg went back to the hotel to get ready for the show and since there was an after party she got a little dressed up. Meg's hair was pulled back in a ponytail and was curly, she had on a pair of jean that hung low on her hips and then she had a tank top that ended right above her belly button. She got a cab to the arena and went right to Nick's dressing room. "Late as usual." "Hey, a girl's gotta look good." "How was your day?" "Good, I chilled with Bryan. What about you?" "Good, are you ready to party cause you look it." "I'm always ready to party." She started dancing around the room as Howie and Kevin walked into the room. "Meg, long time no see." "Hey guys, I'm practicing my dance moves." The two guys laughed as AJ came into the room; he saw Meg dancing and went over to join her. Nick shot him a look as she gave AJ a hug. "I thought I saw you last night" "You guys rocked." Meg smiled. "Well... we better get going." Kevin and Howie said leaving. "I better go get ready to, save a few dances for me." "I will." AJ left and Meg noticed that Nick had left also so she went to go to talk to Bryan. "Hi Megan." Mark said as she walked down the hall. "Hey Mark, good luck." "Thanks." She found Bryan tying his shoes. "Hey." She said sitting next to him. "Hi Megan, you look great." "Thanks, your coming tonight right?" "Only for awhile, we have to get a flight out at 12." "So your only gonna be there for a hour?" "I wish I could stay longer." "Me too." "McFadden, come on we have to warm up!" Yelled Kian. "See you after you're on." "Ok." "Good luck." She gave him a quick kiss then went back to Nick's dressing room. "Nicky, I'm back." He was sitting on a chair getting his makeup done. "Hey, I figured you'd be with Bryan." "He has to warm up." "Oh." "After 12 I'm all yours, he's going on a trip." "Good." He said under his breath. "Huh?" "Nothing." She sat on the couch as the other members of the group came into the room. "Hey peeps!" They waited for Nick to finish getting ready and then they all went to watch the opening groups on the monitor.

The show started and halfway threw Chris, one of the security guards, came over and brought Meg near the stage. "Dublin, I have a special guest. My best friend Megan, can you give her a big welcome?" Nick pulled her on the stage and he put the mic. up to her mouth. "Hey everyone, how's the show?" The crowd cheered and Nick put it back to his mouth. "She's been with the group since we started and she is the best friend I could ever wish for. Guys should we sing a song to her?" "Yea I think we should." "Yea Frack." "What song?" "I have an idea." Howie left the stage and returned with 4 sets of mothers and daughters. "Perfect Fan? Isn't this for your mom?" Meg whispered. "Yea, but it could be sung to anyone." "How about the Perfect Fan?" "Yea, even thought it is for our mothers, Meg has been there for us all the time and she is a perfect fan too." The music started and they left Nick changed the words around and sag it to Meg. After that song the concert flew by and soon they were at the after party. At the party... Meg & Bryan danced while Nick sat at the bar feeling jealous. "Nick, you sing to her and yet you still don't get the girl. Sorry, man but you never know." Said Brian hitting him in the arm. "Meg, that was nice of Nick to do that." "Yea." "Damn it! It's 12." "You could always stay." "I have to go. But I promise to call you when I get back." "Okay." She gave him a kiss and they walked to the door. The other 4 guys and the manger were waiting. "Bye guys." "Bye Megan." They kissed one last time and then get got into their van and left. Meg sulked into the club and was pulled onto the dance floor by Howie. Nick still sat at the bar patiently waiting for her to come get a drink. 20 minutes later she came over and sat next to him. "Hey Nicky, thanks for the song it was great." She gave him a hug. "The rest of the show was good too." "Thanks." "So. what are we doing tomorrow?" "You'll have to wait and see." "Come on Nicky, please tell me." "Nope, I can't." After she finished her drink he spotted AJ coming over and quickly pulled her onto the dance floor. "Carter, I didn't know you could move like this." She laughed. "It's one of my hidden talents and it's not hard to do anyway." AJ spotted them and came over; he put his hands on her hips and moved close to her. "Hey Meg." "AJ, what's up?" "One guess." "I didn't need to know that." She laughed. "Hey you asked." He got closer to her. He always has to ruin it. Nick thought to himself. After 5 songs Meg stopped dancing and made her way over to where Brian was sitting. "Mags, where you going?" "I'm beat." AJ caught up to them and put an arm across her shoulder. "Meg, got any plans for today." AJ said looking at his watch. "Actually me and Nicky do." "Oh." "So... Meg, are you and that guy going out?" Asked B-Rok. "Yea and his name is Bryan with a Y." "I think him and Frack are long lost brothers." Laughed Brian. "No, we don't have the same chin." "Besides that you do look alike." AJ's cell phone rang and he got up and left to answer it. "Anyone want a drink?" Nick asked getting up. "No thanks." Nick walked off towards the bar.

"You know your pushing him away. Right?" "No, I'm not. Why would I push him away?" "You don't know what you're feeling and your scared." "I know what I feel. Nick is like my brother and I like Bryan." "Are you sure you're not using Bryan as someone to take Nick's place?" "B, thanks for your concern but your way off." "Ok, I'll back off. It's just I don't want to see either of you get hurt." Nick sat down. "What'd I miss." "Nothing." "Nothing?" "Yea, I was just asking Brian if he knew where we were going tomorrow." "He doesn't know." Nick laughed. "Maybe I do." Nick kicked him from under the table. The rest of the night flew by and they were the only ones left. "Nick, I think we should go back now." "One more song." He ran over to the DJ booth and put on another CD. The music of 'We Like To Party' by the Vegaboys came blaring over the speakers. Meg started singing along as Nick came over and pulled her close to him. "Nicky, this is my fav song." "I know." Soon as the song ended he shut off the speakers and they got a cab back to the hotel. Meg fell asleep in the cab to Nick carried her to his room and fell asleep next to her. The next morning... Meg woke up with Nick's arms around her. She quickly sat up and let out a sigh of relief. She got up and walked into the bathroom then turned on the shower. When she was done she got out and wrapped a towel around herself. Meg walked out of the bathroom and went to where her bag would be. "Shit!" She said realizing it was Nick's room. He sat up and his eyes were glued to her. "I thought I was in my room." "Here." He said getting up and tossing her a pair of boxers and a tee shirt. "Thanks." She threw them on and his eyes bulged out. "What? It's not like you haven't seen me naked before." "Yea, when we were like 10 a few things have changed." "What, my boobs are bigger." She laughed. "And we're both past puberty." She added. "Yea, I'd think so." "Why are you so uncomfortable? I know you've seen girls naked before. We're best friends so I don't care." Nick turned his head. "I just don't want to see you getting changed." "Fine." She finished getting changed. "Ok, done. I'll be back with breakfast." She walked out of the room and Nick quickly took a shower and got dressed. When he was done he walked back into his room to see Meg standing there with 2 coffees. "Come on. Gotta get ready." She said picking up her clothes and they went to her room. She quickly put on a pair of khakis & a 3/4 shirt then did her hair. "You take too long." He whined. "And I still gotta do my make up." He rolled his eyes and laid back on the bed.

Almost a year 1/2 later... Meg sat on her couch flipping threw channels, she spotted a Westlife special they were rerunning. She watched it and then after she got up and walked to get her stuff for the gym. Her phone rang and she picked it up. "Hello?" "Mags! What's the plan for today?" "I was just on my way to the gym." "Ok, I'll meet yea there in 20." He hung up and phone and she looked a little confused. Meg put down the phone and then threw all the stuff she needed into her bag. Once she got there she signed in and went to the locker room. She put on her sports bra and a pair of spandex capris. She laced up her sneakers and grabbed her boxing gloves. Meg walked outside the locker room to see Nick in a wife beater and a pair of sweats. "Nice of you to put some clothes on." He laughed. "Be quiet, I come here all the time and this is what I wear." "Well... I'm not home a lot." She laughed and rolled her eyes. "Bring your gloves?" "Yea, why?" "I've taken a kickboxing classes for a work out." "I don't think so." "Oh your scared." She said putting on her gloves then punched him in the arm and walking towards the punching bag. "Am not, I just don't want to fight you." "Fine, then hold the bag." He stood there and held it as she kicked it punched it hard. "Woah... who are you pissed at?" "No one, in general." She gave it one last powerful kick and then switched places with Nick. He took a few swings and then they headed off towards the machines. Meg jumped on a running on and Nick took a bike next to it. He was already covered with sweat. "Meg, how do you do this almost everyday?" "I don't know, it's easy." After almost an hour they went to get changed in the locker room. "What's today's date?" "The 16th why?" "Shit, I have to pick up Bryan at the airport. What time is it?" "11." "Fuck! His flight should be landing anytime." She ran into the locker room and came out with her bag. "Call yea lata." She said before running to her car. Meg quickly got to the airport after weaving threw traffic. She tossed on her baseball hat that was in the backseat and ran inside. Bryan was standing there looking around. "Bryan!" She said running over to him. "Sorry, I'm late. I was at the gym with Nick and lost track of the time." She smiled. "Nice outfit." He laughed. "Oh be quiet, how else and I going to stay fit?" "You have a point." They waked out her car and he tossed his bags in the trunk. "When are the other guys coming?" "In 3 days, we have to record a new song for the CD and do some shots and the we're off to South America." When they got back to her house she tossed her gym bag on her bed and showed Bryan around the house. She heard a door open and looked down the stairs to see her older sister Shayla.

