Ch 1
Princess Morrigan was the third child of King Ronan. Her oldest sister, Melody, was 10 years older then her. Melody was to be married to Prince Caleb of the neighboring kingdom once she was able to bear children. So at the age of 16 she married Prince Colin. The next child was Prince Ronan who would rule their small kingdom in Northern Ireland. Morrigan and her siblings were all taught by Druid Priests. The youngest of the five children was Patrick and he was given to the Druid Grove at birth to be raised as a priest. Owen was born a year after Morrigan and was second in line for the throne. At age 5 Morrigan and her parents visited a kingdom 2 days journey from Calla. In this kingdom there was a Prince that was the same age as Morrigan. Prince Kian was first in line for the throne since he was the first male child. His father King Kevin was an ally with King Ronan and knew from their children’s birth that one day they would be married. This journey was to set the terms and have the children meet. Morrigan was very adventurous and was constantly wandering around her farther’s castle. When the royal family finally arrived at the kingdom they only had a few minutes before a huge celebration welcoming them. Morrigan had refused to wear a dress on the journey and was dressed in her brother’s clothes. Queen Bethany got her daughter dressed in her best dress and they were presented to the people of Sligo. Both Queen Bethany and Queen Patricia stayed silent as their husbands spoke. ‘It is with great joy that I welcome my long time ally, King Ronan. With the joining of our children in marriage it will only strengthen our ties and help our kingdoms prosper.’ Morrigan stood by her farther’s side gazing into the large crowd, she noticed the Prince being ushered over to his farther by a guard. ‘Now I would like to officially announce the betrothal of Prince Kian and Princess Morrigan.’ King Kevin nudged his son to the front of the stage as Morrigan tried to hide behind her farther. King Ronan pushed his daughter next to Kian as a Druid Priest stepped forward and blessed the children. At the dinner afterwards it was decided that at age 16 Morrigan would come to live in Sligo and the two would be married a year later.
Ch 2
The next day the Queens took their children into the garden and left them to play as they talked about their other children. Morrigan stood there studying Kian for along time. ‘I don’t like you very much.’ She said crossing her arms. ‘I don’t think I like you either.’ He said copying her motion. Morrigan walked over to a tree and started to climb it. ‘Princesses should not be doing that.’ ‘I do what I want.’ She said looking down at him from her perch. Kian climbed the tree next to it and went higher then her. For the next week the two spent their time competing in everything and their dislike of each other grew. In 5 years Kian and his mother would come to Calla for several weeks. Those five years flew by and soon the day came they would be arriving. Morrigan was in the forest riding a horse next to Owen when a guard came to get them. ‘Mother must I dress up to see Kian?’ ‘His name is Prince Kian.’ She just shrugged. ‘You will not be presented to him in boys clothes. Now go change.’ Morrigan’s maid lead her into her room and got her more presentable. Once Morrigan was dressed she went down to supper and joined the table. Prince Kian gave her a look as she sat on the other side of the table. ‘Princess, don’t be silly you need to sit next to Prince Kian.’ Morrigan reluctantly sat next to him but moved as far away as she could. Kian had changed a lot since she last saw him, Morrigan looked the same but was taller and had longer hair. The kingdom of Calla was celebrating the arrival of Prince Kian and Queen Patricia. Prince Ronan and his knights spent a good amount of time showing Prince Kian their fighting technique. Ronan and Kian became good friends right away. Morrigan spent most of the time in her room looking down at the courtyard glaring at him. ‘Mother, why couldn’t I have been given to the Druids? I would have made a good Priestess.’ ‘You will make a better Queen.’ Several weeks later the Prince and his mother left. Morrigan was relieved that should wouldn’t need to see him for 6 years.
