Ch 1

For the sake of the story neither Nicky nor Bryan is married and all the guys live in Sligo. Also Bryan doesn’t leave Westlife until later.

May 2004

Kerrie sighed as she trudged off the plane that had just landed in Sligo. ‘Ker, wait up.’ Her best friend of eight years called out running after her. ‘I’m just so happy to have a break.’ ‘You’re telling me.’ Jean said as they walked to the baggage claim. Kerrie was 25 and was a pharmacist. Jean was 24 and was finishing up law school. The girls had known each other since they were young and met at girl scouts but only became really close while working together in high school. Kerrie was the third partner in the pharmacy in which she worked and was the youngest RPH. She had worked there since her senior year of high school and after one year at a regular college transferred to pharmacy school. She had bought a house the year before with her boyfriend, John. They started dating the summer after she got out of high school. He was a year older then her and had no desire to do anything with his life. The only thing he did was work two nights during the week at Best Buy and other then that sat around. Sure she did love him but a month before she found out he was back into his old habit of dealing drugs. He stopped before they started dating but started again, Kerrie wasn’t even sure until he proposed to her. She knew he could have never saved up the money and soon after discovered a stash of drugs in his car. Kerrie threw the ring at him and ordered him out of her house. He left and she packed everything in boxes and that night got the locks changed as well as a security system. Less then a week later she got a friend of hers to move in with her. Thiago was finishing up his residency in a hospital and was only a few months away from being a full doctor.

Jean broke up with Danny three months before due to their lack of commitment. The girls had been planning the trip and both needed the break from daily life in the city. Jean’s neighbor was from Ireland and offered his house to the girls for two weeks. When they got to the house Kerrie flopped on the couch. ‘So glad to be free.’ ‘I still can’t believe John. Everyone really thought he had cleaned up his act that summer but I guess he really is a sneak.’ ‘No shit.’ Kerrie said getting up to look around. ‘Edmund has a nice place. He built this right?’ ‘Of course. When are we going to go pick up some Irish cuties?’ Jean asked following Kerrie around the house. ‘Tonight.’ Kerrie said laughing. ‘Good, its two now. I’m going to go have a nap. Wake me up at five.’ ‘All right. I’m going for a walk.’ Kerrie walked out the door and down the driveway. The house was in an upscale development and Edmund had helped build several of the houses and he owned a few of them. His wife, Kathy, had said two members of the Irish boy group Westlife lived there. Kayte, Kerrie’s younger sister, was a fan of them so Kerrie knew a little bit about them. She walked around the circle and was almost run over by a blonde guy. ‘Bloody hell! I’m so sorry.’ He said stopping his car. ‘It’s ok. I’m in my own world.’ She said half smiling. ‘Hmm . . . you’re not from here are you?’ ‘No I am from the US, Boston Mass.’ ‘I see, did you move here?’ ‘Just on vacation with a friend. Her neighbor owns that house.’ She said pointing to the large white house. ‘Edmund? So you must be the girls he was talking about. I’m Nicky Byrne, he built my house.’ ‘Kerrie Eddy, that’s why you look familiar, you’re in Westlife right? My sister is a fan.’ ‘In the US? I didn’t think we had any.’ ‘She says there are quite a few.’ ‘I’ll have to talk to Louis about that. If you and your friend want to be shown around, I can do it if you want.’ He said rather nervously. ‘Yea, that would be cool.’ ‘How about tomorrow afternoon?’ ‘Sounds good.’ ‘Ok and I have the number over there. I’ll call you around 10 and we can set a time.’ ‘Ok.’ ‘I’m sure you will have a great trip.’ He said smiling. ‘See yea.’ Kerrie continued her walk smiling. He was kind of cute, but not her type. She usually went for the bad boys and Kayte said Kian would be her type.

Ch 2

When Kerrie returned to the house she called Kayte and her sister freaked out and made her promise to get at least one picture and an autograph. It was four when she got off the phone she took a shower then got her clothes together. Kerrie ended up settling on a pair of black leather pants and a pink spaghetti strap tank top under a black see through shirt. She woke up Jean then straightens her hair and did her make up. Kerrie could pass as a local, and she had shoulder length red hair and blue eyes. Freckles made her pale complexion stand out. She did her make-up lightly then pulled her hair into a pony tail and then went to get some food ready. Jean took about an hour and a half to get ready. The girls ended up eating in her room while she finished getting ready. Jean also had a pale complexion and blue but had blonde hair and no freckles. People constantly thought they were sisters. Once they finished getting ready, it was about seven so they called a cab and went to a pub before going to clubs. The girls mostly talked and tried not to drink too much. Kerrie told Jean about the plans for the next day. ‘Ker, we’re not even here for a day and you already picked up a guy.’ ‘Picked him up? No he almost hit me and we just started talking.’ ‘Is he good looking?’ ‘Yea, remember that group I was showing you in Kayte’s room a few months ago?’ ‘Slightly.’ ‘You thought one of them was hot. One of the blonde ones but not him.’ ‘Maybe he’ll go tomorrow and I can get a booty call too.’ Jean said laughing. ‘Right, you can get a booty call because I’m just here to relax and take a break from relationships.’ ‘I didn’t say anything about relationships. Just let the old Ker come out and be wild like we used to be in high school before we got into relationships with the idiots.’ ‘I guess can do that while we’re here.’ ‘Ok, a good plan.’ They spent close to two hours planning what to do for their vacation before hitting the clubs. Jean flirted with a bouncer and got them into the VIP section of the club where celebrities were known to be at frequently. They made their way to the dance floor. Jean soon found herself dancing with some guy and Kerrie took a break at the bar. She sat there sipping a Corona when a guy started talking to her. ‘Hey.’ He said sitting next to her. ‘Hi.’ ‘That’s an American accent.’ ‘Very good. What state?’ ‘I know exactly what city, Boston.’ ‘You’re good.’ ‘Thanks, my mother has some friends that live there and her grandchildren have the accent.’ ‘So I take it, you’ve never been there?’ ‘Only once but only for two days for business.’ ‘That’s cool. I’m Kerrie by the way.’ ‘Kian.’ He said shaking her hand. ‘What brings you to Ireland?’ ‘Vacation, a greatly needed one.’ ‘You picked a good country. It’s very relaxing here.’ ‘Yea, my friend and I just got in today.’ ‘And you’re already hitting the clubs?’ ‘Yea, we’re party girls plus we both slept most of the flight. Are you from Sligo?’ ‘Born and bred, but now a days I’m hardly ever home. I’m in a band and we travel a lot.’ ‘That’s cool. I’m a pharmacist.’ ‘You must have good stories.’ ‘Some, not many. I’ve only been out of school for a little over a year.’ ‘Still that’s a good job. Want to dance?’ ‘I’d love to.’ They went out on the dance floor. Kian waved to the blonde Jean was dancing with. Kian and Kerrie moved close together and moved to the music. Kerrie started laughing when she noticed Jean in a full out make-out session with her dance partner. ‘Don’t worry about him. He’s my band mate, Bryan.’ She nodded as they moved closer. After a few songs they took a drink break as did Jean and Bryan. Kerrie and Kian started laughing at the other two. ‘What?’ Jean said. Kerrie motioned to around her lips. ‘Shit, that was long last lipstick.’ She said running to the bathroom as Bryan stood there confused. ‘Sorry, I think you’re stuck with that on your face until you can find someone with make-up remover.’ Kerrie said. ‘With what on my face?’ ‘Long-lasting lip stick.’ ‘Crap.’ He walked toward the bathroom as they other two sat at the bar. ‘That was classic.’ ‘If I had a camera, I would put that in every paper I knew.’ Kian said after ordering drinks. For the rest of the night they danced and talked, Kian and Kerrie couldn’t keep their hands to themselves. Jean managed to find make-up remover in her purse and saved her and Bryan further embarrassment. After awhile, they drove the girls home. ‘Nicky and Shay live in this development.’ ‘Nicky Byrne?’ ‘Yea.’ ‘I met him earlier. So you two are the other blondes in the group? I knew you looked familiar. My sister is a huge fan.’ ‘In the US?’ ‘Nicky asked the same thing. She says you guys have a good following.’ ‘Hmm . . . that’s interesting. You’re staying in Edmund’s house?’ ‘Yup, he’s my neighbor.’ Jean said as Kian pulled into the driveway and parked the car.