“Hey Shay!” Meg said running down the stairs and hugging her sister. “Hey, how was Ireland? “Good.” She smirked. “OMG! You and Nick finally hooked up?” She shook her head no. “No?” “Hey Bryan, come down.” “Brian Littrell? God, you’re a little Backstreet skank.” “Not Brian, this is Bryan with a y.” “Oh, I’m Shayla. Meg’s big sis.” She said shaking his hand. “So... did she pick you up in Ireland?” “Kinda, I’m in the group that opened for BSB there.” “Man, you and Nick could be twins.” Laughed Shay as she walked into the kitchen. “You’re the 2nd person that has said that.” Meg said following her. “Shay, where have you been for the last 4 months?” “Here and there.” “Where’s that? Mom has been worried sick.” “Yea, and...” “Shay, you need to apologize.” “For what? Falling in love with a guy and loosing it to him? God, people need to stop dwelling on that it’s been 6 years.” “Yea and Mom is still worried for you.” “Oh please! She’s worried for me? But she doesn’t care you screwed half of Florida!” “I did not!” “Did you want me to list them?” Bryan stood in the doorway not knowing what to do. “Ok, 1st there was Shawn, Freddie, Mike then Paul, AJ, Dan, and then James, Ken, Ales who’s next? Oh he’s standing right there or did I already miss that?” Meg slapped her and ran up the stairs with Bryan right behind her. “She’s such a bitch.” Meg sobbing falling onto her bed. Bryan laid next to her and wrapped his arms around her. “What she said isn’t true. Just so you don’t think I’m a slut.” “I don’t think that.” “To tell you the truth I never went out with a Paul, Dan, or Alex. I went out with a Shawn, Freddie, and Mike in high school then AJ for 2 years on and off. Then James and Kenny last year.” “You didn’t have to tell me that.” “I just wanted to say the truth.” A few seconds later Shay walked into the room. “Meg, I’m sorry. I’m leaving.” Meg turned her head to look at her. “No, I’m sorry I have to worry about you all the time.” Shayla turned and walked out. Meg got off the bed and went to the top of the stairs. “Call mom and tell her where you’ve been and that you are ok.” “Maybe.” Shay said closing the door and Meg walked into the bathroom. “I look like crap.” She whispered. Bryan wrapped her arms around her waist. “No, you don’t.” “Yea, I do. So... anything particular you want to see or do?” “Disney might be cool but I promised the guys I wouldn’t go without them.” “What about Bush Gardens or Sea World?” “It’s up to you.” “Let me take a shower while you decide because if we’re going to Sea World we can stay with one of the guys.” She pushed him out of the bathroom and closed the door. Meg quickly showered and got dressed then when she was done she went into her room and got ready. She went downstairs to see Bryan asleep on the couch so she walked into the other room to call Nick.

~*~Chapter 9~*~
"Hello?" A girl answered. "Is Nick there?" "Meg, is that you?" "Yea." "Hey It's Mandy, here he is." Thank God. She said to herself. Mandy considered them friends while Meg couldn't stand her. "Mags!" "Hey Nicky!" "I figured you'd be with what's his name." "He's sleeping." "Oh." "So you're back with Mandy?" "Yea." "Shay, show up awhile ago." "What happened?" "We had a huge fight and she said I slept around." "What did you say back?" "I slapped her." Nick laughed. "It wasn't funny, I'm worried about her." "Don't be." "Someone has to." "No, I don't mean it that. I mean don't-forget it I can't say it right." Meg heard giggling in the background and too it as a queue to hang up. "I'll talk to yea lata." "Bye Mags!" "Bye Nick." She heard a click. "I love you." She whispered into the dial tone. Meg walked into the room and Bryan was still asleep so she went up the stairs then went right to her top drawer. She pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter then grabbed her keys that lay on the night stand. She then wrote a note Bryan, if you wake up while I'm gone I went to the store to grab some stuff. I'll be back soon ~ Meg. She put it on the coffee table and went out to her car. The second she turned it on she cranked Limp Bizket's 'Rollin' and drove to her favorite spot. She grabbed her pack out of the car and took one out. Meg flicked her lighter and inhaled. "I so shouldn't be doing this now." She said looking at the ground. Meg had quit 6 months prior thanks to Nick but the stress was just too much. She inhaled again and felt someone's presence. "Mags, I thought you quit for good." She turned to see Nick. "You scared the shit out of me." Meg said bringing it to her lips again. "I'm waiting for an answer." "It's stress." He took it out of her hand and tossed it in the lake. "No, if you finish one then you'll start again." Nick grabbed the pack out of her hand and shoved it in his pocket. "Nick, if I want more I can get some." She said pissed. "Mags, I don't want you dropping dead at 30 leaving a family behind." Nick stated looking into her eyes. They stood their lie that for awhile before their lips met. When they broke apart Meg backed up. "That, shouldn't have happened. I'm sorry." She ran over to her car and got in as Nick sat on the rock and put his head in hi hands. While driving Meg wiped the tears out of her eyes and by the time she got back to the house she was full out balling. Meg slumped into the hose with a bag full of junk food. She tossed the ice cream in the freezer then left the rest on the table as she walked out to the patio she lit up. Bryan walked out sleepily. "Meg, what's the matter?" He asked noticing her puffy eyes.

"Nothing, I'm fine." "You should have woken me up." "No, you need your sleep." "While you were gone Nick called he said to call him because you two need to talk then Brian called and invited us to a party at his house tonight at 6 then he said we can stay over if we want." "Good, it's 4 now so we should get going." Meg got up and went into her room tossing things in a bag then went down the stairs to see Bryan already. They got into her car and headed to the party. Once they got to Orlando they stopped to bring some stuff then headed to Brian's house. "Meg, how you doin'?" He said giving her a hug. "Ok, I guess. How was the rest of the tour?" "Good, but the fun died when you left and Mandy came." "I know what you mean." He showed them the guest room then they headed out to the yard to join everyone else. An hour later Nick showed up and Brian noticed the tension between him and Meg. "Nick, where's your bitch?" AJ asked from his seat by the pool. "We broke up, the feelings weren't mutual." He said looking at Meg. "Cool, I hated her anyway." Brian got Meg alone and had to say something. "Meg, what's with you and Nick?" "Nothing." "I can tell by the way he looks at you." "We're fine." Meg said walking over to Bryan and gave him a kiss before walking over to where AJ & Amanda were smoking and pulled out her pack. "Taking up a bad habit?" "Yea, stress." The three of them sat there puffing away then Nick came over. "Meg, can we please talk in private?" "Whatever." She said putting out her cigarette and followed him into the kitchen. He stood in front of her and looked into her eyes before finally speaking. "Mags, what's happening to us?" "I don't know." "Meg, I think I've fallen in love with you." "Nick, this can't be happening." "Why? Why can't it We're two people-" "Nick, we're best friends." "Things change-" "I don't want it to, I love Bryan." Those words broke his heart. "Megan, you kissed me back and I know you felt what I felt so stop lying to yourself and him." She turned and walked out to the yard. "Bryan, I'm going up to the room." "Want me to come?" "Naww... you can stay and hang out." Meg walked back into the kitchen past Nick who was wiping tears out of his eyes and right up to the guest room. Meg laid on the bed and let the tears stream down her face as she looked out the window to see Nick leaving. She walked into the bathroom, her mascara was all over her face. Meg turned on the water and washed her face before changing her shirt and went back outside. Bryan pulled her onto his lap. "Are you ok?" "Yea, I'm fine." He kissed her cheek. "Nick left. He seemed really upset." Meg ignored the comment and watched as the other couples left. "Rok, if you two want to spend some quality time we can go out." "Whatever you want." "Ok." They walked out to Meg's car. "Where do you want to go?" "How about Sea World?" "Sounds good." The rest of the drive was quiet until they hit a red light.

"Megan, if you don't mind me asking... what were you and Nick arguing about?" "Everything. we're growing apart and the fights are way to constant." "Ok. I thought it might be something else." "No, that's it." When they got to Sea World they got their tickets and went inside. The two walked hand in hand around till they saw everything then Meg spotted Mandy sobbing on a bench. She tried to walk away before being spotted but it was too late, she came running over. "Meg, have you seen Nick?" "Not since 6ish. Why?" "We broke up and I really want to talk to him. He wasn't even upset till he left Brian's." "Yea, me and him got into another fight." "If you talk to him, tell him that I still love him and to call me?" "Sure." She walked away as Meg rolled her eyes and they walked back to the car. They went out to eat and then walked on beach only to see Nick. He looked at her as the tears rolled down his cheeks. "Go talk to him, I'll get a cab back." "Ok." Meg walked over and took a seat next to him. "I saw Mandy, she wants me to tell you that she still loves you and to call her. I'm surprised you didn't tell her." "I didn't because I knew she would freak out and start saying shit." "Nick, did you really mean what you said?" "Yea, I did. We don't have to do anything about it-" He was cut off by her finger on his lips. "Nick, I think I feel the same was but I like Bryan that way too." He put his head in his hands. "Great figures, when I finally fall in love-" He was cut off by her lips on his. He kissed her back and they pulled away breathless. "Your confusing me." "I'm confused myself. I don't know who to choose." "Why don't you think it out and then call me when you figure it out?" "Ok." "Till then." They kissed and he got up and walked away. She pulled out the pack again and lit up knowing her life would never be the same with whatever choice she makes. Meg sat there for a few hours finishing the pack and then headed back to Brian's house. Meg went right up to the room ad Bryan was sitting on the bed. "How did it go?" "Fine, we're just going to spend sometime apart." She sat on the other side of the bed and looked at the floor. "If you don't want to stay here we can leave." "It's your choice." "Let's go you don't feel comfortable." "If you really want to stay I can cope." "It's fine we can go." "Ok." She grabbed her bag and went down the stairs followed by Bryan. "Rok, we're gonna head back to Tampa." "Ok, see yea next week." "Bye." They walked out to the car and put the stuff in. The drive took half the time since there was no traffic, when they got back to her house Meg tossed her bag on the floor and headed towards her room. She laid on the bed and Bryan stood in the doorway. "Me, are you ok?" "Yea, just confused." "About what?" "Us." He took a seat next to her. "What about us?" "If we're in love or not. I'm pretty sure I m but then I've never been in love like this before-" He kissed her and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Meg, I know I love you and if you don't now then we can take it slow." Meanwhile... Nick stood in his living room trying to get Mandy to leave.
"Mandy, I don't love you anymore-" "Who do you love?" "None of your business." "I have the right to know." "Do you really want to now?" She nodded and he looked at her. "Megan-" "Meg-Megan, Nick don't you get it? She has a boyfriend and I seen them together their happy." "No, they’re not." "Yea, they are." "Then why does she always complains to me about how she wishes he was closer-" "Nick, listen to yourself! He tours-you tour, either way she isn't going to be happy!" "I can make her happy!" He yelled walking into the kitchen. "Nick, she needs someone who can be there for her all the time." "You just saying this so I'll change my mind-" “Yea, and because I don't want her to get hurt like this!" She yelled. "I'm not going to hurt her, I love Meg!" "Don't do it, your job is going to hurt her. But don't listen to me, I'm just one of your ex's!" She said turned and walking out "Good cause that's what your going to stay!" He yelled as the door slammed. Nick walk into his office, he never used and looked at the picture of him and Meg on the desk. It was right before him and the guys left for the European part of the Into The Millennium Tour, back when the were inseparable, before she met him, and he lost her. A tear fell on the frame a he sat on the chair, Nick sat there staring at the hone waiting for her to call hoping she would choose him. The next week past by slowly for him but quickly for Meg and before she knew it she was in the airport saying good-bye. It was the night Howie's club was opening and she new Nick would be there so she would have to avoid him at all costs. That night she looked in the mirror of her now darkened hair and green eyes. He would never know it was her and she would have more time to figure out a plan, she felt horrible about doing it but it was the only thing she could think of. Meg walked into the club and talked to the other guys but no sign of Nick. She let out a sigh of relief and too out the contacts that were making he eyes itchy. Meg kicked back the rest of the night having fun at 2 she left and headed back to Tampa. The next morning Meg was awaken by the doorbell. She tossed her hair into a messy bun and went to the door. There stood Nick, he didn't say anything but put his hand on her cheek then kissed her. She backed up and looked at him then turned and went into the kitchen. "Meg, don't do this." "Do what?" "Leave me hanging like this. I need you in my life." "Nick, everything is different." "Only one thing, and that's how I feel about you." "Nick, I don't know. I really don't." "Then just let me love you." "What about-" He put a finger to her lips. "Don't worry about him." He leaned down and kissed her then took her hand and started towards the stairs. That night Nick had to go to a meeting and left Meg alone to think of what happened. Shayla walked into the backyard to find Meg sitting in a lounge chair gazing at the sky.