Ch 3
Over those 6 years Morrigan became a women. She was fully developed by age 15. Owen taught her how to wield a sword at age 12 and she was better then him and almost as good as Ronan. King Ronan was close to dying and Prince Ronan had been ruling the kingdom. On her 16th birthday Owen and several soldiers left the kingdom with Morrigan. They practically had to drag her away. Yet again Morrian wore men’s clothes and rode a horse instead of being taken in a wagon. They arrived at Sligo and Morrigan was taken away to an extension of the castle. Owen and the soldiers left but would return for her wedding the next year. That night Queen Patricia welcomed her. King Kevin and Prince Kian were visiting several other kingdoms making peace treaties and would be back in five months time. Morrigan resumed her lessons with a Druid Priest, Morrigan was suprised to see it was Nicky from her kingdom. Nicky spent more time listening to Morrigan complain about Kian then he did teaching her. Morrigan got to know Kian’s siblings and had a good time getting to know them. Queen Patricia starting telling her all about a Queen’s duties and they spent a lot of time reading together. When Kian arrived a welcome ball was given in his honor. Morrigan had a light blue flowing gown on and her hair was left down. When she entered the hall she barley recognized Kian. His eyes were glued to her as she walked across the room and was introduced to many people by Queen Patricia. At dinner they sat next to each other near King Kevin who spent the majority of the time talking about all the castles they visited. After dinner Morrigan met more people then was taken back to her room. The next morning Morrigan went to go meet with the Queen and was suprised to see Kian sitting in the room. ‘Where is the Queen?’ ‘Attending to Prince Colm. She wanted us to spend some time together.’ ‘How was your journey?’ ‘Not too interesting. My farther did most of the talking but I got to see some beautiful lands. Was your trip ok? I’m sorry we weren’t here to welcome you.’ ‘Owen brought me so nothing went wrong. You were helping your kingdom by preventing war, that is much more important then welcoming me.’ ‘What do you know about war?’ ‘A lot, my brother had been trying to save Calla from going to war with Octavia. As you know my farther is dying and King Philip wants to take over the kingdom.’ ‘I did not know that. Would my farther know? We could send men to help Prince Ronan.’ ‘My brother is stubborn, he will never ask for help. Please don’t tell your farther.’ ‘I will do as you ask. Morrigan, do we no longer hate each other?’ He asked smiling. ‘That I have yet to figure out. Nicky has only said good things about you.’ ‘Nicky?’ ‘My Druid teacher, his family is from Calla. We have know each other since we were babies but I haven’t seen him since he left when I was 10.’ ‘That’s good. He is a good man, a good priest. You have changed since I last saw you.’ ‘I could say the same about you.’ ‘I thought you would not be as developed as you are.’ Morrigan’s mouth nearly hit the floor. ‘How dare you!’ She smacked him then hurried out of the room.
Ch 4
‘Nicky, you would not believe him. How could he just say something like that to me?’ ‘The Prince says what he thinks.’ ‘How will I be able to marry him?’ She said sitting down as tears started to spill from her eyes. Nicky tried to comfort her but it was no use. After awhile she fell asleep and Nicky went to go talk to the Prince. ‘Prince Kian, may I have a word?’ Nicky asked from the door of his room. ‘I assume this has to do with Princess Morrigan.’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Come sit.’ Nicky sat on the other side of the room in a chair. ‘The Princess was very upset with that happened today.’ ‘Morrigan confuses me. Every time I’m around her nothing comes out of my mouth right.’ ‘Princess Morrigan is very worried about what will happen when you two are married.’ Kian sat there silent. ‘I know what I must do. I should go to Calla and learn more about her from her brothers. Priest, tell her I am gone and I will return before our wedding. Let her know that I will not offend her again.’ Prince Kian left the room and got his plans in order. Two men left right away to tell Prince Ronan that he would be visiting and leaving within two days. Morrigan didn’t leave her room until she knew he was gone. While he was gone she spent most of her time riding her horse around the kingdom and learning about the people. As the weather started to change Morrigan got a letter from Kian. ‘Dearest Princesses, Calla is a beautiful kingdom and your brother has worked hard to save it. It is with great honor I sit at his side and learn from him. All of your family is doing well after your farther’s death. King Ronan II and Queen Isabel are expecting another child. Your nephew Colin is a strong little Prince, someday he will make a great king. We have not gone to battle but I fear we soon will. I know I have wronged you and I vow never do so again. You should not worry about our marriage because we will both be better prepared by then. I will not ask for a reply since I am sure you are busy. Till next time, Kian.’ As she read the letter Morrigan seemed surprised. Nicky urged her to reply to his letter and she did without a fight. ‘Dear Prince Kian, It was very kind to write. I am happy to hear my family is doing well. Calla shall be getting cold very soon as the snow starts to fall. I hope you do not have to go to battle. Your mother and siblings worry about you all the time but they know you are strong. The kingdom is truly beautiful and I have gotten to know many of the people. The King is having me meet all of your future advisors tomorrow. It is now true that I will not dread my time in Sligo. ~ Morrigan’
Ch 5