‘Come in and chill for a while.’ Jean said getting out of the car. Bryan got out after her and followed her up the stairs. Kerrie and Kian got out of the car next; they were both attracted to each other and had a hard time controlling them. Kian leaned in for a kiss and it turned into a short make-out session. Jean was making drinks in the kitchen and Bryan was starting to doze off in the chair when they went upstairs. They fell onto the bed kissing. They kicked off their shoes and climbed back on the bed. Ch 4

At 10 Nicky called Edmund’s house and a groggy Kerrie answered the phone. ‘Hello?’ She asked tiredly. ‘Hi Kerrie, it’s Nicky.’ ‘Hey.’ She said sitting up and wrapping the sheet around her. ‘What time do you want to leave today?’ ‘How about 11:30?’ ‘Sounds good to me. Did I wake you?’ ‘Naww . . . I was getting up anyway.’ ‘Ok, I’ll swing by and pick you two up then.’ ‘Ok see yea.’ She hung up the phone and looked at Kian who was still asleep. Kerrie tossed on her robe and cleaned the room up a bit and went to wake up Jean. After waking her up she took a quick shower and tossed on a pair of jeans and a sweater then went to make breakfast. Jean came down shortly after dressed in a pair of nylon pants and a long sleeved tee shirt. ‘How was the remainder of your night?’ Kerrie asked flipping the pancakes. ‘Just peachy, Bryan wouldn’t sleep with me.’ Kerrie started laughing. ‘I bet he’s a decent guy and didn’t want to sleep with you when you were drunk.’ ‘Whatever. So we’re leaving at 11:30?’ ‘Yea, if you want to go wake up Bryan I can finish these then go wake up Kian.’ Jean reluctantly got up and went to go wake up Bryan. They both came down the stairs and sat at the two places with food in front of them. ‘Jean, can you watch these for two minutes and flip them when they’re ready?’ She nodded and Kerrie went up the stairs. She opened the door to her room to see Kian still asleep. Kerrie walked over to the bed and kissed him softly as his eyes opened. ‘Good morning.’ She said sitting on the edge of the bed. ‘Hey.’ He said sitting up. ‘If you want to get dressed I’m cooking breakfast.’ ‘Ok, what time is it?’ ‘Quarter of 11.’ ‘I’ll be down in a few.’ Kerrie went back down stairs and finished making food for her and Kian. Jean and Bryan were sitting in the living room talking. Kian came down five minutes later and sat next to Kerrie at the table. ‘These pancakes are great. Are you naturally good at everything?’ ‘I don’t know about that.’ ‘I had a great time last night and I’d really like to see you again.’ Kerrie nodded. ‘What about tonight? We can go catch a movie and go out to eat or something.’ ‘Ok, that sounds good. We’re going out today and I’m not sure what time we’ll be back. Here’s the number for here.’ She said grabbing paper and writing the number. ‘Ok and here’s my cell phone. Call me when you get home if it’s before five and if I don’t hear from yea by 6 I’ll call here.’ She nodded. They continued to make small talk and soon the doorbell rang. Jean answered the door and let Nicky in and he saw Bryan sitting on the couch. ‘Hi Bry.’ ‘Hi Nix, so your taking the girls out today?’ ‘Yea, just on a tour of Sligo.’ Kian heard the familiar voice and walked into the living room. ‘Kian, what a surprise to see you and Bryan here.’ Kerrie emerged next to Kian and Nicky’s smile faded. ‘Are you girls ready?’ ‘Just give me a second to finish cleaning up.’ Kerrie said going back into the kitchen. ‘Jean, please let me make it up to you.’ Bryan said following her outside. ‘Maybe.’ ‘Come on. We can go see this show. It’ll be fun.’ ‘Ok, I guess so.’ ‘Cool. I’ll pick you up at 6:30 and you don’t have to get dressed up.’ He said walking toward Kian’s car but tripped. Jean started to laugh as he did. Kian looked at Nicky. ‘What time will you bring the girls back?’ ‘About five.’ 'Good.’ Kian walked into the kitchen. ‘Kerrie, how about I pick you up at six? Nicky said you will be back about five.’ ‘That sounds good.’ ‘Ok.’ Nicky walked outside and got into his car followed by Jean who got into the backseat. ‘I’m Jean by the way.’ ‘I’m Nicky, and I’m in the group with Bryan and Kian.’ ‘That’s cool.’ ‘How did you meet Bryan and Kian last night?’ ‘At a club. I was dancing with Bryan and Kerrie started to talk to Kian at the bar.’ He nodded and noticed Kerrie and Kian walk out of the house. He kissed her then hopped into his car. Kerrie walked over to Nicky’s car and got it. ‘Hey.’ ‘Hi.’ ‘That is so weird that we met Bryan and Kian at the club last night and all three of you are in the same group.’ ‘Yea it is.’ He said not too happily. He drove them around showing them most of the important things then they walked around and did a little bit of shopping. Kerrie and Nicky talked most of the time while Jean bought gifts for her family.

Ch 5

Nicky dropped the girls off at 4:30. ‘Thanks so much, Nicky.’ Kerrie said giving him a hug. ‘Are you girls going to Dublin?’ ‘Maybe for a day or two next week.’ ‘If you want, I can drive you. I’m going to visit my family.’ ‘I don’t want to impose.’ ‘No, it would be fun. You could stay at my parent’s house it has plenty of room and they love guests.’ ‘Let me think about it and I’ll call you tomorrow.’ ‘Ok, see you girls later.’ ‘Bye.’ They walked inside and Jean went to put her things with her bags. Kerrie watched TV for a bit then went to go talk to Jean. ‘Do you mind if I go out with Kian tonight?’ ‘It’s cool. I’m going out with Bryan.’ ‘What time?’ ‘6:30 and you?’ ‘6, what do you think about going to Dublin with Nicky?’ ‘Whatever, he likes you.’ ‘No, he doesn’t.’ ‘I think he does. When he saw you and Kian he was very disappointed.’ Kerrie just shook her head. ‘I’m not here to get into a relationship. Kian seems to be looking for the same thing as me, good sex.’ ‘Oh yea, what happened last night?’ ‘We had sex twice. Jean, it was so great.’ ‘I hope tonight is great. It was a pair of khakis and a white sweater. When Jean came out of the bathroom she already had her hair done. ‘You picked out an outfit? Thanks so much.’ ‘Anytime. How do I look?’ ‘Great as usual. But you’ll freeze your ass off with that mini skirt but you have that on for other reasons. Are you sure this outfit isn’t too conservative?’ ‘No, it’s sophisticated. Kian stood there wearing black pants and a white shirt with a leather jacket. ‘Come on in.’ ‘That skirt is dangerous.’ He said looking at her ass as she walked into the other room. ‘Tomorrow during the day Shane’s family is having a party and I want you to come with me.’ ‘What type of party?’ ‘Just a little get together during the day. Ch 6

After they had finished eating they went to the movies. They ended up seeing some independent movie and the theater was pretty much empty. They sat up the back of the theater talking quietly. I haven’t seen you all week.’ ‘Mom, I’ve been busy.’ ‘Is this your new girlfriend?’ Kian continued to hold her hand as they walked across the street into his parent’s yard. ‘Mom, you don’t have to yell across the street. This is Kerrie; she’s staying in Edmund’s house while she’s here on vacation.’ ‘Hi Mrs. Egan.’ She said shaking her hand. ‘You’re such a lovely girl. You must be from Boston.’ ‘Yes, I am.’ ‘That is such a nice place. How long are you here for?’ ‘Two weeks.’ ‘A nice long vacation.’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Kian, you should have her over to eat some night this week.’ ‘I don’t know mom, she’s very busy.’ ‘Hunny, can you come over for dinner one night?’ ‘I guess so.’ ‘Are you here by yourself?’ ‘No, I have a friend with me.’ ‘Good, you can bring her also.’ ‘Ok, I’ll have Kian set the time and date when it’s best for you.’ ‘Ok, it was nice meeting you.’ ‘It was nice meeting you also. See you two later.’ Kian and Kerrie walked across the street. ‘Your mother’s so nice.’ ‘But she likes to pry into my business.’ ‘All mothers do.’ ‘You don’t have to come for supper.’ ‘It would be nice. You could bring Bryan too.’ ‘Ok, whatever.’ Kian opened the door to his house and they walked inside. It was nicely decorated, most likely by his mother. Kian picked her up. ‘Now your mine.’ He said carrying her upstairs to his room.

Ch 7

Kian set her down on the bed and took off her jacket then went to work unbuttoning her skirt. He slid that down her legs and took off her sandals then went to work on her shirt which he pulled over her head. Kian then tossed his jacket and shirt on the floor and kicked off his shoes. A brown haired man opened the door. ‘Hey Kian and Bryan.’ ‘Hey Shane, this is Kerrie.’ ‘Yes, I heard all about her from Nicky. Come on in.’ They all walked into the living room to see people sitting around people were also in the dinging room and kitchen. Kerrie also met Mark and managed to get a few group pictures for her sister. When Kian went to answer his cell phone Kerrie talked to Nicky. ‘Hey.’ He said as she sat down next to him. ‘Hey yourself, I talked to Jean about Dublin and she said it would be fine.’ ‘That’s good I talked to my mum this morning and she said anytime is fine. When is it good for you?’ ‘What about leaving Thursday?’ ‘Sounds great to me. I talked to Louis about fans in the US and I guess he heard a lot about that recently. He’s trying to work out a short tour with our record label.’ ‘That’s cool, I’m sure my sister will be thrilled.’ They talked about Dublin for a little bit longer then Kian came over. ‘Kerrie, I have to leave early. My little brother just fell out of a tree and I need to take him to the hospital.’ ‘Want me to go with you?’ ‘No, stay and have a good time. I’ll call you later on.’ Kian rushed out of the house and went to his car. ‘Kian’s little brother Colm is always hurting himself. Not purposely, of course but Kian gets very worked up about it.’ Nicky said. ‘What do you think is going on between Kian and I?’ ‘You two seem to be dating.’ Kerrie just shook her head. ‘What is going on?’ ‘I don’t know. Ch 9