"Sis, your stirring up more shit then me." Shayla laughed taking a seat net to her. "Shay, I didn't mean for it to happen." She whispered. "No one every does. So how yea gonna pick?" "I love them both." "That's what I thought. Keep it up then." "But it's not right." "Then come to Mexico with me." "Shay, I can't run from my problems." "Then hide like I am." "Shay, I heard you talked to mom." "Yea, we went out to lunch." "Good, she's so much better now that you two are talking." "She seems it. But you-your hair!" "I needed a change." "I say we go get something pierced." "No, but I'll go with you." "Cool, go get dressed and let's go." Shayla pushed Meg towards the door and she went inside only to be stopped by the ringing phone. "Hello?" "Hey Megan!" "Hi Bryan." "How are yea?" "Good." "So are you and Nick talking yet?" "Yea, we hung out today." "Great, I was just planning when we can see each other." "That's good, sorry Bryan, but Shay's here and I'm going with her to get a piercing." "Ok, talk to yea later." "Ok." "Love you." "Love yea too." She hung up the phone the words barely came out. "Meg, you've made your decision." Shay commented from the doorway. "And who did I choose?" "Nick, you were using Bryan, wishing he was Nick." "Shay, I don't think so. I like Bryan for who he is not that he reminds me of Nick." "Whatever, it's you life" Meg went to her room and put on a pair of jeans and a tee shirt then she walked down the stairs. "Finally." Shay said heading out the door. "Your really funny." Meg said walking out after her. After his meeting Nick went to Meg's house and she wasn't there so he called her cell, no answer. Nick started thinking that he scared her off. He dialed Brian's # as he sped off towards his house. Brian sleepily answered his phone. "Rok, I think I scared her off." He said in one breath. "Nick, calm down. You didn't scare her off maybe she went to the store." "Will you come and talk?" "Yea, why don't you head to AJ's he might know where she is. I'll meet you there." Brian hung up the phone as Nick pulled off at the next exit. Nick pulled up at AJ's, he wasn't home either. Nick rested his head on the wheel as the tears poured from his eyes. AJ's car pulled up and Nick jumped out. "Bone, do you know where Meg is?" "No, but I saw Shayla at a party down the street." "What house?" "135." Nick ran towards the party and frantically looked around the house for Shayla and saw her jumping into the pool. "Shayla!" She turned around in the water. "Hey Nick, if your looking for Meg she left." "Where?" "On a plane to no idea where. She said something about feeling sorry and needs time to think. Bryan called so she might be with him." "Thanks." Nick mopped out of the house and headed back to AJ's, by time he got there tears were flowing freely. Brian looked at him and knew she had left.

"I screwed it up." He said wiping his tears with the back of his hand. "She left?" "That's what Shayla said, I fucking pushed her toward HIM!" He mumbled getting into his car. "I'm gonna go see if Shayla's right then I heading home." Nick pulled out the driveway then Brian & AJ looked at each other. "I'll go stay with Nick and you go talk to Shay, I'll call you with plan and if she really left-" "Go after her." "Yea, want me to call one of the other guys?" "Nope, I got it covered." AJ headed towards the party and Brian went after Nick. Meanwhile... Meg rested her head against a pillow on the plane that was heading to Washington. She was going to think at her uncle's cabin then when she had it all figured out she'd tell them. Little did she know Shayla had a plan of her own which included Bryan and Nick . Nick pulled up to his house still crying, he spotted a note on his door and ran for it. Nick, Sorry about the confusion. Meet me at my uncle's cabin. Here's the directions and a ticket. Love Meg. He turned his head to see Brian pulling into his driveway. "Rok, she picked me." He said pulling out the other end of the driveway. Brian shook his head and headed back to his house. AJ couldn't find Shayla so he returned home and awaited Brian's call. AJ was half asleep when the phone rang so he jumped. "AJ, she picked him." "Thank God." "See yea." They hung up the phone each one letting out a sign of relief. Bryan had just gotten off his plane to NY and was now getting on the plane to Washington thinking I wonder what she has to tell me. The hours seemed pass by quickly as Meg sat on her porch looking at the stars. Two cabs pulled up at the same time Meg's mouth dropped as she answered her cell. "Now's you chance pick." Then she heard a click. They looked at each other strangely then Meg stood up. "I didn't plan on this but I guess it's better this way. Come on in." She opened the door and they went inside to a small living room type area. "Ok, here goes nothing. Nick you know this part but Bryan. this is so hard to say. I went into our relationship with feelings for Nick, but not for you to take his place. I liked you as a person. the past year 1/2 have been great but the day you came to FL it changed." Nick shifted his weight nervously as a confused looked crossed Bryan's face. "When me and Shay got into the fight, I was upset and when I found you asleep I called Nick and for the first time hearing him with Mandy made me extremely jealous. I went up to a lake to think, the lake where me and Nick always went to and he was there. We kissed-" "That was it you could have just told me on the phone." "That's not it. That night when we got into a fight it made me think, then that night at the beach. we talked and he wanted me to pick. I was confused because I loved you both and then yesterday he showed up and-" "We ended up sleeping together. It wasn't her idea it was mine." Bryan looked hurt and pissed at the same time.

"How could you?" Bryan asked to Nick. "I love Meg." "But so don't I." Bryan said getting in Nick's face. "First off it wasn't just me, Meg had her choice." "But you knew she was with me." "Know what? Just back up!" Nick said pushing him. "We were on our way of getting together." Nick spat. Bryan shoved Nick back sending him into a table knocking it over. Nick got up and punched him in the stomach. "Nick, cut it out!” Meg yelled as he punched Bryan again. Nick froze and Bryan held his stomach. "Know what I thought I had made the right choice but obviously I didn't. Nick, just leave." "Meg, don't do this." "I already did, bye Nick." She said opening the door. "I'll always love you." He said walking out. She closed the door and went over to Bryan, Meg fixed the table then took a seat. "I'm so sorry." Meg said looking at the floor. He took the chair next to her and lifted her chin with his hand. "Meg, it's ok. We all make mistakes." "But what I did was horrible. If I was you I'd be long gone by now." "I know what it feels like to have someone walk out on you so that's why I'm here." Her phone rang and Meg answered. "Did yea do it?" "I tried to and it ended in a fight so my choice changed." "So... you picked Bryan?" "Yea." "Fine, but I don't want to hear you bitch when Nick goes back to Mandy." "Trust me I won't and from what I heard for her she isn't gonna take him back." "I bet." Shayla laughed. "By the way I'm moving back in." "Oh God." Meg said laughing. "Party time! When you get back we're having a huge one." "Yea..." "I'll let you go and if Nick comes I'll make up a lie." "Thanks." "Bye." Meg hung up the phone. "Bryan, if your missing anything you can go." "Nothing but a few rehearsals. I'll go back tomorrow." "Ok, that's when I'll leave too." "You could always come with me." "I wish I could but I gotta stay with Shayla, she needs someone to watch out for her." The two talk for awhile before falling asleep on the couch. The next morning Meg showered and got dressed then called a cab as Bryan got ready. His flight was leaving 20 minutes before hers so she'd have a chance to call her mother and Shay. The ride to the airport was silent, they both dreaded good-bye. The two checked their bags in then slowly walked to his gate that was already boarding. "I'm gonna miss you, Meg." "I'll miss you too." "Don't worry we'll see each other soon." They kissed and he walked to the plane trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. Meg watched the plan leave then called her mother as she walked to her gate. "Hello?" "Hi mom." "Megan, how are you?" "Good." "Nick just stopped by looking for you. Is everything ok with you two?" "No, not really. We got into an argument then him & Bryan got into fight." "Sorry honey, thanks for talking to Shayla." "It's nothing, you too need each other. I gotta go my plane's here." "Ok bye." She clicked off her phone and handed her ticket to the flight attendant.