The next morning Morrigan met with Kian’s friends. Shane was going to be his top advisor, his farther was King Kevin’s closest friend. Mark was going to lead and train the soldiers, this job had been in his family for years. Morrigan had fun meeting their wives and children. Shane was married to Kian’s cousin, Gillian, and they had a son, Shane, and a daughter Belinda. Mark was married to a women named, Hope, they had a newborn daughter named, Kathleen. Hope and Morrigan became friends quickly and spent a good deal of time talking. Gillian helped give Morrigan a lot of information about Kian. It was a month after she sent her letter when she recieved a reply. ‘Dear Princess, Your letter brought a smile to my face. We had a small battle 2 days ago and we won. King Philip was wounded so Octavia had to retreat and will not be able to regroup for a long time. Owen will soon be married to Princess Charlotte of Dublin, her cousin Bryan is a good friend. After the wedding they plan to come visit you. Calla is magnificent in the snow. I enjoy seeing all the children outside playing in drifts. Shane and Mark have joined me here. They really like you as do their wives. Soon the snow will melt and I will see green. It will not be long before I return. I hope you are doing well. ~ Kian’
Morrigan wrote and reply and sent it off before even telling Nicky. ‘Dear Kian, Colm has been spending most of his time making me laugh. He is constantly playing jokes on the guards. I am already tired of the cold and await the coming of spring. My brother, Patrick, who is being trained by the Druids spent the last few days learning from Nicky. Patrick will be a great Druid leader one day and even though he is barley 10 he knows all the prayers in 3 dialects. He will be going back to Calla soon. I am very happy to hear that Owen is to be married. Princess Charlotte will be good for him, I know she will make him happy. Their visit will be great and soon you should be coming back to Sligo. I wonder if you will travel with the couple. I shall soon find out. ~ Morrigan’
Ch 6
It was a month later when Owen and Charlotte arrived with Kian. Morrigan wasn’t allowed to see them since their marriage was to take place in a few days. The kingdom was busy getting ready for the royal wedding. King Ronan II and his family would be traveling. Queen Isabel had just given birth to another son, Caleb. Nicky was going to be the Priest to marry them so he spent most of his time preparing for the wedding. For the first time Morrigan wasn’t nervous about marrying Kian. Ronan arrived 2 days before the wedding and their was a banquet. Morrigan stayed in her room looking at the dress she would be wearing for her wedding. Most of her belongings had been moved into the castle already. Morrigan put on her cloak and went for a walk in the garden. She heard someone approaching and turned to see Kian. ‘Prince, we are not allowed to see each other-’ ‘I know, but I had to. Before our wedding I wanted to apologize in person for how I acted.’ ‘That is the past.’ ‘I was wrong to speak to you like that. Please forgive me.’ Morrigan nodded. They noticed Nicky standing against the castle shaking his head. ‘Princess, come on back to your room.’ He took Morrigan by the arm and lead her away. ‘Morrigan, you shouldn’t be out of your room.’ ‘I know but I needed some fresh air. When can I see my brothers?’ ‘In the morning. You should get some sleep.’ Morrigan didn’t argue but went into her room and got ready for bed.
The next morning Morrigan was woken up by her nephew, Colin sitting on her bed holding flowers. ‘These are from Prince Kian.’ He said grinning as he handed them to her. ‘Colin, you have gotten so big.’ Morrigan said hugging him as Isabel entered the room with baby Caleb. Morrigan got out of bed. ‘He is so precious.’ She said as Isabel handed him to her. ‘Just think soon enough you will have some children of your own.’ Isabel said smirking. ‘Did Kian really give these flowers to Colin?’ ‘Yes, hand picked them himself. Morrigan, he is so in love with you. When he was in Calla he talked about you all the time.’ Morrigan’s cheeks turned a bright shade of red. ‘Really?’ ‘Yes, and I take it you are fond of him also?’ ‘I am beginning to like him.’ ‘We’ll let you get dressed and we’ll be in the dinning hall. All of the men are on a short hunting trip, they should be back in tonight.’ Isabel and her sons left the room and Morrigan hurried to get dressed and pulled her hair back off her face. She arrived in the dining hall and finally met Owen’s wife. Everyone was talking about the wedding that was happening the next day.
Ch 7
After breakfast Isabel, Morrigan, and Charlotte went for a walk in the garden. Morrigan held Caleb and Colin was running beside them. ‘Mamma, why couldn’t I go with daddy? I’m the only boy.’ He said pouting. ‘Colin, don’t you want to get ready for my wedding.’ Morrigan said kneeling down next to him. ‘Yea, I do but next time I want to go hunting.’ ‘Ok, I’ll go too.’ She said standing up as Isabel gave him a look. ‘Morrigan, when are you going to start acting like proper lady?’ She asked raising an eyebrow. ‘I am a proper lady when I have to be but it gets boring. Wouldn’t you like to ride a horse normally not side saddle?’ ‘I never have.’ ‘Come on, I’m going to show you. I have my riding clothes in my room.’ Charlotte acted similar to Morrigan and also liked to ride horses in men’s clothes, that’s why her and Owen got along great. After several hours Isabel managed to ride around the small field on her own. Once supper was over everyone went to bed early. All of the men arrived back after supper and Nicky went over the last minute things with them. Morrigan actually fell right asleep and wasn’t afraid of the coming day. The next morning Morrigan was woken up early by the cherping of birds. She waited for someone to come and tell her when everything was happening. Isabel come with her breakfast and told her the wedding would be happening later in the afternoon. Morrigan’s maid helped her move the rest of her things into the castle. Kian was out with his farther surveying the kingdom. Morrigan spent the rest of the morning sitting in the garden watching Nicky set everything up. He had several other Druids helping him set everything up. Morrigan was amaized at how fast they worked and how beautiful everything was. She picked out the flowers she wanted for her crown and Isabel and Charlotte helped her put it together. Queen Bethany, Morrigan’s mother, helped her get dressed and practice what she needed to say. Finally it was time for the wedding to begin.