Kerrie called her parents to check in then called work. Everyone was great so she could relax. I hardly ever watch TV.’ ‘Same here.’ ‘Shane and I are going to his family’s house to go horse back riding tomorrow. Want to join us?’ ‘I’ve never tried it before but I’d love to.’ ‘It will be fun. Once you get the hang of it; riding a horse is relaxing.’ ‘At least I’ll have funny stories to tell.’ They flipped through the stations and settled on ‘Interview With a Vampire’ which was on a movie channel. By the time the movie was over Kian called from the hospital. Kerrie told him to stay with his brother and she’d call later on. Kerrie and Nicky went out to eat then drove around for a little bit. They went back to his house for a few drinks and continued to get to know each other. Around midnight Kerrie headed back to Edmund’s house and Nicky planned to pick her up at 10. Kerrie was up and ready at 10. She met Nicky outside along with Shane. The drive to his families house was filled with laughs of horse back riding stories. That day flew by as did the rest of the week. Wednesday night Kerrie, Jean, and Bryan went to Kian’s parents house for dinner. Colm looked like a little Kian and was so funny telling stories about how he is always hurting himself. Thursday Nicky drove the girls to Dublin and they stayed till Sunday night and saw all the sights. For the next week they only saw the guys at night after they had meetings about their next tour. Soon enough the girls were getting ready to go home and Kerrie knew she had to talk to Kian. It was their last night there and they guys took the girls out for a few drinks then the couples went their separate ways. Kian and Kerrie went back to Edmund’s house then she brought up the topic. ‘I know we haven’t addressed the topic of what we’re doing and I think we should.’ ‘Ok, want me to start?’ ‘Sure.’ ‘Kerrie, I think you’re a great women and I really want to get to know you better. Yes, it started as a physical attraction but I feel something between us.’ Kerrie nodded then spoke. ‘These last two weeks have been a ball. I didn’t plan to come here and meet someone like you. I just got out of a seven year relationship and I don’t want you to think that this will turn into anything serious. We had a great time together but right now I can’t be in another serious relationship.’ ‘I see where you’re coming from. So we’re going to end this as...’ ‘How about we can consider that we’re dating but not exclusively.’ Kian nodded and tried to smile but her comment was a disappointment. ‘If you want we can just end this tonight and if when we see each other again we can see what happens.’ ‘Ok, is that cool with you?’ ‘Yea.’ ‘Thanks for making this trip memorable, Kian.’ She said kissing him. ‘Have a good flight home.’ ‘Bye.’ Kian left the house and Kerrie went up to bed. Their flight was leaving around 8 and Nicky offered to drive them to the airport.

Ch 10

The flight home was silent. Jean slept most of it and Kerrie knew her and Bryan were an item. Kerrie had promised to call Nicky when they landed and keep in touch. She had regretted not spending another night with Kian but she knew it was better that way. During the next few weeks life went back to normal. Kerrie had gotten a letter from John from detox and he was doing good. She actually wrote him back and they were going to make peace. The other lads and Jean are outside. She set the whole thing up.’ ‘Where are you guys staying?’ ‘We have to check in-‘ ’Don’t be crazy. I have a guest room with two beds at my house plus a couch bed and Jean has a guest room.’ Meeta appeared beside Kerrie. ‘Ker, who are these handsome guys?’ ‘Nicky and Kian, this is Meeta one of the pharmacists I work with.’ ‘Hi.’ They said. ‘So this is what an American pharmacy looks like.’ Nicky said looking around. ‘Come in and I’ll give you the grand tour.’ She showed them around the pharmacy making jokes about certain drugs especially Viagra and Birth Control Pills. Meeta motioned for her to go. ‘Are you sure?’ ‘Yea, you’re helping me out tomorrow morning a half an hour is not a big deal.’ ‘Thanks Meeta. I’ll see you tomorrow.’ Kerrie hung up her lab coat and they went outside. They went back to Kerrie’s house and it was decided that Kian, Nicky, and Mark was going to stay at her house while Bryan and Shane were staying at Jean’s apartment. Thiago returned home from work and was introduced to everyone. Kerrie ordered food for dinner and Jean went to pick up Nina at work. Nicky spotted a picture on a table; the picture was of Jean and Kerrie from a few years before. There was also two men in the picture which he assumed to be Danny and John. Kerrie picked up the little golden retriever. ‘This is my new puppy, PJ.’ Kerrie put PJ down as he went around sniffing everyone. Nina and Jean came in moments later. Nina looked nothing like Jean or Kerrie. She had dark brown hair with auburn streaks. Nina did have pale skin but she had a good number of piercings in her ears, she also had her nose pierced. Kerrie introduced her to everyone. Nina was the only one who didn’t finish college and she was the manager of a clothing store. PJ growled at her and Nina just laughed. ‘Ker, your dog hates me just like your oh so friendly roommate down stairs.’ ‘Nina, PJ is only a puppy and I’m not going to say anything about Thiago.’ ‘Great, do you have any drinks here?’ ‘Only a few bottles of rum and vodka so if you want beer you’ll have to run down to the store.’ ‘Ok, anyone else want anything?’ ‘I’ll go I need to have a smoke.’ Mark said followed by Bryan and Jean. ‘We’ll be back in a few.’ ‘What are you getting?’ ‘Umm... how about 2 six packs of Sminiroff Triple Black, and 12 pack of Guinness, and a 24 of Bud light. I’ll just take my car incase we want anything else.’ ‘Sounds good.’

Ch 11

Nicky motioned to the picture. ‘Is that John?’ ‘Yea, that’s from the summer we started dating.’ Nicky nodded and took a seat on the couch holding PJ. Kian spoke up. ‘Is Thiago just your roommate?’ ‘Yea, I’ve know him for years. I used to date Thiago’s younger brother, Josh. Plus we worked together when I was in high school. I have guests over.’ ‘Oh the Irish guys?’ ‘Yea.’ ‘Oh I see. Are you dating one of them?’ ‘No.’ ‘Do you like one of them.’ ‘John! Your so nosey. I’ll see what I can do and if I can stop by I’ll let your mom know, ok?’ ‘Alright. See yea.’ ‘Bye.’ Kerrie hung up the phone. ‘Your talking to John?’ Nicky choked out. ‘Just talking to him, his mom talked me into visiting him in rehab last weekend. She still thinks that I’m going to marry him someday.’ Kian sat there silently. ‘Last week when my sister came over she brought with her the Westlife Greatest Hits Tour DVD.’ ‘What did yea think of it?’ Shane asked. ‘It was good. I should call her and have her come down. Kayte would love to meet you guys.’ Kerrie went to the phone and called her sister. After a few minutes she hung up the phone. ‘That girl almost died when I told her you guys were here.’ Kerrie excused herself to her room to change out of her work clothes. Kian got up a few minutes later and knocked on her door. ‘Give me a second.’ A few seconds later she opened the door dressed in fleece pants and a long sleeved shirt. 'Can we talk?’ He asked as she nodded. He followed her into the room and closed the door. ‘When we first met I was foolish to just hop in bed with you. From the minute we met I know I was in love with you. I know your still getting over John but I want and need to be with you.’ Kian said quickly taking her hands as she stood there shocked. ‘Kian, this is a surprise. Kayte sat near Mark and Nina settled on the floor by the coffee table. Kerrie was sitting on the love seat by herself until Kian came in and sat next to her. Nicky was sitting on the couch next to Shane and Bryan who had Jean on his lap. By the end of the movie everyone had a slight buzz. Jean, Nina, Mark, and Bryan headed back to the girls apartment and dropped Kayte off at her parents house. The next morning Kerrie got up early to get ready for work. Kerrie got into the building at eight on the dot to see her tech, Shanna, laughing. ‘Meeta, told me you had guests over so I figured you’d be late. Did you spend the night with Kian?’ ‘No, PJ wanted to share the bed too.’ ‘You have tonight.’ ‘Yea, when we get back from Roxy. I have an idea why don’t you meet us there and you can crash at my place if you want.’ ‘I don’t know.’ ‘Come on, my friend Nicky is so your type.’ ‘Ok, I’ll go.’ ‘Great, I’ll call you when we’re leaving so we’ll take the train there.’ ‘Sounds good, now I’ll have to find something to wear.’ Shanna was in her fifth year of pharmacy school and Kerrie had met her in the library when she went there, then got her a job. I also have a Navigator that I just brought.’ Nicky shook his head laughing. ‘You sure live a good life.’ ‘I worked hard for six years to get out of school so I should pamper myself.’ She said smiling. Within fifteen minutes they arrived at John’s rehab building. They walked inside to meet John’s mother who hugged Kerrie. ‘Mrs. Anderson, this is my friend Nicky. He’s visiting from Ireland.’ ‘John said that. Isn’t there a few others?’ ‘Yes, their still sleeping.’ Nicky said shaking her hand. Kerrie checked in at the desk and waited to be called. When she was called her and Nicky walked down the hallway to the visiting room where John stood walking back and forth. He looked the same as the picture that Nicky had seen. We’re not dating. I’m kind of seeing Kian.’ ‘Oh, sorry then.’ John said laughing. The three of them sat at the table and joked around. Nicky saw how well they got along together but he noticed he was still in love with her while Kerrie didn’t see to still be in love with him. About a half an hour Kerrie got up and hugged him. ‘I’ll see you later John.’ ‘Ok, I get out in about a week.’ ‘Bye.’ ‘Nice meeting you.’ Nicky said following Kerrie out the door as tears started to fall from her eyes. ‘Kerrie, are you ok?’ ‘It’s so hard letting go.’ She sobbed as he hugged her. ‘Maybe it’s to hard for you to talk to him yet.’ ‘I still love him but we can’t be together.’ She sobbed as Nicky stroked her hair trying to calm her down. ‘John seems like a great guy. You both can move on.’ ‘I know-I know.’ Kerrie stopped crying and wiped her eyes. ‘Thanks, Nicky.’ She said as they finished walking to the car.