Once getting to her seat Meg put on headphones and drifted off to sleep. When the plan landed she wandered off to see Shayla waiting for her. "Meg!" "Shay!" She said hugging her sister. The walked to the door as they saw a group of girls rushing a guy with sunglasses & a baseball hat. When he saw Meg he pushed his way threw the crowd and ran after her. "Meg!" "Fuck me." She whispered as Shayla burst out laughing. She kept walking. "Meg, I love you. Please forgive me!" He said as the whole airport turned and looked at them. "Nick, leave my sister alone." "Meg, please." "No, I made my choice." "Mags-" "Don't call me that!" "Fine, Megan-please give me one more chance." "No, for years I tried to keep my feelings inside now I've found someone else and I'm sure you can too." Meg turned and walked out of the airport with Shayla at her side. Shayla started the car and Meg got in. "Party tomorrow. I invited all the guys except Nick-" "Like he won't show up. You can invite him but warn him to keep his distance." "Ok, how's Bryan" "Good, he wanted me to go on tour with him." "Girl, you should've went." "There's always a next time." "True. Yea got to meet my man." "Do tell." "Rick, he's 28 blond hair & blue eyes, great in bed." "More then I needed to know." "I just thought I'd share." Meg rolled her eyes as they pulled into the driveway. The next day came too quick and before long Meg was sitting at the kitchen table with 2 empty beers in front of her. She saw Nick looking at her from across the room but she avoided eye contact. Brian and Leigh came over. "Meg, are you ok?" "Yea, fine." She tried to get up and fell. "Here we'll help you to your room." The each got on a side and walked her to the stairs. For the next to months Shay had constant parties and Meg found herself wandering around Tampa till the early hours in the morning. One day she ended up on Nick's doorstep soaked from the rain. Meg was about to leave when the door opened. "Meg." "Hi Nick." "Come on in, your soaked." She walked in and he wrapped a towel around her. "I think you still have some clothes in the guest room." She walked up the stairs and changed then went back down stairs to see Nick waiting for her. "The reason I came was to sort this whole thing out." "Ok." She sat next to him on the couch and had no idea where to start. "Ok, Nick we've been friends for almost 11 years and I don't want to loose that over this." "Ok." "I know it may seem weird at first but we can work around it." "Ok, if it makes you happy that's what we'll do that." For the rest of the night they talked and watched TV, it all seemed to be going back to normal. Early in the morning she went home to find Shayla wandering in the living room.
"Naughty, naughty." Shay said walking past her and picking up some empty cups. "Cheating already." "No, we worked it out. We're gonna stay friends." "For how long? Till you get board with Bryan?" "Shay, go to bed your really drunk." "No, I'm pregnant." "No way." "Yea, tell me which is better." She said pulled a few tests out of a bag on the table. "I won't let you do this alone. Give me one." She handed her one and they went and took the test then they both waited in the kitchen for the results.

The five minutes crept by. "Come on, Shay, don't worry your not pregnant." Meg looked at the tests and her face turned pale. "What?" Shayla said getting up and looked at the two tests. "Your-your not pregnant. I am." She whispered dropping the tests on the floor as the tears started to run down her face. "No, you must have mixed them up." "No, I didn't. This one's mine." "Oh shit, we're going to get this checked out for sure." Shayla grabbed her arm and they got into the car as Meg started spazing. "Fuck, Shay, this can't be happening. OMG! Who would be the father?" They stopped at a red light. "I'm gonna be one of those hoes on Jenny Jones who doesn't know who the mother of her baby is." "Meg, calm down. It's probably Bryan's you only slept with Nick once." "Your right." When they got to the hospital they took the tests and then in 3 days they had appointments to tell them the results. The days were long as Meg tried to keep herself busy, she couldn't eat or sleep. The Backstreet Boys next tour was starting the day of her appointment so after she had to go to the show and after party. The show was great ad the girls went to the after party trying to act as normal as possible. Meg felt dizzy and slashed some water on her face when she got home. A few days later it was here and Bryan's 2 year anniversary and she was going to Ireland the next day. She woke up and tried to put on a pair of jeans and then looked in the mirror. "God I look so fat." "Come on Meg we can go to the mall." "Shay, my plane leaves in like 3 hours." "Then hurry up." Meg put on a pair of sweat pants and a tee shirt and they went to the mall buying everything that Meg liked. When they got back she tossed her new clothes in a bag then they headed to the airport. "Meg, tell him for you and my niece/nephew's sake." "Don't worry I will." "You better or after this kid is born I'll kick your ass." Meg laughed as she headed to her plane, the ride flew by and son she was walking off the plane. She spotted Bryan and gave him a hug then a kiss. They went back to him house and he could tell something was wrong. "Meg, what's the matter?" "Nothing, just tired." "Ok, then go to bed we have a big day tomorrow." She went to bed and Bryan called Shayla. "Hello?" "Hi Shayla, it's Bryan." "What's wrong with Maggie?" “She has to tell you something.” "Tell me what?" "She must be waiting for tomorrow. If she doesn't tell you call me and I will." "What is it?" "It's good news. Don't worry." "Ok." "Bye." She hung up the phone and Bryan tried to think of what it could be. The next morning they walked around Dublin before coming back for supper. Meg put on a knee length black shirt and a light blue 3/4 shirt. She left her hair down and put on a little make-up. Bryan looked good with khakis and a sweater. They went to a restaurant and sat towards the back. After ordering Meg was about to tell him when he spoke up. "Meg, I'm so nervous right now. Megan will you marry me?" He asked getting on a knee. The tears fell from her eyes as she nodded yea. He wiped her tears as they shared a soft kiss. "Ok, now for my big surprise Bryan we're having a baby." "We are?" He asked excitedly. "Yea." His reaction surprised her. “This is great now we can have a family.” He smiled calling his band mates. "After we eat we have to go tell my parents. They'll be thrilled." "My mom was, Shay told her. I'm surprised she didn't tell the guys." "This is just so exciting. Meg, I love you so much." He said kissing her. "I love you too."

Chapter 1

10 years later... Meg sat at the kitchen table frosting a cake for Connor's 10th birthday, he had a party the day before but the cake got shoved off the table during an argument between Shayla and her husband, Roy. Rebecca, Meg's 7 year old daughter, came running into the room. "Mommy-Mommy, daddy's home!" The little girl squealed. "Ok, give me a minute." Meg pushed out her chair and held her enlarged stomach while walking down the hallway. Rebecca jumped into her fathers arms and Meg put her hands on her back. "I've missed the two ladies in my life." He said giving Meg a kiss. "And Connor's party, you should've seen the fight." "Worse then the last one?" "10 times worse." "Where is the birthday boy?" "At Brian's house playing basketball. How was the tour?" "Very tiring but good." Meg walked back into the kitchen and finished frosting Connor's cake before calling Brian's house. "Hello?" 8 year old Emily answered. "Hi Emily, can you tell Connor to come home for supper?" "Sure Auntie Meg." "Thanks Emily." "Bye." Meg walked over to the stove but was stopped by Bryan. "No, you can rest I'll finish." "I can do it." "I'm serious, you can rest." She sat back down at the table a Rebecca came into the kitchen. "When are we going to see Auntie Susan?" She asked leaning on her mother. "In a few months when we go to Ireland on vacation." "Good, then I get to see all my friends over there." "When's the last time you wrote to them?" "3 weeks ago." "Why don't you write to them tonight after supper?" "Good idea." The doorbell rang and Rebecca ran to get it. A few minutes later in walked Connor all muddy. "Excuse me, weren't you coming home at 4, it's 6 now?" "Dad!" He said giving his father a hug. "Don't avoid my question." "I was but me, Uncle Brian, and Kevin were playing football." "Did you tell them you should have been here at 4?" "No, mom chill' it's my birthday." "Don't talk to your mother that way." "And go take a shower and change before you come sit at the table." He rolled his eyes and walked up the stairs. "I swear he doesn't have any responsibility for someone his age." "He's only 10." "But still when I was 10 I was auditioning for TV shows and movies." "But girls are more mature then boys." "Mommy, when's the baby gonna be born?" "Soon." "I can't wait to be a big sister, I won't boss the baby around like Connor does to me." "Good, you should never boss people around." Connor came down the stairs still muddy. "Mom, I told you to wash my blue shorts and gray shirt!" "Excuse me, Connor, I don't like the way your talking to me. You can wear something else." "But I was going to go play video games at Nick's house!" "Now your not, I don't want you talking to your mother that way." "I hate both of you, I wish you weren't my parents!" He yelled before running up the stairs.