Ch 8
Morrigan looked out of the window of the castle and saw most of the kingdom were gathered outside the castle to see them after the wedding. A huge banquet was set up for all the nobels who were already in the garden. Butterflies started to flutter in her stomach as she flowed her mother down the windy stairs. Ronan and Owen would both be walking her down the isle. They were as nervous as she was. Tears were starting to fall from Ronan’s eyes. ‘My baby sister is getting married.’ He said hugging her as Owen did the same. ‘Ro, don’t worry. She’s going to be in good hands. Plus we’ll always be visiting.’ Owen said trying not to cry. Morrigan noticed her youngest brother Patrick was to lead them down the isle. He looked so much older in his robes and was very serious. After all both of the Royal families were seated it was time for her to walk down the isle. She took Ronan and Owen’s arm as they slowly walked down the isle. Kian looked just as nervous as her. He was dressed in a white tunic and brown paints with his sword hanging by his side. Morrigan’s white dress was flowing and she had a small crown of flowers on her head. Queen Patricia and Bethany were both sobbing as their children held hands and waiting for Nicky to start. All the words seemed like a blur, luckily both of them remembered which words they had to reply to in Galic and soon enough it was over. King Kevin presented them to the public outside the castle and the crowd went wild.
Ch 9
The banquet was lovley. Everyone was dancing and singing. Queen Bethany was so proud of her daughter and knew deep down inside her feelings for Prince Kian had changed. When Kian had visited Calla he spent a great deal of time talking to the Queen about her youngest daughter. She had told him about all her favorite past times such as horse back riding, reading, and swimming. Owen had also helped Kian learn more about Morrigan. He had shown him her collection of books and paintings she had made. Of course Morrigan never wanted anyone to see these things Owen knew deep down inside that by showing Kian it would truly help him win her over. King Ronan II had been the greatest help. Ronan and Isabel had given him plenty of information about her favorite places. Isabel showed him all of the stories she had written for Colin when he was born. Ronan showed Kian her favorite spot, a small lake right outside the castle. Kian also learned that Morrigan was very intrested in the Druids and spent a great deal of time learning from them. From all the information he gained in Calla he knew he could make her happy and started to plan several trips for after their wedding.
Ch 10
All of the family members from each side spoke about Morrigan and Kian. Everyone talked about the memories of them first meeting and how they didn’t like eachother. Many of the speechs had the large crowd laughing. After the family was done speaking Shane and Mark spoke for Kian then Nicky spoke for Morrigan. Shane and Mark had some great stories about the three of them when they were young and how they used to play jokes on everyone that worked in the castle. Nicky gave the best speech telling everyone ahout the couples conflict and how they worked through their problems. The night seemed to go by quickly and soon it was sunrise. Dancing and drinking continued into the morning before all the guests started to depart. It was almost 10am when everyone but the families were gone. Colin had just woken up and came running into the dinning hall. ‘Auntie, were you up all night?’ He asked clibing onto her lap. She nodded as Colin started laughing. ‘You look tired.’ ‘I am.’ She said yawning. ‘Can I call Kian my uncle now?’ He asked. ‘I don’t know, you should ask him.’ Colin hopped off her lap and went over to Kian. ‘Can I call you my uncle now?’ He asked butting into Kian’s conversation with Owen. ‘Sure you can.’ ‘Good cause I asked Auntie and she told me to ask you.’ He said before walking away. Kian looked at Morrigan and smiled as he saw her holding Caleb and making the baby laugh. Once breakfast was over Morrigan went to go take a nap while Kian went over plans with King Kevin.

Sequel to The Betrothed
(X Rated scene in Chapter 7)
Ch 1
Morrigan woke up late that afternoon and was still in shock that she was married the night before. When her older sister came to visit before she left for Sligo she told her how bad marriage was. Isabel of course said it was completely different and she didn’t know who to believe. Melody was her sister and she told her the story of her wedding night. Caleb was the Prince of the next kingdom, Shalway, and seemed like a nice guy but that all changed that night. Morrigan remembered her sister on the verge of tears telling her how much her hurt her when he fully claimed her as his wife. She had begged him to stop but his reason was that he needed several strong heirs to be bore by her. Every night he did the same thing until their first son Patrick was born and he gave her a break for a few weeks then he started again and with in a year they had their second son Ronan. Melody tried to run away with her sons but he threatened to kill her and all contact with the family was cut off. Caleb was still ruling but no one knew about Melody, Morrigan’s mind raced as she began to worry.