the morning when we get back.’ ‘Yea!! What are yea making?’ Nina said excitedly. ‘I bought stuff for chicken, broccoli and zitti. Then for salad, rolls and brownies.’ ‘Good, cause I’m hungary. Work was such a drag this morning so I came home sick.’ Kerrie shook her head as her and Nicky made their way into the kitchen with the bags. Kerrie started to put things away when Jean walked into the kitchen. ‘What took yea so long?’ ‘I had to stay a little late to talk to Shanna, I invited her tonight.’ ‘That’s cool, you went to go see John I know it. Your eyes are still red. Kerrie, how many times do I have to say it he’ll hurt you again.’ ‘It was the final break I needed. Jean, I really don’t want to talk about this now.’ She said walking out of the kitchen and into Kian who was drying his hair with a towel. ‘Hey, are you ok?’ ‘Im fine.’ She said walking into her room and slamming the door. Jean moved into the doorway and shook her head before she helped Nicky put the food away. Kian looked at Nicky then Jean. ‘What was that about?’ ‘Her and Nicky went to go see John and I knew she was upset about it. She tried to lie and cover it up but I can tell when she’s been crying.’ ‘Jean, she didn’t want to tell you because she knew you would act this way. Kerrie just wanted to put an end to everything. John knows she’s seeing you, Kian, he poses no threat.’ Nicky walked out of the room and knocked on Kerrie’s door. ‘Who is it?’ ‘Nicky.’ ‘Come in.’ Nicky opened the door to see her tossing pictures in a box along with some clothes. ‘I’m sorry about Jean.’ ‘Don’t be. I think deep down inside she’s scared for you.’ ‘Maybe.’ Kerrie said sitting down next to the box on the bed. ‘That did put a close to things. John thought we were
going to get back together someday, but that can never happen. Anyway I’m going to throw all this out and that’s it for that old stage of my life.’ Kerrie looked at the clock and it was 4:30. ‘I’m going to go make supper.’ ‘Need help?’ ‘No thanks, you can rest and hang out.’ Kerrie said getting up. ‘Thanks for going with me.’ ‘Anytime, I knew you would need someone to talk to.’ Kerrie half smiled as she made her way back into the kitchen. She went right to work making the salad then putting the chicken on to cook. Jean, Nina, Bryan, and Mark went back to the girls apartment to rest before tonight. Shane and Kian were watching TV with Thiago and PJ while Nicky took a nap. By the time everything was done cooking it was 4:30 so Kerrie took a quick shower then blow-dried her hair and pulled it into a high ponytail. She tossed on a pair of shorts and a tee shirt then went to check on supper. Kerrie walked into the room to see Thiago on the phone talking to Josh. Shane had dozed off in the chair while Kian sat there looking at her.

Ch 16

‘Guys, supper is done.’ ‘Ker, do mind if Josh comes tonight?’ ‘Not a problem.’ Kerrie walked up the stairs to get Nicky. ‘Nicky, supper is ready.’ ‘Ok, I’ll be down in a minute.’ When Kerrie got to the bottom of the stairs Kian was standing there with a grin. He grabbed her hand and pulled her into her room. ‘I can’t wait until later.’ He whispered kissing her as he closed the door. ‘Everyone will be here soon.’ ‘Then jump in the shower with me.’ He said tugging on her shirt. She began to protest but he kissed her and she didn’t stop him. He pulled her shirt off as they moved into the bathroom. Kerrie put the shower on as they both hurried with their clothes. They got in the shower and their lips joined in a kiss as their hands roamed each others bodies. Kerrie backed up against the wall as she pulled Kian closer. She put her arms around his neck as he entered her. They both groaned and Kian set a fast pace. A few minutes later they both orgasmed. Quickly they both cleaned up then got out of the shower. Kian dressed then walked into the living room where everyone was sitting around waiting. ‘Where’s Kerrie?’ Jean asked raising an eyebrow. ‘Getting dressed.’ ‘Oh ok let us all sit around waiting while you two have a quicky.’ Nina said laughing. Kian turned a light shade of red as Thiago came up the stairs with a guy he assumed to be Josh. ‘How we getting there?’ Josh asked. ‘Taking the train since there are no designated drivers plus parking is expensive.’ 10 minutes passed and Kerrie still wasn’t ready so Jean walked down the hallway and barged into the room to see her straightening her hair. ‘Hurry up we’re all ready. Shanna will be waiting.’ ‘Sorry.’ ‘You two had last night.’ ‘PJ wanted to sleep in the bed. Hey, it wasn’t my idea.’ She said putting up her hands laughing. ‘Give me that. You finish your make-up.’ Jean finished her hair then went outside so she could get dressed. ‘Everyone ready?’ Jean asked. ‘Yup!’ Nina said holding up a beer bottle. ‘Great, your already smashed.’ ‘I only had one drink for good luck.’ Kerrie emerged 5 minutes later dressed in a white skirt and light blue top. Josh gave her a look as she took Kian’s hand.
They all went outside and started to the train station which was two blocks away. Luckily they got a train right away and got to the club before it got too crowded. ‘So I see you have a better taste in men now after dough boy.’ Josh said standing next to Kerrie at the bar. ‘Why is who I date now your concern?’ ‘We had a good thing while it lasted.’ ‘Until you found a ditzy blonde. Oh look there’s one.’ Kerrie said walking away to go say hi to Shanna. The rest of the night went well and at 2 they got a train back to Kerrie’s place.

Ch 17

Everyone went their separate ways. Josh crashed on the floor in Thiago’s room. And Shane offered to sleep on the couch. Kerrie and Kian did their best to keep their voices down until they both dozed off around 5. At 10 Kerrie awoke to the ringing phone next to her ear. ‘Hello?’ She mumbled. ‘Kerrie, it’s your mother. When are we going to meet your new boyfriend?’ ‘What boyfriend?’ ‘Debbie saw you yesterday walking to the train with your guests and said you were very cozy with one of them.’ ‘Mom, we’re friends. How about we all go out to dinner tonight?’ ‘That sounds lovely. What about Olives?’ ‘Sure.’ ‘Great, see you all outside around 5.’ ‘Bye mom.’ Kerrie hung up the phone said Kian started laughing. ‘I’m only your friend.’ He asked with a puppy dog face. ‘What am I going to say to my mother, hang on let me ask him he’s right next to me in bed?’ She asked laughing. ‘Will you consider me your boyfriend if I tell them?’ He asked smirking. ‘Let’s see.’ She got up and walked into the bathroom as he went to follow her. ‘I don’t think so it’s way to early.’ She said locking the door as he laid back in bed. A few minutes later she came out in a towel, she grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom to put them on. By 2 everyone was up and had eaten something. Thiago and Josh had left to go to church at 8 and wouldn’t be back till that night. Kerrie drove Shanna home and she was glad to see her and Nicky hit it off. When she got home she called Jean about the dinner plans. ‘Chase, you have to be there by quarter of 5 ok?’ ‘Alright.’ ‘See yea then.’ Everyone was getting ready and this time Kian kept his hands to himself. At 4:30 they started walking to Olives which was on the other side of town. ‘Look at all the bloody pubs.’ Nicky said looking at all the bars and restaurants on the way to Olives. ‘Nicky, everyone in this town is a big drinker.’ ‘Kerrie Marie, is that you?’ Kerrie turned around to see her cousin Brian and his wife standing outside Sully’s. ‘Hey Brian.’ She said giving him a hug. ‘I heard about John. I’m sorry.’ Tammy said giving her a hug. ‘Tammy, your pregnant again?’ ‘Yea, and it’s finally a girl!’ ‘I’m so happy for you. Tammy and Brian these are my friends from Ireland Shane, Nicky, and Kian. Guys this is my cousin Brian and his wife, Tammy.’ ‘Which one of you are the new man?’ Brian said looking at the three of them. ‘Bri, leave them alone.’ Shane pointed to Kian who was smirking. ‘You better treat her good or I’ll have to call in some of my connections.’ Brian said shaking his hand as Kian turned pale. ‘Brian, stop scaring him. You don’t have to worry about Brian, his brother Jimmy has more connections.’ Tammy said laughing. ‘We better be going. I don’t want to keep mommy dearest waiting.’ Kerrie said rolling her eyes. ‘See yea later, I’ll give you a call to come over and watch the boys.’ ‘Ok, see yea and congrats.’ They walked down the street and managed to get to Olives at 5.