Chapter 2
Meg rested her head in her hands as the tears started to fall from her face. "He's been acting this way since you left, I think he needs to start hanging around more with people his own age and he's gonna cut this singing thing till he shapes up his attitude." "We can let him cool off and he can eat later." Bryan said sitting next to Meg. "Know what, Rebecca, why don't you go eat in the living room and go watch some TV." She took her plate and cup then walked into the other room as Bryan brought his chair closer to Meg. "Meg, it's ok." "No it isn't. I promised myself I would never let my kids get out of control and look what happened." She sobbed. "Meg, don't get upset it isn't good for the baby." She stopped crying and grabbed her side as she felt a sudden pain. "Oh boy." She said as the pain increased. "Meg, come on we're gonna go get you checked out." "No, I'm fine." Bryan ran into the other room and picked up the phone he dialed Brian + Leighann's number. "Hello?" "Hi Brian, can Rebecca and Connor stay with you for while I want to take Meg to the hospital." "Sure, I'll be waiting at the door." "Thanks." Bryan hung up the phone. "Rebecca, come on your going to go over to Uncle Brian's house for awhile. Connor, get down here your going to Uncle Brian's." "Good!" He yelled coming to the stairs and walking out pushing Rebecca down a few steps. "Mr. We're having a talk when we get back." "Whatever." He said walking next door to Brian's house. Meg stood in the hallway holding her side as Bryan helped her out to the car. They got to the hospital and immediately were seen. "Meg, it looks to me like this baby's ready to be born." "But I thought it wasn't due for another 2 months." "It isn't but it's time." "Bryan, please go call Brian and have him tell the kids and then can you call Shay?" "Be right back." He walked into the hallway and took out his cell hone and called Shayla and told her to come then called Brian and he was going to bring the kids the next day. Bryan walked into the room. "Shayla's on her way and Brian said he'd bring the kids tomorrow." The nurses wheeled Meg down the hallway as Bryan held her hand, Meg tried to stay calm by breathing but soon gave up. Shayla came running down the hallway and took her other hand. "Hey Meg, your early." "No kidding, I swear if it wasn't for Connor's sudden attitude change." A couple of seconds later before she was moved into the other room Nick came down the hallway. "Meg, I thought you weren't due for two months." "She wasn't but Connor's attitude got her mad and the stress." "Nick, by the way next time he asks to come over you house say your busy." "Huh?" "He's in trouble, being disrespectful." "Oh. He's in the car, he didn't tell me." "Can you bring him back to Brian's?" "Sure, no prob. I have somewhere to go later anyway." "Thanks." "Mrs. McFadden, can we go in the room now?" "Yea." They wheeled her threw the doors and Nick turned and went back to the car. He opened the door and got in looking at Connor.

Chapter 3

"Your mother was just like this when she was your age. A spoiled brat just like you." "I'm not spoiled. If I was my dad would be spending time with me." "Is that it? You don't like him being away?" "Yea, he never has anytime for me and more. It's always Rebecca or the baby that's on the way, it's like I'm not even there." "I know what that feels, I had a brother and 3 sisters but when my parents were busy I just worked on something positive. You have to help out and the reason they don't always have time for you is that they know you can handle yourself and they need you to help out." "Really?" "Yea. Now after today I want you to help out and be super good so you can come hang out with me ok?" "Yea, I will." "Shake on it?" Connor smiled as they shook and he got out of the car and went into Brian's. Nick sighed and went back to his, he didn't have any plans only to sit around and listen to his girlfriend bitch about how he never wants to do anything. Nick walked into the house and went right to the studio and pulled out a photo album. Meanwhile... Bryan paced the waiting room as Shayla tried to clam him down. "Bryan, stop it this is your third not your first." "I know but I'm just worried." "Stay strong for her." He sat down next to her as her mind drifted back to the conversation a little less then 11 years ago. *Flashback* "Come on, Shay, don't worry your not pregnant." Shayla was worried that she was pregnant so Meg agreed to take a home test with her so she wouldn't be so nervous. Meg looked at the tests and her face turned pale. "What?" Shayla said getting up and looked at the two tests. "Your-your not pregnant. I am." She whispered dropping the tests on the floor as the tears started to run down her face. "No, you must have mixed them up." "No, I didn't. This one's mine." "Oh shit, we're going to get this checked out for sure." Shayla grabbed her arm and they got into the car as Meg started spazing. "Fuck, Shay, this can't be happening. OMG! Who would be the father?" They stopped at a red light. "I'm gonna be one of those hoes on Jenny Jones who doesn't know who the mother of her baby is." "Meg, calm down. It's probably Bryan's you only slept with Nick once." "Your right." *End Flashback*

Chapter 4
A few hours later the doctor came out of the room. "Congrats daddy, you have a new baby boy." They doctor said handing him his new son. "How's Meg?" "A little warn out but besides that she's fine. The baby's healthy." "Thanks so much." The doctor brought the baby down to the nursery and Bryan held Meg's hand as she weakly smiled at him as they wheeled her back to her room. "We had a baby boy, what do you want to name him?" She asked half asleep. "Just rest we can decide later." "Ok..." She closed her eyes as Shayla walked into the room. "I gotta get going, congrats." She whispered. "Thanks." She left and Bryan sat there looking at his wife. After awhile he called Brian's. "Hello?" He nervously answered. "Hey Brian, she just had a baby boy." "Congrats!" "Thanks." "Rebecca is bouncing off the walls she wants to see the baby." "Tell her to rest and tomorrow she can." "Ok, see yea later." "Thanks for watching them." "Anytime." He hung up the phone and walked down to the nursery. Bryan looked threw the glass at his son as he peacefully slept. Bryan fell asleep in his chair and the next morning was awoken by Rebecca shaking him. "Daddy, I want to see the baby." "Ok, give me a second." Meg smiled as Brian, Leighann, Emily, Brian Jr. and then Connor walked into the room. "Mom & dad I'm sorry for the way I acted." Connor said giving them each a hug. "And your the best parents a kid could ask for." "Let me guess Nick had a talk with you?" Meg said. "Yea, he explained everything to me and I finally get it." "Good." "Can I see the baby?" "Yea, let me go get him." Rebecca walked around the room looking at things. "Nosey rosy, don't touch anything." Rebecca smiled and sat next to her mother on her bed. Bryan came back with the baby. "Can I hold him?" "Not now, maybe when we get home." "Can I?" "Sure." Connor stood next to Bryan as he put the baby in his arms. After fixing them so his arms were right Connor smiled. "Hi baby, I'm your big brother." "And I'm your big sister." Rebecca said walking over to them. Connor handed the baby back to Bryan and then Meg took the baby. "Ok, what about a name?" "What about Connor?" Connor asked. "No silly, that's your name." "Ok what about Daniel?" "That's a good name." Bryan nodded. "Brian and Leighann, thanks for watching them for us." "It was fun. Their great kids. Rebecca and Emily kept themselves busy going threw my make-up." Leighann laughed. "Mommy, we looked beautiful." "I bet." "We can show you again when you come home." "I'll remember that." "Baba." Brian Jr. said tugging on his father's pants and Leighann picked him up. "If we're keeping you from anything-" "Your not." "Only your Dr.'s appointment." Laughed Leighann. "If you want to leave the kids here I can watch them." "No, it's ok. I have to take them to camp then off for a reading." They gave her a hug. "Thanks so much." "See yea later." They left and Connor sat on the bed.

Chapter 5
"Mom, when are you coming home?" A nurse walked in. "When ever your ready, you and the baby are fine. Did you pick a name?" "Daniel Patrick." "Ok, can I see Daniel Patrick and go make sure that birth certificate is ready?" Meg handed the nurse the baby and Bryan handed her a bag that Leighann brought. Meg walked into the bathroom to change as Bryan tried to get Rebecca and Connor to calm down. Shayla and Roy along with George their 6 year old son walked into the room with balloons and a car seat. "Congrats, sis." Shayla said hugging her and handing her the balloons and car seat. "Thanks." "The baby is so cute." "His name is Daniel." Connor said proudly. "And did you name him that?" "Yea." The group of them walked to the entrance as a nurse fussed with Meg to get in a wheelchair. "I'm fine." "But it's hospital policy." "I'm fine." They stepped outside and cameras snapped in their face. Rebecca buried her head in Bryan's leg as Connor smiled. Meg put her head down as they walked to the car. She put Daniel in his car seat and Connor sat next to him. Shayla, Roy, and George followed them home once they got there they walked inside. "Surprise!" "Wow, thanks everyone." Among the crowd was Brian, Leighann, Brian Jr., Emily, Nick, his girlfriend Shelly, Howie, his wife Tonia, and their twin daughters Jenny & Jessica, Kevin, Kristen, and their 4 year-old Tommy, Amanda, Robbie who was 8, AJ, Susan, Mark, Shane, Kian, Nicky, Georgina, Aaron, BJ, Leslie, Angel, Jane & Bob, and then her mother. Meg made her way around as everyone talked about the baby. Connor walked into the kitchen to see his cake. He looked at it as Nick walked in. "Hey Connor." "Hey." "See your mom could never forget your birthday. Plus now you and Daniel have the same one." "Yea." Shayla walked in and looked at them standing next to each other. "Hey guys." She said trying to act cool. "Opps... I forgot my cup." She said as a reason to leave. She let out a sigh of relief as she leaned against the wall. Meg walked out. "Shay, what's the matter?" "We need to talk." She pulled her down the stairs into the family room. "You know when you found out you were having Connor?" "Yea, why?" "I was just thinking, Connor looks a lot like Nick when he was that age." "Your not saying-" "I am." Meg turned and walked up the stairs to see them standing in the kitchen still. Connor gave his mother a hug and then stood near Nick. Meg looked at the resemblance but she must have dazed off. "Meg, are you ok?" Nick asked. "Yea, I was just thinking that we never got to have your cake Connor." "Yea, it's really nice. I love it." "We can have it when everyone leaves even if it's only me and you." "That'd be good." Bryan walked into the room with Daniel and handed him to Meg. "Here's my baby boy." She said giving the baby a kiss on the forehead. "He's so little." "He's a preemie. Just like you Connor."