Ch 2
Isabel knew that Morrigan would be upset and tried to talk to her about it. ‘Kian is a good man, he’s not like Caleb.’ She said rubbing Morrigan's back as she stood looking out the window into the courtyard as Kian talked with King Kevin. ‘What if-’ ‘What happened to Melody will not happen to you, trust me. Kian loves you and he knows that your brothers would kill him.’ She said cracking a smile. Morrigan only nodded. ‘I’m still worried, how much is it going to hurt?’ ‘For everyone it’s different, Just take your time and relax.’ Morrigan started to pace again. ‘He is just as nervous as you are, that is the reason why he insisted on staying at the banquet all night.’ Isabel finally said as Morrigan stopped. ‘Really?’ ‘He was talking to Owen and Ronan about it.’ ‘Please tell.’ ‘That’s all I heard, they were giving him advice in hushed tones. Now will you please come down stairs with me?’ Morrigan nodded and followed her down the stairs. Queen Bethany was sitting outside with Colin and Caleb sitting with her as she told a story. The two women joined her and when the story was over they all went for a walk in the garden. ‘Morrigan, tomorrow we will be going back to Calla.’ The Queen said suddenly. ‘Mother, you only just got here.’ ‘The kingdom needs your brother’s guidance. Owen and his wife will stay for a short time and Kian has already arranged a trip to Calla in 6 months time.’ Morrigan only nodded.
Ch 3
Soon enough it was time for dinner and everyone met in the hall. Morrigan sat waiting for Kian and he was not on time as usual. When he entered the room several minutes late Queen Patricia gave him a stern look as he took his seat quickly. Everyone was talking except Kian and Morrigan. ‘How was your day?’ He finally asked. ‘Relaxing, I haven’t gotten to sleep all day in a long time.’ She said smiling. ‘I wish I could say that.’ He said yawning. ‘How is the kingdom?’ ‘The same as always, nothing ever changes. Did you spend time with your family?’ ‘Yes, I’ll be sad to see them go tomorrow.’ ‘I was hoping we could go to Calla in a few months.’ ‘My mother mentioned that.’ ‘There goes the surprise.’ He said cracking a smile. ‘She can never keep a secret.’ She said also smiling. The rest of dinner they made small talk before the guys all went outside for a walk. Morrigan helped Isabel pack her things then went to her room since it was getting late. When she got to the room there was a note from Kian on the table. ‘Morrigan, meet me in the garden so we can talk. ~ Love, Kian.’
Ch 4
Morrigan hurried down to the garden to find Kian pacing. ‘How long have you been here?’ ‘Not long.’ ‘I was helping Isabel and my mother pack.’ ‘I know, Ronan told me. Anyway... I wanted to talk about us.’ He paused for a few moments. ‘I’m not going to rush you into anything. I know everyone had their own story about their-’ ‘Kian, don't. I already went over this several times today.’ She said kissing him. ‘I love you.’ He whispered before kissing her. ‘I love you too, that’s why I’m not worried anymore.’ She said half smiling as they both stood up. Their lips met in another kiss that turned into a series of kisses. Kian led the way back to the room as they both stood by the bed. ‘Are you sure?’ ‘Yea, I am.’ She said pulling her dress over her head.
Ch 5
Their lips met in a soft kiss as they backed up into the bed. Morrigan removed the rest of her clothes as Kian watched her. When she looked up she turned a light shade of pink. ‘Your perfect.’ He said kissing her. She sat on the bed and he removed his clothes then sat down next to her as they resumed kissing. They moved back into a laying position as Kian’s hands roamed down her body. ‘Kian, we should just do it before we loose our nerve.’ She said feeling self-conscious. ‘Ok, whatever you want.’ He positioned himself above her. ‘Let me know if you want me to stop.’ He said softly as he kissed her. Morrigan took a deep breath as he slowly entered her. A tear slid down down her cheek and Kian wiped it away. ‘Are you ok?’ He asked and she nodded. Kian moved slowly and soon her moans joined his. A few minutes later they both found their release. Kian rolled off Morrigan as they both lay there waiting for their breathing to go back to normal.
Ch 6
Morrigan rested her head on Kian’s chest and fell asleep. Kian smiled to himself as he also fell asleep. The next morning Morrigan woke up to the light from the window shining in her eyes. She sat up rubbing her eyes and a smile crossed her face as she remembered the previous night. Morrigan got dressed then woke Kian up. ‘They will be leaving soon.’ She said before leaving the room. When she reached the bottom of the stairs she found Owen helping Ronan arrange all their luggage. ‘Sleeping beauty is finally awake.’ Owen said laughing. ‘How do you know I haven’t been up for hours?’ She asked crossing her arms. ‘I know you haven’t. Isabel is in the room she wants to talk to you.’ Ronan said not looking up. Morrigan went into the dining room to find Isabel trying to get Caleb to eat his breakfast. ‘I take it everything went well.’ Isabel said laughing as Morrigan turned a bright shade of red. ‘That’s good, trust me it will only get better.’ Isabel said grinning as Kian walked into the room. ‘Where is mother?’ Morrigan asked. ‘She took Colin for a walk in the garden.’ ‘Ok, I’ll go find her.’ Morrigan headed off. ‘What was that about?’ Kian asked. ‘Nothing, we’re just talking about things.’ He raised an eyebrow. ‘Girl things.’ Isabel said as Caleb started asking Kian questions. ‘Uncle Kian, when are you going to come visit me?’ ‘In a little awhile.’ ‘Good, I like you being my uncle.’ He said grinning. ‘I like you being my nephew.’ He said ruffling Caleb’s hair.