Ch 18

‘Kerrie, you are almost late again.’ Kerrie’s mother said hugging her. ‘We saw Brian and Tammy. Did you know she’s having a baby girl?’ ‘Just found out last night when I was watching Wil, Colin, and Ronan.’ ‘Mom and dad, this is Nicky, Shane, Bryan, Mark, and Kian.’ ‘It has to be one of the blondes. Let me guess you.’ She said taking Nicky’s hand. ‘It’s me Mrs. Eddy.’ Kian said stepping forward. ‘This is a surprise. Please call me Ellen.’ Kayte came outside. ‘Our table’s all set.’ Everyone went inside. Kian sat next to Ellen who was asking him a million questions. Nicky sat next to John and they talked about Ireland. Once dinner arrived Ellen switched places with John and started to talk to Nicky who she seemed to like better. Kian took the bill after much dispute, Kerrie was shocked that he didn’t freak under pressure. They all went outside and everyone went
their own ways. Kayte and Mark were going to a bar along with Jean and Bryan. Everyone else went back to Kerrie’s place, the guys all called to check in with their families while Kerrie looked through the continuing education classes she needed to complete for next year. Everyone headed to bed early except Kerrie who sat up reading a book. Nicky wandered down the stairs at 11 to have a smoke and she joined him outside. ‘Egan’s asleep already?’ ‘Yea.’ ‘What did my mother ask you about?’ ‘If I had a girlfriend, which was a no since we broke up several months ago.’ ‘Want to talk about it?’ ‘There’s not much to say. We were together since we were 15 but she wanted to get married now and start a family right away. She didn’t like the fact that I wanted to focus on Westlife and wait to have a family.’ ‘If she really loved you she would have understood. I was lucky that John sat by and waited for me to get settled but he had to screw up.’ ‘Were you really ready to settle down?’ ‘No, I wanted a long engagement. We didn’t get that far.’ She said half smiling. ‘I wanted to marry her and I would have left Westlife but I’m not quite ready to have kids.’ ‘Hey her loss, right?’ ‘I guess so.’ ‘So... how did you like Shanna?’ ‘She’s really sweet and nice. We talked a lot.’ ‘That’s good.’ ‘I was surprised about you and Kian. I thought you didn’t want a serious boyfriend.’ ‘I don’t but he keeps bringing it up.’ ‘Just tell him to cool it. Trust me he’ll back down. He really likes you and doesn’t want to loose you.’ ‘He’s a great guy and all but I’m just physically attracted to him. There’s no other feelings there.’ ‘Maybe you can get to know him more.’ ‘That’s what he said.’ ‘He’s a good guy just give him a chance.’ Nicky said finishing his smoke. ‘I better get to bed. Are you coming in?’ Kerrie asked getting up. ‘Not yet.’ ‘Ok, good night.’ Kerrie went inside leaving the screen door open.

Ch 19

Monday and Tuesday Kerrie had the late shift 2-10 so everyone just hung out. On Wednesday Kian took Kerrie out to dinner before meeting everyone else to get some drinks. On Thursday night they went to the movies. On Friday Kerrie had the day off since it was her weekend to work. They hung around her house most of the day before going out to eat before taking them to the airport. Kerrie did get to know Kian a lot better but she was still unsure about her feelings. Two months later the girls were going to visit them in London while they had a long weekend off. A few days before they were leaving Jean was at Kerrie’s house hanging out before they were going shopping. ‘My body is so fucked up!’ Kerrie said from her room. ‘Why is that?’ ‘I haven’t gotten my period in almost two months.’ ‘Did you and Kian use protection?’ Jean asked. ‘Oh shit.’ ‘Hang on I’ll go to the store.’ Jean grabbed her bag and hurried down the street and returned 10 minutes later with a pregnancy test. She tossed Kerrie the bag and she went into the bathroom. ‘Hey Chase, you check that in 10 minutes I can’t.’ Kerrie said laying across the love seat. Jean emerged from the bathroom 10 minutes later with a small smile. ‘Your gonna be a mom!’ ‘Oh fuck.’ Kerrie said putting her head in her hands. ‘Come on, you have to be excited.’ ‘No, I’m not. This sucks!’ She said getting up. ‘At least lets go shopping and get your mind off it.’ ‘I guess.’ The next morning Kerrie woke up in a cold sweat, how was she going to tell Kian? Kerrie cancelled her ticket then left a message on Kian’s phone that she wasn’t going. That night and the next two days she wouldn’t answer her phone. Kerrie even avoided Jean, on the day of the flight she went to her doctor to get an official test. They would be getting back to her the next day. Jean arrived in London and Kian was frantic. ‘What is going on?’ ‘I can’t say. I’ll try to call her again and either she’ll tell you or I will tomorrow.’ Kian nodded and waited while Jean called her and she got her machine again. ‘Ker, it’s Jean. I’m in London and either you call Kian by tomorrow morning or I’m talking to him for you.’ Jean left the hotel number and shook her head. Meanwhile John had just called Kerrie and she actually picked up after looking at the caller ID. ‘Hello?’ ‘Hey Kerrie, it’s me.’ He said into the phone happily. ‘What’s up John?’ ‘I’m all done with rehab and I’m going to therapy.' 'That’s really great.’ ‘I heard you were dating one of the Irish guys.’ ‘I kinda am.’ ‘That doesn’t sound too good.’ ‘No, it isn’t. Why don’t you stop by tomorrow and we can talk?’ ‘Sure, what time?’ ‘How about around 10.’ ‘Sounds great. See yea then.’ ‘Bye.’ Kerrie hung up the phone before he could say anything else.

Ch 20

The next morning she rolled out of bed around 9:30. Kerrie quickly took a shower and by then John had arrived. They sat on the couch talking and at 11 when the phone rang Kerrie dove for it. It was the doctor and she wasn’t pregnant. She let out a sigh of relief and told John the whole story. By 12 he left and Kerrie sat on the couch relieved. It was now afternoon in London so Jean talked to Kian. He kicked everyone out of the room as Jean paced nervously. ‘Umm... I really shouldn’t be the one to tell you this but your going to be a dad. A few days ago Kerrie found out she is pregnant.’ Jean said quickly as Kian sat there in shock. ‘When did she find out?’ ‘Wednesday, it was an at home test but their pretty accurate.’ ‘Wow.’ ‘She’s really upset over this. Can you not tell anyone until she says it herself?’ ‘Of course. Thanks for telling me.’ Kian called the airport and got a ticket into Boston. They dropped him off at the airport and when they got back to the hotel Jean got a call. ‘Jean, I found out this morning that I’m not pregnant.’ ‘I guess that is good.’ ‘Yea it is. I’m going to call Kian tomorrow to talk to him about it.’ ‘I don’t think you need to.’ ‘Why?’ ‘He’s on a plane to Boston.’ Jean muttered. ‘Oh crap.’ ‘Sorry.’ ‘It’s not your fault, Shit I gotta go I’ll talk to you when you get back.’ Kerrie hung up the phone and started pacing again. Much later that night there was a knocking on the door. Kerrie made Thiago answer it and it was Kian standing there with flowers. Kerrie just started crying from the couch. Thiago went down to his room. Kian shut the door and walked over to her. ‘I’m really happy about this.’ ‘Kian, don’t-‘ ’Don’t what?’ ‘Please don’t say anything. I know Jean told you but it was a false alarm. I got a test done at my doctors office and it came back negative.’ ‘Maybe it was wrong.’ ‘Those tests don’t lie.’ She said wiping her tears with the back of her hand. ‘I’m sorry.’ ‘Don’t be sorry. Kian, I wasn’t ready to have a baby. Today I talked this over with John-‘ ’Why are you still talking to him?’ ‘I needed a friend and I wanted to see how he was.’ She said defensively. ‘He’s only going to hurt you.’ He said taking her hand. ‘He already hurt me. I gave John my heart and he betrayed me.’ She said looking at her hands. ‘I will never hurt you like that.’ Kian said lifting her chin. ‘That’s what he said. Don’t make promises you can’t keep.’ Kerrie said moving away from him. ‘I have something for you.’ He said reaching into his pocket. ‘Kian, please don’t.’ Kerrie said getting up as tears started to fall. He looked up at her and she turned then ran to her room slamming the door. He tossed his jacket on the stairs and put the box in there. Kian slowly walked to her room when he opened the door she turned her back to him. ‘I shouldn’t have compared you to John.’ She said trying to stop crying. ‘I’m not going to lie to you I was happy about the baby. I want to be with you so I’ll wait as long as it takes.’ He said rubbing her back. ‘Thank you.’ She said hugging him. ‘I’m sorry you came all this way for that.’ She said half smiling. ‘At least I got to see you.’ He said getting up. ‘Stay, it’s way to late to take another flight home.’ She said patting the bed next to her. ‘I can always get a plane in the morning.’ ‘Good so I can make it up to you.’ She said pulling her shirt off. ‘Just lay with me.’ He said laying down on the bed. Kerrie curled up to him and rested her head on his chest. Within minutes she was asleep and not long after Kian also fell asleep.