Chapter 6
The next day Emily, Brian Jr., and Leighann came over. Rebecca and Emily put their make-up on then put together some outfits. Connor was at the studio with AJ and Robbie working on a few songs. Connor sang the parts well but Robbie rather stand there. "Robbie, come on." "Dad, you live in NY and you come back for like a few days and expect a relationship-" "Robbie, I've seen you since you were born." "Yea, to have me sing. Maybe I don't want to do this." He said crossing his arms over his chest. "AJ, let me talk to him. Robbie let's go for a walk." They walked to the game room of the Backstreet Boy's Recording studio and sat on chairs. "See in my family I have a sister and now a little brother." Connor explained everything to Robbie and soon they were singing in the studio. After they finished they dropped Connor off at his house and he went inside. "Mom, you gotta here us sing." He said putting a CD in the player. His voice came over singing Perfect Fan and the memories of that night came flooding back as she started crying. "Mom, don't cry." "I'm not sad it's just you reminded me of some old memories-" "Of when you and Nick used to hang out all the time?" "Yea, he sang this to me the night after I met your dad." Connor hugged his mother and then went up to his room. Meg picked up the phone and called an old friend who worked at the hospital. "Hey Kelly, can you do me a favor?" "Sure." "Can you check Connor's blood type and then see what Bryan's is and see-" "If he is defiantly be the father?" "Yea." "Ok, I'll call you back when I'm done." "Thanks." She hung up the phone and went over to Dan's crib to check on him. Rebecca came running down the stairs. "Mommy, Connor can sing!" "I know, he's really good." "Like dad." The little girl held on to her little brother's hand. After a few minutes she ran into the computer room the phone rang ad Meg jumped for it. "Hello?" "Meg, I figured it out sorry but it's only a 1% chance." The tears started running down her cheeks. "Sorry." "Thanks." She whispered hanging up the phone as she sat on the couch full out crying. Connor came walking down the stairs. "Mom, when's dad gonna be home?" "Soon." She said figuring a way to go out before he'd get home, she couldn't bare to tell him. Meg picked up the phone and dialed Shayla's number. "Hello?" "Shay, I-he isn't-" "Shh... breath." "I can't, he-he isn't-" "Oh fuck... I'll be right over." She hung up the phone as Rebecca came into the room. "Mommy, can I go over to Emily's house?" All she could do was nod. "Mom, I'm gonna go too." She watched as he walked out of the room and she started crying harder as Shay ran into the house and hugged her.

Chapter 7
"How sure?" "99%, that he isn't." "Shoot, are you going to tell him?" "I don't know how to. It's break his heart and how can I tell Nick?" "Girl, you have to sort this out." "I can't. Shayla everything was perfect then this comes up and messes it up." The door opened and Bryan came walking in. Meg put her head in a pillow and kept crying. "Meg, what's the matter?" "Nothing." "You know the hormones are still messed up." Shayla said. "Ok, want me to watch the kids?" "I can't-" "Meg, come on we need to go out." "Ok, have fun." He said as Shayla pushed her up the stairs towards her room. Meg put on sandals and then fixed her hair and tried to cover up her swollen eyes. The two girls went out to the movies and then to the mall. It was 9 and they went to an ice cream pallor when they started talking about it again. Meg was a mess she didn't know what to do. "Shayla, he's gonna hate me. What if he wants divorce and the kids?" "Sis, I've been threw three. If he's gonna do that let him try. Being on tour all the time isn't to his advantage." "I'm just so scared." "Don't be. This wasn't all your fault." The two girls went back to Meg's house. "You don't have to do it now if you don't want to." "I have to. This has been going on for ten years." "Good luck." Meg walked into the house and Rebecca and Connor were up stairs and Bryan was singing to the baby. Meg slowly walked into the living room. "Back so soon?" "I was gone for like 4 hours." "But you need a break." "No, I need to face the truth first." "Huh?" "Let me feed Daniel and put him to sleep along with the rest of the kids then we can talk." "Ok." He sat down totally confused. Meg walked up the stairs with Daniel and put him in his crib and then made sure that Connor and Emily were asleep and then headed down the stairs. Meg looked at him and then looked at the floor as she sat down. "Ok, Bryan here it is. You know when the whole thing happened with me and Nick back like 11 years ago?" "Yea, what does this have to do with anything?" "It has to do with everything. When I found out about being pregnant for the first time that's the first thing that came to mind. It was who could be the father." "But I am." "That's what I'm not sure about now." He stood up obviously pissed. "Now you wait and tell me this?!" "I was almost sure he was yours I was only with Nick once." "But still this could have been resolved 10 years ago and not now. I don't want to hear about this now!" He turned and started up the stairs. "Bryan, I talked to Kelly at the hospital and there's only a 1% chance you're the father." She said softly.

Chapter 8
"This is just great! Know what I should've thought about this 10 years ago but I didn't. Now this is just ruining everything we have." "Bryan, this doesn't change that much." She said on the verge of tears. "Yea it does. God this is so confusing. I don't even know how I feel now." "This killed me to tell you this. I love you." She said as the tears fell onto her cheeks. "I need to get out of here." Bryan said turning and walking out of the house. "No, don't go." She said falling onto the floor. Connor heard the yelling and came running down the stairs followed by Rebecca. "Mom, are you ok?" "No." She said wiping the tears off her cheeks. "Where's daddy?" "He left." "Why?" "Because I told him something he didn't want to hear." "What was it?" "That's he's not Connor's dad Nick is." "He's not my dad?" Connor asked getting up and backing away from his mother. "Yea." "How could you do that to dad?" "I didn't do it purposely-" "Yea you did! I hate you and Nick!" He yelled running out the open door. Meg went up to get him but only fell again. Rebecca walked to the door and he was no where in sight on the dark street. Meg reached for the phone and dialed Nick's number. "Hello?" "Nick?" She sobbed into the phone. "Meg, are you ok?" "No, Bryan just left and then Connor ran out-" "Ok, I'm no my way." Meg got up and walked out to the side walk and didn't see either of them. Connor's bike was gone and Bryan's car was also. When Nick came they walked inside. "Ok, start from the beginning." "Ok, this all started when I figured out that Bryan isn't Connor's father. I told him that he wasn't and he freaked and left then Connor and Rebecca came down the stairs from the noise and when I told Connor he freaked and ran out then grabbed his bike." "So... I'm Connor's father?" "Yea." "Ok, why don't you try to reach Bryan then everyone else and I'll drive around and look for Connor." She nodded as he ran out to his car. Meg slowly dialed Bryan's cell phone number. "Hello?" He snapped. "Bryan, don't hang up. Connor ran away." "Why don't you have his father go look for him?!" "He is but I need your help." "Well... I can't help you there." He said hanging up. Meg hung up the phone and felt a new set of tears start to fall. She called everyone else and they were all looking for him and they soon found him on the beach standing near the rocks. Meg ran over to him as Shayla held Daniel and Rebecca stood next to her. "Connor!" "Leave me alone. I don't need you in my life. I want dad." "I asked him to come and he wouldn't. He moved on already so you have to too." "No, he left because you're a slut!" He yelled running the other way only to be stopped by Nick. "Don't say that about your mother." "Don't touch me, I hate you! You messed up my family!" Bryan watched all this from the wall and he jumped down and walked over to them. "Dad! Please don't make me stay with them." He said running over to him. "Connor, we need to find out who's your dad then we and figure this out ok?" "Yea, but I want to stay with you." "Fine. Let's go get the test now and the sooner we'll know." "Ok." They all got into separate cars and went to the hospital.

Chapter 9
They took the test and Bryan headed to a hotel with Connor and Meg headed back to the house with Nick. She sat on the couch next to Shayla and started crying. "Shay, this turned out worse then I though it would. Now like everyone hates me a thinks I'm a slut." She sobbed. Shayla hugged her sister as Nick sat in a chair. "Meg, it'll all work out. You'll see. Connor will get over it and so won't Bryan, you two are gonna take care of your family." "Shayla, did you see how cold his look was. When we had that fight before it wasn't like that. I've never seen that look before. This is so hopeless." She said hugging her knees. "Meg, don't worry he'll see the light. Any guy stupid enough to turn the mother of his children up doesn't deserve you." "Nick, what do you think about this?" "I want you and Bryan to raise Connor, do what you've been doing for the past 10 years. I don't want to mess it up." "That's already done with, sorry I couldn't keep my mouth shut." "Meg, it's ok. Trust me everything will turn out fine." "I hope so." The next two days were hell they all went to the hospital with a few people in the waiting for support. Meg, Bryan, Connor, and Nick sat in the Dr.'s office. "Hello everyone. I have the results. But before I tell them I advise that Connor go to therapy because taking this at such a young age might have it's affects." "We'll think about it." Meg spoke as Connor glared at her. "Ok, the results." The Dr. Slowly opened the folder. "And the father is. Nick, sorry Bryan." "Whatever. I gotta get out of here." He got up and walked out as Meg let it sink in. She turned to Nick and he held her hand. Connor went to run after Bryan but he was gone. Meg walked into the hallway and looked at Shayla and nodded, Shayla knew Nick was the father when Bryan stormed out. Connor turned and walked over to his mother. "I hate you, you messed up our whole family!" He said as the tears fell from his cheeks. "I'm not living with you I'm going with dad." "Connor, listen. I still love Bryan what I did seemed right at the time I never thought it would ever come out to this because if I knew that I wouldn't have let it happen." He turned and looked at Nick who was leaning against the door as his girlfriend started yelling at him. "Shelly, this happened 10 years ago. Calm down." "Well... I can't." "God, just leave. Meg and Connor are more important to me." Her mouth dropped. "Nick, your such an asshole!" She yelled as she walked down the hallway. "Nick, you didn't have to do that." "She was getting all my nerves." "Hey Connor, want to go home?" "Yea." They all walked out to Nick's car and he sat in the back arms crossed. When they got back to the house Bryan was throwing bags in his car. Meg jumped out of the car and ran over to him. "Bryan, don't do this." "I can't stay with you. Not after this. My lawyer will be in touch."