Ch 7
Morrigan stood in the doorway smiling before her mother interrupted. ‘Are we almost ready to leave?’ Queen Bethany said walking into the room with Morrigan carrying Colin. ‘Are you that anxious to leave?’ Kian asked. ‘I do miss Calla, but Sligo is a nice kingdom.’ She said taking a seat next to Isabel. Kian nodded and went to go check on Ronan and Owen. ‘He was curious as to what we were talking about.’ Isabel said with a huge grin. ‘Don’t worry, I didn’t say anything.’ Morrigan let out a sigh of relief. ‘I’m going to miss you guys.’ She said with tears starting to weld up. ‘Oh hunny, don’t start.’ Queen Bethany said rubbing Morrigan’s back. ‘Mom, are you becoming a softy?’ Owen said coming into the room. ‘Owen James-’ She stopped when she heard snickering. ‘Ronan Patrick, you are just as bad.’ She said standing up and walking out of the room. ‘She really was on the verge of tears.’ Morrigan said as her tears started to fall. ‘Don’t worry, you still have Owen here.’ Ronan said taking Caleb with him outside. Owen followed and Morrigan stuck around with Isabel as they slowly started outside. ‘We’ll see you soon, 6 months isn’t a long time.’ ‘But I haven’t seen everyone in a year now your gone again.’ She said breaking down into a full out sob as Isabel hugged her. Everyone got into the carriage and it slowly pulled away. Kian hugged Morrigan for a a few minutes before they walked back into the castle.
Ch 8
For the next few weeks Kian tried to cheer Morrigan up. King Kevin was getting ready to step down and Kian was going to be crowned king. The coronation Charlotte announced that her and Owen were having a baby. This brought a smile to Morrigan’s face. ‘This is so exciting, I’m going to be an aunt again.’ She said hugging Charlotte. ‘Just think by the time you come to Calla the baby will be born.’ ‘I can’t wait.’ ‘So... when should be be expecting a little one from you and Kian?’ Charlotte asked grinning. Morrigan just shook her head. ‘When the times comes I’ll let you know.’ She said looking at the ground. Owen came running over with a huge smile. ‘I take it my lovely wife has told you the news?’ He asked kissing Charlotte’s cheek. ‘Yes, she has. I’m so happy for you guys.’ She said hugging Owen. ‘When-’ ‘Owen, I already asked. Give them some time, they’ve only been married four weeks.’ Charlotte said. ‘Where is Kian anyway?’ ‘Out with the boys.’ Morrigan said looking at the ground. ‘That is crazy, you two just-’ Charlotte hit his arm. ‘Ahem.... I better get back to what I was doing.’ Owen said before kissing Charlotte again and heading back towards the castle. ‘Are things just not going well?’ ‘It’s not that, I think he’s just busy with the coronation tonight and all.’ ‘Maybe that’s it. That could be the only reason he’s been so busy cause when you guys are together he has that goofy, I’m so in love look.’ Charlotte said as both of the girls giggled. ‘I better go get ready.’ Morrigan said once they had walked around the garden several times. ‘I’ll help you.’ Charlotte said following her into the castle.
Ch 9
Morrigan’s maid had set out a red dress and she looked at it in disgust. ‘That is atrocious.’ Charlotte said picking it up and tossing it in the back of the wardrobe. ‘Let’s see.’ She said looking at the numerous dresses. ‘I got it.’ Charlotte pulled out a light blue dress that was simple but flowing. ‘It’s perfect.’ Morrigan said taking it from Charlotte. ‘Go put it on and I’ll fix your hair.’ Morrigan went into the changing room and put on the new dress. When she walked back into the room Charlotte had a huge grin on her face. ‘You look fabulous.’ Morrigan spun around and looked down at her dress. ‘Charlotte, I almost forgot red is the kingdom’s color. I have to wear red tonight.’ Charlotte’s smile faded. ‘I can’t let you wear that red dress. Wait.... I have a red dress you could borrow.’ She hurried out of the room and Morrigan went to take off the blue dress. ‘Madam, we need to go in a few moments.’ Her maid said rushing into the room. ‘I am not yet ready. Princess Charlotte went to go get me a dress.’ ‘But Princess I had laid one out for you.’ ‘Chella, the dress is not me. I need-’ Charlotte rushed into the room and handed Morrigan the dress. She slipped it over her head. ‘How do I look?’ ‘Amazing.’ Charlotte said. ‘Better then the other.’ ‘Yes, Madam.’ Chella said nodding. ‘Charlotte, go ahead. Chella can do my hair.’ ‘Ok, good luck.’ ‘Thank you.’ Charlotte disappeared and Chella went to work pinning Morrigan’s hair back off her face.