Ch 21

The next morning Kerrie actually woke up with a smile when she felt Kian’s arms around her. She slipped out of bed and made a quick breakfast then came back with it. Kian woke up when he felt her sit next to him. ‘Here I made you breakfast.’ She said putting the tray on the night stand. ‘That was nice.’ He said sitting up and taking a sip of the coffee. ‘Let me go get you some clothes.’ Kerrie went down to Thiago’s room and since he had already gone to work she took a pair of his nylon pants and a tee shirt then hurried up stairs. ‘Hopefully these will fit.’ ‘I think so.’ ‘Eat up.’ He smiled and started to dig in to the stack of pancakes. After Kian finished eating then he booked a flight home. Kerrie dropped him off at the airport 2 hours later then went to pick up an extra shift at work. On Tuesday Jean came back from London. Kerrie really didn’t want to talk to her so Nina came up to make peace. After about 2 weeks everything started to cool down and at least Jean and Kerrie were talking. Kerrie was working 7 days a week and kept herself busy all the time. In September the girls went to Germany for a long weekend. Kerrie actually spent most of the time hanging out with Nicky since Kian’s brother was also there visiting. In the beginning of October the guys were coming to Boston for a three week break. Jean and Kerrie still were not talking that much since Kerrie was still talking to John. Two days before the guys were coming Kerrie sat around the house with Thiago,
John and Jean’s ex, Danny. They were watching the Red Sox playing the Angels for the ALDS and were in game 3. The Sox won the first 2 games and only needed 1 more to go to the ALCS. The phone rang and Thiago answered it. ‘Hello?’ ‘Hi Thiago, is Kerrie there?’ ‘Yea, but she’s pretty engrossed in the baseball game.’ ‘How they doing?’ ‘Good, almost over. Hopefully we’ll get to face the Yankees again. Here’s Kerrie.’ He went to hand the phone to her but Danny grabbed it. ‘Is this Kian?’ ‘Yea, who’s this?’ ‘Danny, I can’t wait to meet you guys.’ ‘Who are you?’ ‘You mean to say she hasn’t talked about me?’ ‘Well... no.’ ‘I’m John’s best friend and room mate. I used to date Jean.’ ‘Oh yea, she did mention you before.’ ‘Anyway just wanted to say hi and you better not break her heart or I’ll break your legs.’ John started laughing in the background as Kerrie grabbed the phone. ‘Kian, I’m sorry about him. He’s so drunk.’ ‘Is John there?’ ‘Yea, we’re all Sox fans we have to celebrate.’ ‘Oh ok, I just wanted to tell you we’re flying in early.’ ‘When?’ ‘We’ll be there tomorrow afternoon.’ ‘That’s good. Do you know what time?’ ‘I think around 2.’ ‘Ok, I get out at 2 but I’ll see if I can get out early.’ ‘Don’t worry about it we’ll take a cab. Hang on we’re going to get in at 2:30.’ ‘I can get there by then. Is Jean gonna come too?’ ‘Naww. She has school.’ ‘I’ll have Danny and John come with me then so we can get all you guys here.’ ‘I’ll let you finish the game. I’ll see you tomorrow.’ ‘See yea then.’ ‘I love you.’ ‘Yea, you too. Bye.’ She clicked off the phone and finished watching the game. The Sox won and the four of them freaked out spilling beer all over the floor.

Ch 22

The next day Kerrie met John and Danny at the airport. They waited by the terminal. A few minutes later the guys came off the plane. Kerrie introduced everyone then they split up into cars. Kerrie, Kian, Nicky went in her SUV along with most of the bags. In Danny’s Lexus was him, John, Shane, Bryan, and Mark. When they got to Kerrie’s house Jean was sitting on the steps. She saw Danny and her jaw dropped. ‘What is he doing here?’ ‘Danny is a real friend, and I heard the real story about the break-up.’ Jean stood up. ‘How about we go inside?’ Danny said stuttering. They all went inside and everyone sat around the kitchen and living room. ‘This should be interesting.’ John said grinning. ‘We’ve been friends for years.’ ‘Friends? Please. Bryan, I think you should hear this.’ ‘What is going on?’ ‘Danny is one of the few decent guys around here and you had to cheat on him.’ ‘Me cheat on him? He’s the one that had another girlfriend.’ ‘I never had another girlfriend. I was completely serious about us being together and you had to run around with Joe.’ ‘We weren’t completely exclusive.’ ‘Yes we were. I was going to ask you to marry me and I found you in bed with Joe.’ ‘We were having problems and you never wanted to spend time with me-’ 'Here you go, lying again. You told Kerrie the same story, she knew that something else had to have happened.’ ‘We were practically broken up.’ ‘John and Kerrie, were we broken up in January?’ ‘Nope.’ John said from his spot on the couch. ‘Wasn’t it February?’ Kerrie asked. ‘We officially broke up in February but I found out about them in January.’ ‘Ok, I sept with Joe a few times.’ ‘Hold up.’ Bryan said getting up. ‘What else did you lie to me about? Jean, you said that you broke up with Danny cause he cheated on you.’ ‘Did I? Umm... yea I’m gonna go.’ She said walking to the door and hurrying out. ‘That was fucking awesome!’ John said clapping. Kerrie just turned and looked at him. ‘What? She was always giving me shit and being a bitch all the time. Kerrie, she had no right to tell him that you might be pregnant after what we went through.’ ‘This is turning into a freaking soap opera, I’m out.’ Mark said walking to the kitchen. Bryan soon followed him as did Danny and Shane. Nicky sat in his chair unable to move as Kerrie turned a bright shade of red and tears started to weld up. ‘John, we said we were never going to talk about that. You know how hard it was for me.’ ‘It was hard on me too, especially keeping it in for this long. You know I wanted that baby just as much as you did.’ ‘John, stop. I can’t.’ Kerrie said crying as she walked into her bedroom and slammed the door. Kian and Nicky both sat there shocked as Danny poked his head in. ‘I think we should go.’ Danny said coming out of the kitchen fully. ‘Jesus Doherty, why didn’t you just stay in the room instead of listening through the door.’ ‘Hey, that was none of my business. Are you coming or not?’ John looked at Nicky who nodded. ‘I guess I should. Shit, now I feel terrible that I did that.’ John reluctantly followed Danny out the door and Kayte came in. ‘Who died?’ She asked looking at everyone’s glum faces. ‘Umm... let’s see if I can remember it right.’ Mark said. ‘Oh yes, Kerrie and Danny exposed Jean as a cheater. Then if I heard this correctly John and Kerrie were fighting about a child they lost.’ ‘Oh shit.’ Kayte said walking down the hallway and walking into Kerrie’s room as they all heard the door lock.

Ch 23

For the next 2 hours everyone sat around the living room watching TV as Kayte tried to talk to Kerrie who was crying her eyes out. Kian was staring at the TV not knowing what to do. When Kayte came out of the room Nicky got out of the chair and slowly opened the door. ‘Nicky, I’m a mess. Don’t look at me.’ She mumbled pulling a pillow over her face. ‘I’m sorry it happened like that.’ Kerrie sat up hugging her pillow. ‘Don’t be. I should have gotten it out long ago. The only people who knew where John and Kayte. I didn’t want to tell my parents cause of my condition. I won’t give you all the details but when I want to have children it will be hard since if I get pregnant my body can’t regulate my insulin. This was diagnosed when I was 16 but a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant it was too late. Even though I went to the doctor I didn’t start the treatment in time and I lost the baby.’ She continued sobbing and Nicky held her. After about a half an hour Kerrie feel asleep. He tucked her in and then went into the living room. Kayte didn’t say much about what happened but she offered to have Bryan and Mark stay in her parent’s house in the guest rooms. The three of them headed off as Thiago came in. He knew something was wrong and went right down to his room. Shane headed off to bed as Kian and Nicky sat on the couch looking at the TV. ‘Is she ok?’ Kian finally asked after a long silence. ‘Not really, but she will be after a long sleep.’ ‘That was crazy. Now I feel like an idiot for rushing over here two months ago ready to ask her to marry me.’ Nicky’s mouth dropped. ‘That’s what happened when you came over here?’ ‘Jean told me she was pregnant. Arrr...’ Kian said putting his head in his hands. ‘Are you in love with her?’ ‘Completely, since the day I met her. She has that glow about her that makes her seem like an angel and she’s the nicest girl I ever met.’ Nicky just nodded as he felt his anger boiling. ‘Kian, maybe you should sleep out here tonight.’ ‘Yea, that will be best.’ Kian got settled as Nicky wandered around the kitchen wasting time. Once Kian was asleep on the couch Nicky walked down to Kerrie’s room. She was still asleep. Kian was right she did look like an angel. Nicky looked down at her and moved some hair off her face. ‘If I could only tell you how much I love you.’ He muttered walking out the door. The next morning Shane woke up early so he shook Nicky. ‘Nix.’ ‘What?’ ‘Get up, I’m not going downstairs alone.’ ‘Take a shower then wake me up.’ He said rolling over. ‘I already did.’ ‘Fine.’ Nicky was already dressed in PJ pants and a tee shirt lead the way down the stairs. Thiago was sitting in the kitchen reading the paper. ‘Hey guys, no need to tell me what happened last night. Kerrie told me already.’ ‘Where is she?’ ‘Went to go get breakfast, trust me she’s fine. That girl is a fighter.’ A few minutes later Kerrie came back with donuts and coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. She looked in the living room to see PJ curled up next to Kian on the couch. ‘Morning.’ She said putting down the box of coffee.