Chapter 10
Meg followed him into the house. "Bryan, Connor is still your son. You raised him for 10 years." "No, he's your son. You'll get the paperwork for the divorce soon and I want the kids." "You can't do this. Your not taking my kids away." "I'm taking my kids back to a decent home!" He got in his car and slammed the door and sped off as Meg sat on the step looking at the spot where his car just was. Connor walked in the house and slammed the door. Nick sat next to her. "He's leaving me and wants Rebecca and Daniel." "Meg, you'll keep them he's gone to much to take care of them on his own." "But-he'll get away with it." "No, I'll help you. We are on your side." A few days later she got the divorce papers. Meg sat there staring at them, there was no more tears to cry. After a few hours she signed them and drove them to his lawyers office. "Hello Megan. About the custody thing. I suggest you do the easy thing and just let him have the kids." "Sorry Mr. Williams, I can't do that. Their my children as much as they are his and I'm not giving them up with out a fight. I better be going." She walked back out to her car and sat there a few minutes before heading back to the house. Bryan was there putting some more of his stuff into his car. "I signed the papers but your not taking the kids." Meg said walking past him into the kitchen. "Meg, why don't you just give up? Your not going to win." She turned around. "Excuse me but your always traveling and I'm not going to let my kid have to go threw that." "I can support them better-" "And how do you know that?" "You don't have a job." "Maybe I do. Remember my book deal and I got another part time job." "Doing what working at McDonalds?" She smacked him. "Your such a jerk and no I don't work at McDonalds." "Where then?” "At the guys recording studio as a secretary." "Yea I bet maybe their hoe." "Just get the hell out of my house. You have no right talking to me this way. I wish I picked Nick that night and I wouldn't be going threw this now." "Maybe you should have." He said picking up his last bag and walking out. Meg pushed her hair out of her face and headed over to her computer. The book she was working on was her 2nd book. Bryan didn't know she finished her first book 'How To Handle Teenage Years'. This book was about her life and what her choices where, Nick was the only one who knew she was writing it since he was helping her with pictures and the kids. Shayla was in Washington visiting her older son, Billy, who was 8 and lived with his father Chase. Everyone was helping out and it was August so the kids would be going to school soon. Connor was starting to open up to Nick and therapy was helping majorly with that. Everything was looking up except for the trial in 2 months, Meg had a lawyer who worked with the guys and their record label. When the trial came it was all over the news, Meg walked in with Nick as people snapped their camera and asked for comments. When they walked into the court room she saw so many familiar faces all the guys of Westlife, their wives, the rest of BSB and their wives, Shayla, her mother, and a few other friends.

Chapter 11
The trial lasted 2 weeks and soon the day came with the verdict. Rebecca stood next to her mother and Nick, Connor was on Nick's other side. Meg rocked Daniel nervously back and forth. "Ok Ms. Connors and Mr. McFadden, I have my decision. For the past 2 weeks I have listened to both of your points and I have children myself so I know how our feeling. My conclusion is that Megan keep the kids and when your not on tour you can see your children on a weekend basis. Court adjourned." They all hugged as Bryan walked out of the court room mad. Everyone ended up at her house and sat around talking. "Mommy, I'm glad I'm here with you but when can we see daddy?" "Tomorrow you and Daniel are going for a visit after school and until Sunday afternoon." "Ok." The next morning Meg drove Connor and Rebecca to school along with Emily and she had to pick up Robbie. "Bye mom." Connor said giving her a hug. "Bye Auntie Meg." Robbie said running after Connor. "Bye auntie Meg." Emily said waving. "Bye mommy, I'll see you Sunday." "Bye Rebecca, have fun with dad." The four of them walked into their school and Meg drove to work. She carried Daniel and Brian Jr. walked beside her. She only had to answer the phone and make appointments, so it was ok bringing the kids and since there was a lot of room they would be fine. She was only watching him till 12 when Leighann would be done with a script reading. The day was quit except for a few singers coming in and out. At 12 Leighann picked up Brian Jr. and they went to lunch at a small café across the street. "I'm so happy the trial is over." "Yea, I'm glad you got custody of the kids. How's Connor with all this?" "He's still upset but he's starting to get used to everything the way it is now." "That's good." "Yea." By 1 Meg was at work finishing up everything and was getting Daniel and Rebecca's stuff to go with Bryan. At 2 she stood outside school with Daniel. Connor was the first one out. He ran over to Bryan when he saw him but stopped and walked over to his mother. "Hi Bryan." "Hey Connor, how's it going?" "Good." He got in the car and closed the door so he couldn't see him crying. Connor turned his back to them and waited to leave. Rebecca came out next. "Daddy!" She said jumping into his arms. "Hey angel, I missed you." "I missed you too daddy." They walked over to the car and Bryan came back to get Daniel. "I'll bring them back Sunday around 1." "Ok, bye." She waited for Emily and Robbie then drove back to the house. Emily went into the house and Robbie went in with Connor. She was watching him till Saturday night because Amanda had to go up to NY to visit a family member. Robbie and Connor went to play catch in the back yard and Meg went back to working on her book.

Chapter 12
She was done with the first one and since it was a two book series. She went over the pictures and put them in for the next two hours then started supper. After eating she went back to editing. "Thank goodness I'm done." She said at 8. Meg had half the second one written so she could bring this to the book company tomorrow before work. She was working from 10 to 3 on Saturdays and Nick was going to take Connor and Robbie out to the movies and then to an arcade. Meg make sure the boys were in bed before going to her room. Meg woke up at 8 and took a shower and got ready for work then woke up the boys and made breakfast while they got ready. The three of them got there exactly at 10. Nick came out of his office excitedly. "Hey guys. I heard the song you two sang. It was great." "Thanks." "Are you ready to go?" "Defiantly. See yea later mom." "Bye Meg." Robbie said following them. Meg did some paper work and there was nothing to do for the last 3 hours so went to get her lunch and then came back only to find another stack of papers. Meg sighed and filed them and finished as the boys walked threw the doors. AJ stood there smiling. "Meg, would it be ok if I worked with the boys till like 4:30 maybe 5. I'll drive them to your place after." "That's fine." "Thanks." The boys followed AJ into a studio and Meg got her stuff to leave. "You look like you need a break." "Thanks, Nick, how could you tell?" "You look stressed." "I am, I think I should just relax for awhile." "Yea, what if I ask AJ if he'll watch the boys till tomorrow so you can rest till Rebecca and Daniel come home." "No, Nick, thanks anyway." "I think you need a break. Come on, I don't want to sit next to you in the hospital when you end up in their due to exhaustion or something." "No." "Fine, then your coming to my place cause I know that your gonna work at yours." "Nick, hello I just put the 1st book in I gotta do the second book." "And after next week your on vacation." "Huh?" "The kids have Thanksgiving break so we're going on a small break." "Nick, Bryan won't let me take the kids for the week end." "I talked to him and he said it was ok he was going back to Ireland anyway." "You never cease to amaze me." He smiled as he wrapped an arm around her as they walked out to his car. "You can leave your car here, it'll be fine." The ride to his house was silent once they got inside they sat down on he couch and were watching a movie when Meg spoke up. "Nick, if you don't mind me asking how come you never got married?" "I just never got a chance to be with the right girl, she was always out of my reach and I lost my chance awhile ago when I pushed her into something." Meg thought for a second. Chapter 13
"I never should have asked that-" "Meg, it's ok. I been wanting to tell you that for along time." "But it would never work out-" "Meg, just calm down. It's fine I don't want you to freak out over it. It's not that big of a deal." "Yes, it is." "Meg, listen to me. I wanted to tell you not because Bryan is out of the picture just so that you know in case sometime I might have a chance. Nick walked into the other room. "I shouldn't have said that, I just don't know what I'm doing anymore." "Nick, come on don't get upset about it. I'll just forget it." "Meg, I brought you here so you could relax and I made you more stressed." She sat next to him on the stairs. "Nick, the night I picked Bryan it was really confusing and when I signed the divorce papers I told Bryan if I picked you I wouldn't been going threw that because you're a better guy." "You did?" "Yea, Nick, you would've been a better father I can tell by the way you are with Connor and you would have been there for me all the time." "You think so?" "I know so." "Thanks, Meg." He said giving her a hug. "No problem. Let's go have some ice cream." "That means going out." "Race yea to the car." "Your on." The two of them jumped up and ran to his car Nick getting there before her. "I figured by now you'd know how to go shopping for your food." "There's some things yea never learn." "I'll have to teach you." Nick rolled his eyes as they drove to an ice cream place. At 6 they got back after going food shopping. Nick walked in carrying a few bags, Meg followed him with a few bags. She started to put the stuff away as he went to go get the last few bags. Meg tossed out some old stuff in the fridge and got everything in order. "There now that's done. What else?" "Let's just rest." "Fine." He fell into a chair as Meg laid on the couch. After 10 minutes of silence they both started to laugh. "We have to do something this is boarding." "I'm not board." Meg walked up the stairs to see his clothes tossed around his room. Nick sat in the chair for a few minutes before Meg tossed a bunch of clothes down the stairs. "Hey, what are you doing?" "These need to be washed. Why don't you put them in the washer?" Nick groaned and picked up some of the clothes. "Geese, next time I ask you to come over I'm not letting you clean." "Nick, this is gross." "So... it's a guys house." A few minutes later Nick went up the stairs to see him room cleaned and in order. "Wow, this is a new look." He said sitting on his bed. "Yea, I think it looks better this way." Meg pulled her hair back and sat next to him. Resting her head on his shoulder. "I wonder why I keep this house, it's too big for one person." "But it's nice." "Yea, it is."