Ch 10
It was just before the coronation was to start and Kian was pacing in the King’s entrance to the throne room. Owen stood by his side as well as King Kevin. ‘Where is she? The ceremony will start soon.’ Kian said aggravated. Charlotte appeared moments later flushed but dressed in a formal dress. ‘Have you see Morrigan?’ Kian asked as he continued to pace. ‘The princess is getting ready. We had to find a suitable dress.’ Owen just smirked as he saw Chella hurrying ahead of Morrigan down the side stairs. Kian took a deep breath as he stared at her walk towards him. ‘Sorry.’ She said looking at the ground. ‘Charlotte, already informed me why you are late.’ Kian said as the door opened and Shane motioned for them to follow. Morrigan took Kian’s arm as they followed Shane out to where King Kevin and Nicky were ready to start the coronation. The ceremony was long and filled with lots for reciting and prayers, Morrigan just stood next to Queen Patricia while Kian stood next to his father in front of Nicky. Owen and Charlotte smiled to Morrigan, they had been at Ronan’s coronation in Calla and it was just as long. Once the coronation was over Kian appointed all of his top men; Shane was his top advisor, Mark was to lead the arm, and Nicky was now the official palace Druid. Morrigan sat at a table with Charlotte and Owen while Kian talked to everyone who was there. After almost three hours of sitting at the table Morrigan got up and headed up to her room. She fell on the bed crying, after the coronation Kian just brushed her to the side and went off with his friends again. Within a few minutes of falling onto the bed Morrigan fell asleep.
Ch 11
The next morning she woke up alone and sighed. She got changed and went to go talk to Charlotte. Kian was sitting at the table talking to Owen and didn’t say a word to her as she passed. Charlotte was packing her things because they were leaving to return to Calla the next day. Morrigan’s eyes were still red and swollen so when Charlotte saw her she knew what must have happened. ‘Kian-Kian... did you see him go anywhere last night?’ Morrigan asked her lip quivering and tears ready to fall again. ‘I went to be shortly after you did. I know Owen found him walking around the castle early this morning. What happened?’ ‘I don’t think he came back to the the room last night.’ ‘Morrigan, please don’t cry again.’ ‘Charlotte, I want to go to Calla with you and Owen. Please don’t leave me here.’ Morrigan said sobbing. Owen walked into the room with Kian just as she finished her comment. ‘What’s going on?’ Owen asked. ‘We’re talking.’ Charlotte said. ‘Why do you want to go back to Calla?’ Kian almost snapped. ‘I miss my family and I don’t want to stay here if you don’t love me.’ Morrigan said quickly then hurried out of the room. Kian stood there as Charlotte shot him a look. ‘Why did you speak to her like that? If you had to leave your family and go to another kingdom to marry someone you would most likely fell the same way as she does.’ Charlotte said boldly. ‘What is really going on here?’ Owen asked confused. ‘Kian, why don’t you tell him? No one knows but you.’ ‘Tell him what? I don’t know why she’s acting that way.’ He said defensively. ‘Are you dense? Morrigan thinks you don’t love her.’ Charlotte said throwing her hands up in the air as Kian had a blank look on his face. ‘I don’t know what to say.’ ‘You don’t need to say anything to us. You need to talk to Morrigan.’ Owen said sitting next to Charlotte. Kian nodded and walked out the door to find her.
Ch 12
After a few hours of searching Kian found Morrigan sitting in a tree in the small forest outside the castle. ‘I’m sorry.’ ‘Sorry for what?’ Morrigan asked coldly crossing her arms. ‘For not being here all the time.’ ‘Don’t you have to go do kingly things?’ She asked turning her back to him as she climbed higher. ‘Morrigan, I’ll climb up there after you.’ He said grabbing a branch. ‘Don’t think about it. Go spend time with your friends.’ She said throwing a small branch down at him. ‘Morrigan, will you please talk to me?’ ‘No, I don’t want to. I don’t have anything to say to you.’ ‘Well... I want to talk to you so will you listen?’ ‘Maybe.’ She said and stopped climbing and sat on a large limb. ‘I know I have been spending a lot of time with Shane and Mark but I had to get things in order. If I want to be a good king I need to be read for anything, now that everything is seemingly in order I will have more free time.’ ‘Free time for what?’ ‘Morrigan, your making this a lot more difficult then it needs to be.’ He said putting his hands on his hips in aggravation. ‘Me making things difficult? Sorry your highness.’ She spat and turning her back to him. ‘Just go back to the castle.’ Morrigan said her voice shaking. ‘Morrigan-’ ‘Please... let me be.’ She said. Kian shook his head. ‘We need to talk eventually. I’m not going to let you push me out that easy.’ Kian said before heading back to the castle. Morrigan watched him walk away and sighed to herself, she knew that they would talk later. When it started getting dark Morrigan headed back to the castle and went to the extension of the castle that she stayed in before she was married to Kian. She opened the door and found the room the way she had left it, Morrigan yawned and laid on the bed and went to sleep.