Ch 24

‘I was thinking we could go up to New Hampshire for the day.’ ‘That would be cool, what are we going to do?’ ‘Well I was thinking we could walk around Hampton Beach then having lunch up there. We could stop at Memories for ice cream and go to the mall on the way back. I called Kayte and she is going to take my SUV and I’ll drive the convertible.’ ‘Thiago, are you going?’ ‘Nope, I have to go to work in a few hours.’ ‘Nicky, you should go get ready Kayte and the guys should be here in a little bit.’ Shane sat next to Thiago and poured himself some coffee and got a donut. Kerrie went into the living room and woke up Kian. ‘Hey Kian, get up.’ ‘What time is it?’ He asked sitting up. ‘Almost 10. Come on get ready we’re all going to New Hampshire for the day.’ ‘Are you up to it?’ ‘I’m fine.’ She said standing up. ‘Come on PJ, let’s go for a walk.’ Kerrie put PJ’s leash on and headed out the door. A few minutes later Kayte, Mark, and Bryan came walking in the house. Nicky finished getting ready so everyone was waiting for Kian who just started getting ready. ‘Where’s Kerrie?’ ‘Walking PJ.’ ‘Ok, I’m going to go pick up the surprise.’ She said grabbing a set of keys. ‘What surprise?’ Shane said. ‘A surprise for-’ ‘Kayte, don’t tell.’ Kerrie said coming into the house. Kayte nodded and headed out the door. ‘Everyone almost ready?’ Mark yawned over a cup of coffee as Bryan and Shane just nodded. Everyone started outside as Kayte pulled up with Shanna in the car. Nicky looked shocked as she jumped out of the car. ‘Hey Shanna.’ He said hugging her. ‘This was a very good surprise.’ Nicky said half smiling. ‘Come on get in.’ Kayte said motioning to Mark, Shane, and Bryan. They hopped in the car. ‘I’ll race yea.’ Kayte said. ‘Go ahead, you’ll need a start.’ Kerrie said as she hurried over to her car. Shanna laughed as she followed Nicky into the backseat. ‘You guys better put your seat belts on this girl can speed.’ Shanna said as Kerrie pulled out of the garage and sped up the hill and turned the corner. Within a few minutes they were on the highway next to Kayte. Kerrie put down the roof and cranked up the music as she hurried ahead of her sister. About 40 minutes later they were at Hampton. Kerrie parked in a lot near the beach. Kayte arrived 15 minutes later glaring at her sister. ‘You suck.’ She said getting out of the car and throwing the keys at her sister. ‘Poor loser, you know the stang is faster.’ ‘Whatever, were we going?’ Kian was looking a little green. ‘Umm... guys Kian doesn’t look to good.’ Shanna said. ‘Kian, I’m sorry. Come on let’s get you a water.’ Kerrie said leading the way to a stand. For the next hour they walked around until Kerrie coxed everyone into playing laser tag. Shane and Bryan sat out and waited upstairs. They settled on girls vs. boys since there were 3 of each. The guys got the base against the walls while the girls went by the door. ‘They are gonna get whipped!’ Kayte said laughing as the music started. The girls split up and took a pathway. Kian, Nicky, and Mark really didn’t understand the directions but they wanted to win. They stood near the charger as the girls got them from each side. They had to recharge as did the guys. ‘This sucks, were getting killed.’ Kian said as he charged the gun. ‘You two stay here.’ He said walking down one of the pathways. A few second later Kian came running back to charge up again. ‘Damn, we suck.’ He said walking over to the guys. 10 minutes later the lights came on and they all met at the door. ‘I know we sucked.’ Kian mumbled opening the door. ‘Aw... is Ki a sore loser?’ He turned a bright shade of red as he walked ahead of the group.

Ch 25

They stopped for lunch at Sabo’s. ‘How about we head to Memories after?’ ‘Yum, that place is great.’ Kayte said finishing her soda. ‘Ice cream already?’ Kian whined. ‘Ki, you’ve know Kerrie for how long? You should know by now that ice cream is her life.’ Shanna said laughing as Nicky smirked. They all headed to the car as Nicky went shotgun as Kian shot him a look. They arrived at Memories about 15 minutes later and Kerrie hurried up to order with Nicky at her heels. After getting their ice cream they sat at a table and started talking. Kian came over a few minutes later and was completely lost in the conversation so he joined everyone else at another table. On the way home Shanna drove the SUV for Kayte who wasn’t feeling well. Kian fell asleep in the backseat of the stang. Everyone decided against going to the mall and went home to hang out before the game was going to be on. Nina came over the house and was talking to Kerrie about what happened with her and Jean. She was shocked to hear the whole story and ended up staying for the game. The Sox lost to the Yankees in NY and once the game was over everyone noticed Shane and Nina were missing. Mark started laughing as Bryan crept up the stairs to the guest room as everyone waited at the bottom of the stairs. ‘They are getting it on.’ Bryan said coming down the stairs. ‘Bry, you perv. you better not have been watching.’ Nicky said joking. ‘No way I just heard it.’ Kian had gone into Kerrie’s room and had fallen asleep. Bryan, Mark, and Kayte headed back to her parents house. Kerrie and Nicky were sitting on the couch watching TV and talking. Kerrie ended up falling asleep with her head on Nicky’s shoulder. In the morning Kerrie woke up first and went to make coffee. Nicky woke up when he heard Nina and Shane coming down the stairs. ‘Look who got lucky.’ Kerrie said laughing. ‘Shut up you.’ Nina said looking through her purse for her smokes. ‘Here.’ Nicky said handing her the pack that was sitting on the counter. Shane was still half asleep as Kerrie handed him a mug of coffee. ‘Thanks.’ He said sitting at the table. When Nina finished her cig she headed home to get ready for the softball game that day. Kerrie went to get dressed then woke up Kian as both Shane and Nicky got ready go. ‘How come you didn’t sleep in here last night?’ ‘Fell asleep on the floor.’ She lied as Kian got changed. Everyone arrived at the field a half an hour later and Kerrie turned her back when she saw Jean coming over with her equipment. ‘I’m not going to deal with her today.’ Kerrie said throwing a ball to Nina as Kayte came over. Bryan stopped to talk to Jean as they both smoked. Danny came walking over without John who also played on the team. ‘Crap, we’re one guy short.’ Kerrie said as she walked over to the group. ‘Nix, you wanna play? We need one more guy.’ ‘Sure.’ He said getting up and walking over to the field. Jean played left field, Kayte played first, Nina pitched, Danny played short stop, Nicky was playing short right, Kerrie was playing second, Kevin was playing third, Chris was catching, Joe was playing center field, and Christine was playing right field. The first inning was fast and then they were up to bat. The order was Danny, Nina, Chris, Kerrie, Kayte, Kevin, Joe, Nicky, and Jean. Danny hit a single and Nina struck out. Chris hit a double and Kerrie hit a single. Kayte was forced out as well as Kevin. The rest of the game flew by with their team losing 6 to 4.

Ch 26

After the game Jean approached Kerrie who turned away and starting walking to her car. ‘Excuse me, we need to talk.’ Jean said grabbing Kerrie’s arm as she turned and pushed her away. ‘No we don’t.’ ‘You make me out to be a slut but look at you.’ ‘What about me?’ ‘Your sleeping with Kian when your in love with Nicky.’ ‘Me in love with Nicky? He’s been my best friend since you screwed me over.’ Kerrie said fuming. ‘Right, every time you’re around him you light up. I haven’t seen that happen with Kian.’ ‘How would you know?’ ‘It’s obvious you don’t love Kian.’ ‘How about you just leave me and my life alone?’ Kerrie said with her hands in a fist. ‘Whatever, I think everyone knows the truth about your feelings anyway.’ Kayte and Nina held Kerrie back as Danny got in-between them. ‘Haven’t you caused enough trouble in everyone’s life? Why don’t you leave us all alone?’ Jean turned and grabbed her bag and walked away. Kerrie took off in a run and Kayte went after her. ‘Jean is such a bitch. I wouldn’t worry about anything she said.’ Danny said getting his stuff together. As he headed to the car Nicky followed him. ‘Was she ok after the other night?’ ‘No, she was crying all night.’ ‘He was upset about it too.’ ‘If he really loved her he never would have done that. It broke my heart to see her like that.’ ‘Is that true what Jean said?’ ‘I know she doesn’t love Kian.’ ‘I’m sure things will work themselves out.’ Danny got into his car as Kayte came over to Nicky. ‘She left, here are keys. She’s going to Mystic Lake. Get on 93 over there and take the exit that says route 16 then follow the signs. I know she’ll talk to you.’ ‘Thanks.’ He got in the car and followed the directions. Kian came running over to Kayte as he saw Nicky drive away. ‘He’s going to her?’ ‘I know she will talk to him.’ ‘Does she love him?’ ‘I think so.’ Kian just shook his head as the others came over. Jean was standing by her car looking at everyone. ‘Bitch, you better get out of here before I kick your ass for my sister.’ Kayte said glaring at her. ‘I did your sister a favor. I know it was cruel but when she told me off it made me see things differently.’ Jean got into her car as everyone else stood there. ‘Come on lets all try to squeeze into my car.’ Nina piped in. Somehow the 6 of them fit into her car and they all waited at Kerrie’s house. ’Hopefully that will be all the drama for the week.’ Nina said flipping through TV stations. Kian was packing his stuff and trying not to let the others see how he was feeling. He wrote a letter then called a cab to get to the airport. Bryan was also going to head back, he was home sick already. Nina and Shane were sitting on the couch next to each other acting as if nothing happened last night. ‘So, are you two an item?’ Mark asked raising an eyebrow. ‘No way, it was just sex.’ Nina said. ‘Shane, is this true? About 15 minutes later Nicky found Kerrie sitting on a rock by the water. ‘Kayte told you, right?' ‘Yea.' Nicky sat next to her. ‘Do you want me to go?' ‘Surprisingly, no.' She said wiping her tears. Nicky wrapped his arms around her as she rested her head on his chest. After a few minutes Kerrie calmed down. ‘Thanks for coming.' ‘That's what friends are for.' ‘What happened after I left?' ‘I didn't see anything but I bet Kayte said something to Jean.' ‘I just can't believe she did that. She has no idea what's going on in my head.' ‘Do you love Kian?' There was a long silence. ‘I keep trying but there's nothing there.' She said softly. ‘You should talk to him, because he really cares a lot about you.' ‘I know, that's why it's so hard. Nicky, you can head back I need a little time alone.' ‘Ok.' He said getting up. Kerrie sat looking at the water as she heard the car drive away. For a little over an hour she sat on the rock thinking about how confusing things were now. It was starting to get dark when she headed home. When she arrived at her house everyone was sitting around eating pizza. Kerrie went to her room and found Kian's note sitting on her bed. Dear Kerrie, I've gone back to Ireland. I can't be the one to end our relationship so I'm giving you time to find your true feelings. I know you and Nicky share a bond that we don't have and I feel that you are in love with him. You have given me many happy memories and I want you to be happy. She sat there shocked, Kerrie knew Kian was a fighter just like her and it didn't seem like something he would do. She took a shower then joined everyone to watch the game. Ch 28