Chapter 14
The time seemed to pass as they sat there. "I miss being 15 and just hanging out." Meg said suddenly. "Me too…that's when everything was so easy." "Yea, I was so dorky." "No, I was dorky." "I remember that summer BJ found out I had a crush on you and I had to bribe her not to tell you." "You liked me then?" "Yea, I did up until we were 20 and then I new it was love." "Then it changed when you met Bryan?" "No for awhile, I think I wanted him to take your place at 1st but then I started to like him but never as much as I liked you." Nick was silent not knowing what to do. "I don't think I should say this but…those feelings never left." Nick looked at her, they sat there looking at each other for a few minutes. "You still feel that way?" He said softly. "Yea, I do." "This is great-" "Nick, I'm not ready to jump into something. I just want to take it slow ok?" "Yea, Meg, I would never rush you." "I know that." Nick laid back on the bed and Meg did the same and they fell asleep like that. The next morning Nick woke up first and went down the stairs to get breakfast. He brought it up stairs and woke Meg up. "Good morning." "Good morning." She mumbled. "I got breakfast. I didn't trust myself making anything so it's cereal." "That's ok it's the thought that matters." Meg said sitting up. After eating Nick drove her back to the studio and she got in her car and drove home. She cleaned up the house a little before starting to wash the windows. Meg was almost done when AJ dropped Connor off. "Thanks, for watching Connor." "No problem, he's a cool kid." "No, the three of us and Nick are going on a small vacation." "To where?" "I don't know." The doorbell rang and Connor went to get it, once the door was open Rebecca ran inside. "Mommy, look what daddy got me?" She said holding up a big stuffed animal. "That's nice, Rebecca." "Rebecca, for Thanksgiving you aren't going with your father your coming with my dad and mom." Connor said crossing his arms. "No, we're going to Ireland with dad to see grandma and pa and Auntie Susan like we do every year." "Honey, this year is gonna be different." The tears welded up her eyes. "I want everything to be like it was before Daniel was born." She said running out of the room and Connor smirked as he walked out of the room. "Connor Michael Carter, stop where you are and come take a seat in the chair we need to have another talk." Meg took Daniel from Bryan as he stood there. "Umm… I better be going-" "You hate me because of mom. Don't you?" Connor said looking at him. "Connor, I don't hate you. I could never hate you. Chapter 15
She pulled away and put Daniel in a carrier that was on the floor. "That shouldn't and can't happen." "Meg, I messed up-" "Bryan, I moved on."
"So your really with Nick?" She nodded. "Damn it! I want our family back." "Well… you should have thought about before you left me." "I was hurt, you don't know how much that hurt me!" "I do know. It hurt me too, but Bryan I never felt the same thing with you that I have with Nick. He's my soul mate." "This is just so messed up right now." He said about to leave. "I'm sorry that I had to lie to myself and you for the past 10 years. It would've saved a lot of pain." "I don't regret it. I just wish it was me instead of Nick." Bryan said softly as he walked out of the house. Daniel started crying so Meg picked him up and walked up the stairs with him. Rebecca was sobbing sitting against the wall outside Connor's room. Meg put Daniel in his crib. "Rebecca, don't be upset with Daniel it's not his fault it's mine." "But everything was better before he was born." Meg hugged her daughter. "Rebecca, just think of the fun we're gonna have. I'll see if you can go to Ireland with your father right after Christmas." "Mommy, I'm sorry. I don't want to be any trouble like Connor." They went into the bathroom and washed Rebecca's face then she went to go watch TV and Meg went to talk to Connor. She slowly opened the door to see his room empty and the window open. She looked out the window to see him crying hold his leg on the ground. Meg rushed outside and kneeled next to him. "Connor, are you ok?" "No, my leg. I'm sorry mom… I was gonna run away but when I jumped onto the trampoline I fell the wrong way." "We're going to the hospital. Will you be ok here for a minute while I call your father and get Daniel and Rebecca?" He nodded and wiped a tear from his cheek. Meg ran into the house and called Nick. "Hello?" "Nick, can you meet me at the hospital Connor was trying to run away and he fell on the trampoline the wrong way climbing out of the window and I think he broke his leg." "Ok, I'll be right over." He hung up and Meg rushed to get Daniel. "Rebecca, can you go stay outside with Connor. I'll be right out." She went outside and Meg went and opened the car and put Daniel in his car seat and Rebecca got into the car as Nick ran up the driveway. He went and picked up Connor and put him in the backseat with Rebecca and Daniel then got in the front with Meg.

Chapter 16
When they got to the hospital they brought Connor in and the doctor took him to X-ray. Meg sat there with a blank look. "This is my fault. He isn't getting better. I should've seen it." "Meg, don't say that. He's getting better." "No, he isn't. Today when Bryan dropped Rebecca and Daniel off he started trouble." "What did he do?" "Got Rebecca not to like Daniel making it look like his fault, then he said he wished Bryan was still his father." "Then we have to talk to him again and just give him space from Bryan." "I think he wants go to his house for the weekend and that's why he's doing this." A doctor came back 20 minutes later. "His leg is broken and we're going to set it and then put a cast on." "Ok. Do we need to sign anything?" "Yes, actually." She handed them a clipboard and they signed it. A half an hour later Connor came out with crutches. He went right past Nick and Meg and headed right to the car. Nick went after him and Meg went to talk to the doctor. "Ms. Connors, his leg was broken. How?" "He was trying to run away and he fell the wrong way climbing out of the window." "Why was he running away?" "Our family has had a lot of problems. I few months ago I found out his father wasn't who I thought it was and my other children's father wanted a divorce and we separated. Connor's still having problems adjusting." "Is he going to therapy?" "Yes, every Tuesday and Thursday night." "Ok. I want him to come back in a month to see how his leg is doing." "Thank you." Meg walked out to the car with Daniel and Rebecca to see Connor sitting in the car with his arms crossed and yelling at Nick who was standing outside. Meg went and opened the door. "Excuse me. Connor, we are having a talk when we get home. I really don't like your attitude." The ride home was silent as Connor glared at Nick and Rebecca sat there quietly. When they puled into the driveway Shayla, Billy, and George were sitting on the steps with bags. Meg got out of the car with Daniel and Rebecca. "Connor, let Nick help you if not you can sit in the car and wait for me." "Fine." "Meg, I'll wait to make sure he doesn't try anything." "Ok." She went and opened the door. "Shay, what's the matter?" "Stupid ass Roy left while I was in Washington. The house was empty and sold. All our stuff was gone." She said breaking down in tears. "Shay, don’t cry. Come on in. Rebecca how about you go upstairs and bring Billy and George to Connor's room." "Ok, mommy. Come on boys." She walked up the stairs and they left their bags at the bottom and followed her. "Shay, are you ok for a minute. I got to help Connor in here." "I'm fine." Shay sat in a chair and Meg went out to the car. "Mom, what's the matter with Auntie Shay?" "Roy left her. Come on, we're going in the house and your staying in your room. If you try anything before we talk there is going to be big trouble."

Chapter 17
Meg walked back in the house beside Connor. Nick helped him up the stairs to his room and Meg went to talk to Shayla. "Ok, let's start. Did anything happen when you were in Washington?" "Chase, is getting married and his new wife doesn't like kids so he said Billy can come live with me he'll send me money for him and he'll come down for awhile when he can." "Good deal, did you tell Roy?" "I tried to call but there was no answer then when I got home there was a car in the door way and when I went inside these people were moving in." "This is so bad… let's see if we can track him." Meg picked up the phone and called their cousin Dan and he put out a trace on him. Meg got Shayla and the boys settled in the guest rooms and then went up to Connor's room. Nick was helping Rebecca clean her room. Meg sat on Connor's bed. She went into the other room and did the same for Rebecca and then went to Daniel's room, he was already asleep so she went down stairs and sat with Nick. They sat there for awhile in silence. "Meg, I think you and Bryan should get back together for the kids sake." Nick said quietly. "Nick, Bryan and I had this discussion earlier. I told him I wanted you." "Good, because I really didn't want to let you go." He said wrapping his arms around her waist. Meg rested her head on his shoulder. "Remember when I took you to my prom because Ken broke up with my to go with Ali, then when you showed up all the girls were freaking out and Ali dumped Ken, that was funny." "I liked the part when he was like 'hey I didn't know you hung out with Hollywood people' and then you said-" "I do and don't know why I went out with a asshole like you and I poured punch on him."

Chapter 18
The two of them talked about when they were younger and all the crazy things they did and they ended up falling asleep on the couch. At 7 Rebecca stood in the door way to the living room with Billy and George. Shayla came down the stairs and ushered the kids into the kitchen as Connor struggled to get down the stairs. "Mom! Dad! Can you help me, I'm stuck." He yelled as Meg and Nick shot up from their peaceful sleep in each other's arms. Meg fell off the couch and Nick tried to stop himself from laughing but it didn't work. She slapped him in the arm and rolled her eyes then went to go help Connor. "Mom, are you and dad back together?" "We were never officially together but we are now." She smiled as Connor just looked at Nick then hugged him. "I want us to be a real family." He said once they got to the bottom of the stairs and he hobbled out to the kitchen. Meg ran up the stairs and Nick followed her. She grabbed some clothes and walked into the bathroom and turned on the water. Meg went to close the door and Nick stopped her. "For once." He said sticking out his bottom lip. "Hello? Our son and my two other children and two nephews and sister are down stairs." "Ok." He said sitting on the bed. Meg laughed and closed the door making sure to lock it. Once she got dressed she ran down the stairs to see Nick gone along with all the kids except Billy who was watching TV. "Nick took Rebecca, Connor, George, and Emily to school. He said he'd see you at work. I'll pick up the kids because I have to enroll Billy later and I checked it with Leighann." Shayla said rocking Daniel back and forth. Meg didn't say a word but just went into the kitchen to grab apple. Meg took a bite as Shay popped the question. "Did you fuck him?" He ran up the stairs and Shayla handed Meg Daniel then headed out. Meg went and fixed her bag and then brought Daniel and her stuff out to the car and Billy came running outside. The rest of the ride was quiet and when they got to the studio Meg got AJ to take Billy to do a demo.

Chapter 19
Meg stood in the door way as Billy belted out a song. Nick came up next to her. "He's really good. Is he gonna join with Robbie and Connor?" "Nick, you scared me." Meg said turning around. Chapter 20
"He asked me to go on tour with him and the guys and I said I couldn't."
"That's not a big deal." "I think it is, he sounded really disappointed. Then this morning Shay was talking about something and I don't know it so confusing." Meg said as the tears started to fall from her eyes. Leighann moved next to her. "Meg, don't cry. It'll be ok. Nick loves you with all his heart." "Telling Bryan will be easy but the kids... what if I come with you?" "Would you?" "Yea, let's go." The two walked out to the parking lot and each drove back to Meg's house.