Ch 13
The next morning Morrigan woke up to the sun shining in her eyes. She wandered into the castle to see Nicky pacing. ‘Where have you been?’ He asked walking over to her. ‘I slept in the extension last night. I was to tired to walk upstairs.’ ‘Kian, had the whole freaking staff looking for you since dawn. He thought something happened to you.’ Morrigan hung her head. ‘We had an argument yesterday, that’s why he thought that.’ She said. ‘Argument about what?’ ‘Us, him spending time with you guys, and me coming down from a tree.’ Morrigan said with a smile crossing her face at the last comment. ‘Oh, your first fight.’ Nicky said rubbing his chin. ‘I’m sure you two will be just fine. Let’s go find Kian.’ ‘Umm.... how about you find him while I go change out of these clothes?’ Morrigan was wearing her riding clothes and was covered with dirt and grass. Nicky nodded and headed out the door as Morrigan walked up the stairs to get changed. Charlotte was sitting on the bed and jumped up when she saw Morrigan. ‘You had me so worried.’ She said hugging her. ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t even think about everyone else. Last night I slept in the extension.’ ‘Kian filled me in about the argument. He didn’t sleep at all last night he sat up in a lobby waiting for you. At dawn he sent out a search party.’ Morrigan hung her head guiltily. ‘I already talked to Nicky and he went to find Kian.’ Just as Morrigan finished her sentence she hear talking and soon Nicky, Owen, and Kian were in the doorway. ‘I’m gonna kill you.’ Owen said as Charlotte went to his side. ‘Ow, you know I do some stupid things. I just stayed in the extension last night. I’m sorry I didn’t think-’ ‘You didn’t think.’ Kian cut in. ‘I was so scared that you got lost in the woods or something terrible happened to you.’ ‘I can handle myself if I got lost in the woods.’ Morrigan said crossing her arms. Nicky, Charlotte, and Owen took this as their cue to leave the two of them alone.
Ch 14
‘Morrigan, you are very stubborn sometimes. Why can’t you just admit that I was right?’ Kian asked walking into the room and closing the door. ‘Your not completely right.’ Morrigan said with her hands on her hips. ‘I think this is why I love you, cause your so stubborn.’ Kian said slowly approaching her. Morrigan backed up into a table almost knocking it over. ‘I’m not stubborn.’ She said turning around towards her closet. ‘You are stubborn, very stubborn.’ He said wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing the back of her neck. ‘I’m going to go help Charlotte and Owen.’ Morrigan said walking to the door. ‘They’re not leaving for a while.’ Kian said whining. ‘I still should go help them get ready.’ Morrigan said opening the door and walking down the hallway. Kian flopped back on the bed and let out a sigh of frustration. She wasn’t going to let him back into good graces easily. As Morrigan walked down the hallway she bumped into Nicky. ‘Argument over?’ ‘To a point.’ ‘Ah I see, your going to push the limits.’ Nicky said leaning against the wall. ‘I might, have you seen Charlotte?’ ‘Her and Owen went for a walk. They said everything was ready for them to leave.’ ‘Oh... there goes that idea. Thanks.’ She said before turning around and going in the direction that she just came from. Morrigan stood in the doorway of the bedroom watching Kian who was standing by the window.
Ch 15
When he turned and saw her a smile crossed his face. ‘I thought you were going to help Charlotte pack.’ ‘Everything is already packed.’ ‘Oh...so what are you going to do now?’ He asked raising an eyebrow. ‘I really don’t know.’ She said walking into the room and closing the door. ‘I’ll help you figure that out.’ He said pulling her close to him and kissing her. They broke apart from the kiss breathlessly. ‘Well... what do you think, Mr. Egan?’ Morrigan asked with a shy smile. ‘I think that these have to go.’ He said motioning to her clothes then his own. Morrigan tossed the tunic on the ground followed by her pants then laid on the bed. Kian followed suet and climbed on top of her as their lips met in a kiss. ‘I really do love you.’ Kian said kissing her neck. ‘Hmmm...’ Kian moved up to a laying position next to her. ‘Did you know that?’ ‘I’ve figured that out over the last two days.’ She said half smiling. ‘By driving me mad?’ ‘Maybe.’ She said giggling. Kian leaned down and gave her a kiss and both of them knew their perfect life was back on track.
THE END, or is it?