‘When did Kian leave?' ‘When we got back from the game. Bryan also went home.' She nodded. ‘What did the note say?' Nina asked sipping a beer. ‘A lot.' She said quietly. Nina went to say something when Kayte shot her a look. The Sox lost again and everyone went to bed after the game. In the morning Kerrie woke up and went to work. Shanna came into work smiling as the store opened. ‘It's nice to see someone's happy.' Sharon, the other tech said. ‘I had a great night, Rena and I went out to eat and Todd asked me out on a date.' She said grinning. ‘Todd, the waiter?' Kerrie asked looking up from the compound she was mixing. ‘Yea, isn't that so exciting?' ‘Yea, but what about Nicky?' ‘Kerrie, we were just friends. He's completely in love with you. I could tell the first time I met him.' Shanna said as Kerrie just froze. ‘Kian went back to Ireland yesterday. Jean and I got into another fight and she told everyone I was in love with Nicky.' ‘This is so cute. Why aren't you two together?' Sharon asked. ‘Kerrie was dating Kian who just went home.' ‘Kerrie, trust me he is a keeper. When you go home tell him how you feel.' Shanna said. Sharon nodded as a women started coughing at the register. Sharon turned and gave the women a look. ‘Can you give us a minute? Our pharmacist is thinking about one of most important decisions of her life.' The women stood there shocked as both Shanna and Kerrie cracked a smile. Shanna went over to help the women while Kerrie finished up mixing the cream and ointment together. At 12 Meeta came in to work and the girls got Kerrie to go home. When she walked through the door she saw a note. “Ker, we all went to the movies. Nicky is still asleep. See you when we get back ~ Kayte.” Kerrie tossed her coat and bag on the chair and headed up the stairs to the guest room. She opened the door slowly to see Nicky sleeping peacefully. Kerrie sat on the edge of the bed and watched him for a few minutes before he woke up. ‘Hey, what are you doing home?' ‘The girls wanted me to come home. My mind wasn't at work.' ‘Were you thinking about Kian?' ‘No, about us.' ‘Us?' He asked sitting up. ‘Jean was right I am in love with you.' She said quickly. Nicky's face lit up. ‘That's a big relief. All along I thought I was the only one who felt that way.' They heard the door open. ‘Kerrie and Nicky!' Kayte yelled from the bottom of the stairs. ‘Yea?' Kerrie said walking to the door. ‘Never mind, we're going up to mom and dad's house. We'll see you guys later.' With that Kayte and the guys headed out the door. Kerrie went downstairs to answer the ringing phone and Nicky went to take a shower.

Ch 29

Kerrie answered the ringing phone. ‘Hello?' There was a long pause. ‘Anyone there?' After 2 more seconds she hung up and went to sit on the couch. Kerrie reluctantly picked up and phone and dialed Jean's number and her machine picked up. ‘Hi Jean, it's me. I just wanted to say thanks for putting me in my place yesterday. I know I shouldn't have gotten involved in your business with Danny but I guess I was upset abut you telling Kian I was pregnant. I'm sure Bryan told you abut what happened between John and me that night. Thanks.' She hung up the phone as it rang again. ‘Hello?' When there was no answer she got mad. ‘Cut it with the jokes, who is this?' ‘Umm... it's John.' ‘I have nothing to say to you.' ‘I just want to say I'm sorry. Danny told me that you might be with Nicky.' ‘That is none of your business. I have to go.' With that she hung up as Nicky came down the stairs. ‘Who was that?' ‘John.' ‘Oh, what did he have to say?' ‘Not anything good, he was just being nosey.' ‘Did you talk to Kian?' ‘Not yet.' ‘We can tell him together when ever you’re ready.' ‘I think I should do it on my own.’ Nicky nodded and sat next to her. The phone rang again and Nicky grabbed it before her. ‘Hello?’ ‘Nicky, is that you?’ ‘Yea, hi Kian.’ ‘Is Kerrie there? I called work and they said she went home.’ Nicky looked at Kerrie and she nodded. ‘Here she is.’ Kerrie took the phone. ‘Hi Kian.’ ‘I just wanted to say sorry for leaving in such a rush.’ ‘It’s ok I understand.’ There was a long silence before she finally spoke. ‘Jean was right.’ She said softly. Nicky walked into the kitchen. ‘I am in love with Nicky, I’m sorry.’ ‘I knew deep down inside.’ He mumbled. ‘At least we’re being honest. I have to go.’ With that he hung up and she sat there. The next day we all went to her parent’s house for supper. Her mother was thrilled Kian wasn’t there and assumed she was with Nicky even though it wasn’t official. After dinner they all went to the Warren Tavern to watch the game. Mark, Kayte, and Shane headed home early since the Sox were losing badly. ‘Come on guys, we can’t give up after only 4 games.’ She said as the game ended after almost 6 hours. They walked back to her house. ‘You would never know how big of a baseball fan you are unless someone sees you watching a game.’ She just smirked. Kerrie was about to walk into her bedroom when Nicky stopped her. ‘What are we now? I want to take you out and for you to be my girlfriend.’ ‘How about we go out to eat and shopping tomorrow?’ ‘Sounds good, we’re gonna sleep in right?’ He asked nodding. ‘Hell yea. Good night.’ She said kissing his cheek. ‘Good night, love.’ He said going up the stairs. The next day they went out on their first date and everything seemed perfect. Kerrie had to work that night so Nicky brought down supper and a small TV to watch the game. No one came in so Kerrie sent Shanna home early and at 10 Kerrie closed the pharmacy and they headed home to watch the rest of the game. The Sox won and Kerrie knew they were going to take the Yankees to game 7 again.

Ch 28

The next two weeks flew by, the Sox won the World Series and Nicky got them tickets to game 1 at Fenway against the Cardinals. Nicky and Kerrie spent all their time together but still hadn’t had sex. Both of them agreed to take things slow. Almost a month later Kerrie went to France to see Nicky. She met him at the arena but froze when she saw Kian looking at her. He slowly walked up to her. ‘I’m happy for you and Nicky, you two are great together.’ ‘Thanks, I’m sorry for hurting you.’ ‘Let’s not talk about that. I hope we can at least be civil and move on.’ She nodded as Nicky came over. ‘Great you’re here just in time for the show. Come on.’ He led her towards the side of the stage then headed to his spot. She watched the show and had a great time. The next day Bryan had a press conference to announce that he was leaving Westlife. Kerrie was surprised to see Jean there. ‘Hey Ker, sorry I haven’t called you back I’ve been super busy.’ ‘Are you here visiting Bryan?’ ‘Actually I’m moving here to live with him.’ ‘Wow congrats.’ ‘You too. I hear you and Nicky are together. I’m so happy for you, you guys look great together.’ ‘Thanks.’ ‘I better get going. I’ll give you a call once I get settled in.’ ‘Ok, bye.’ Jean wandered off through the crowd as Kerrie waited for Nicky. After the conference Westlife had to answer a few questions about the future of the group. The tour would go on as would the group. Nicky, Kerrie, Shane, and Shane’s girlfriend, Gillian, all went out to eat. Shane and Gillian had just gotten engaged and had been dating on and off since they were teenagers. Once supper was done they sat at the bar and talked for awhile. It was close to midnight when Kerrie went back to the hotel with Nicky. They reached their floor and started to their rooms. Nicky stopped to give her a good night kiss but she stopped him. ‘Stay with me.’ She said softly as he nodded. Kerrie quickly opened the door and they both went in. She closed the door and Nicky pushed her against it as their lips met in a passionate kiss. Kerrie pulled his shirt over his head as they tossed their shoes to the side. She tossed her shirt next to his as they went towards the bed. Nicky pulled her closer to him removing her bra. As they kissed she worked on his pants as the dropped to the floor followed by his boxers. He un-zipped her skirt and it fell to her ankles followed by her underwear. She pushed him on the bed as he pulled her with him. As their tongues battled she grabbed him and he hardened even more. Kerrie pulled away and he slowly entered her as they both let out a moan. Their bodies fit perfectly together as they moved in unison. Within minutes they both came moaning each other’s name. ‘That was well worth the wait.’ Kerrie said kissing him.
