Ch 1
Kerrie looked at the board in front of her. For the past 6 months she had spent a lot of time using the board to communicate with a spirit that insisted she was a reincarnation of his wife. The spirits name was Andrew or Andy as he preferred to be called. Kerrie moved into this apartment 9 months before and right away she didn’t feel right. Things kept happening with the lights and she constantly felt as though someone was lying in the bed next to her. Most women would have moved out right way but Kerrie was different, this intrigued her and she wanted to find out the cause. Kerrie was Wiccan and knew about Ouija boards but after talking to some “ghost hunters” online she bought a Psychic Circle board. That had been 6 months ago and now at least 3 times a week she spent an hour or so “talking” to Andy. Andy told her that his family had lived on a farm on the area her apartment building was built on. Kerrie checked out that information and found it to be true. The Johnson family owned a small farm on the land in the late 1700s. She also found out that Andy was born in 1780 and died in 1808 just like he told her. Kerrie tried to find out information about his wife but only found her name was Nancy she died in childbirth in 1800. Two of Kerrie’s friends Sue and Lisa sat in on several of the sessions with the board and were surprised at what he was telling them. Occasionally his brothers James and Donald came through. Donald also lived on the farm while James was a lawyer and did some traveling. Today was Halloween and Andy promised to tell her something important. Sue and Lisa came over wanting to know the exciting news. The girls started the circle and right away Andy gave them a date, February 5th. He told them that was the date he and Nancy had meet and this year Kerrie would meet someone. Kerrie was so surprised that she didn’t know what else to say or ask. Lisa right away took over asking where they’d meet. Andy said that the three of them would be on vacation and they would meet him in a club or bar. When the girls ended the circle an hour later Kerrie was still in a daze. ‘Kerrie, this is great. Maybe the guy is Andy.’ Sue said happily. Kerrie shrugged and sat down on the couch staring out the window. Over the past 6 months she had fallen in love with Andy, he always made her laugh and feel safe. After the girls left Kerrie opened the board again and tried to talk to Andy but got no response. This went on for 2 months and Kerrie’s personality changed completely. She never wanted to go out anymore and she spent a lot of time online reading about spirits and reincarnation. Kerrie even tried having a medium come over to the house but Andy didn’t come through. Two weeks before Christmas Sue showed up at Kerrie’s house. ‘Come on. I want to show you something.’ ‘Sue, I’m not really in the mood.’ ‘Come on it’s worth it.’ Kerrie got ready and followed Sue as they walked to a rather large cemetery. ‘I found the Johnson family mausoleum.’ Kerrie walked over to the building and put her hand on the door but stopped. ‘Sue, I miss him. I know I shouldn’t he’s not even alive or anything.’ Kerrie said breaking down in tears as her friend hugged her. ‘I also have another surprise.’ Sue pulled out a picture from her pocket. ‘This is of a painting that said the Johnson family 1798. I thought you’d like to see it.’ Kerrie stared at the picture. ‘That’s him.’ She said pointing to the blonde haired man in the front. Sue nodded. ‘Justin looked it up for me online. It was in a museum in town but there was a fire and the picture was destroyed but a woman who worked there remembered it and knew all of their names. The man in the back in their father and that’s their mother. That’s Donald and their two sisters.’ Kerrie kept staring at the picture and smiled. ‘He looked just like I thought he would.’
Ch 2
After Christmas Kerrie was starting to get back to her normal self even though Andy never came through on the board anymore. Once Donald came through and spelt out Byrne. When Kerrie asked him what he meant he wouldn’t answer. Lisa who just got a new job as a travel agent started to plan a trip for the girls. Not even thinking about the date she planned for the girls to go to London in February for two weeks from the 2nd to the 15th. When she told Kerrie she refused to go. She thought the trip should be local but after some coxing she agreed to go to London. When it was time for the girls to leave Kerrie put the picture Sue gave her in her bag and they left for the airport. After a long flight they arrived in London and got a cab to the hotel. The girls took a short nap then went out to see the city. As they walked into a music store the three girls stopped when they spotted a large posted on the wall. ‘Oh my....’ Kerrie trailed off looking at the poster. ‘Kerrie, that’s him. That’s Andy.’ Sue said pointing to one of the men. ‘Wow... who the heck is Westlife? Should we know who they are?’ Lisa mumbled grabbing a magazine with them on the cover. ‘Do you girls need help with anything?’ A man said walking over. ‘Yes, do you have a Westlife CD?’ Sue asked. ‘Which one? They have 9 CDs out.’ He showed Sue where the CDs were. ‘Thanks.’ She looked at the CDs at Lisa showed Kerrie the magazine. ‘His name is Nicky Bryne.’ Kerrie didn’t answer but walked out of the store and to a park across the street. She sat on a bench as Lisa and Sue came over. ‘Kerrie, we’re sorry.’ Lisa said sitting next to him. ‘What do you have to be sorry about? I’ve been a fool and assumed that I could actually find happiness out of this.’ She mumbled looking at the ground. ‘Come on let’s go get something to eat.’ Kerrie shook her head. ‘I’m not really hungry.’ She said softly. ‘Let’s go get some chocolate or ice cream.’ Sue said as Kerrie nodded. Lisa and Sue tried to get Kerrie to talk but she remained quiet. After having some ice cream the girls went back to the hotel. As they walked closer to the hotel they noticed a crowd of girls outside. ‘Who are you waiting for?’ Sue asked one of them. ‘Westlife is checking in here today. They’re here for some concerts.’ Lisa looked at Kerrie who quickly walked inside. After getting through the door they were asked to show their room keys due to increased security. Kerrie hurried onto the elevator and after getting to their floor she rushed into their suet and went into her room locking the door. Lisa and Sue made it upstairs a few minutes later to find her door locked. ‘Kerrie, come out please.’ Sue said knocking on her door. ‘I’m gonna take a nap.’ Kerrie replied. ‘Ok, we’ll be out here watching some TV.’ Sue said joining Lisa on the couch. ‘I feel like a jerk now. We pressured her to come here with us and all of this stuff.’ Sue said sadly. ‘Sue, there was no way we’d know that the guy Andy talked about was going to be a huge star over here. We can’t blame ourselves or anyone else. I’m sure things will work them self out.’ ‘I hope so. I hate seeing Kerrie like this. She’s always so strong but I don’t think she can take another blow from a guy after the whole Jason thing.’ Jason had been Kerrie’s fiancée who two months before the wedding called everything off because he was hung up on his ex-wife. That had been 2 and a half years before when Kerrie was in college. When she graduated and moved into her own place the girls hoped she had finally moved on and then the whole Andy thing started.
Ch 3
Three hours later Kerrie emerged from her room with her hair in a messy bun dressed in her pjs. ‘Feeling better?’ Sue asked. ‘No.’ Kerrie mumbled sitting on a chair. ‘Spaz, don’t get hung up on this, on him.’ ‘I’m not. I’m more pissed at myself for believing this bull.’ ‘Why don’t we go downstairs for some drinks then we can go get some take out for dinner?’ ‘I don’t really want to get dressed again.’ Kerrie said resting her head against the back of the chair. ‘Kerrie, we’re here for 2 weeks and we’re not gonna let you stay in the room all the time.’ Lisa said firmly. She had always been the “mother” of the group. ‘Fine, I’ll go get ready.’ Kerrie grumbled walking back into her room to get some clothes then went to take a shower. ‘How can you always do that? She never listens to me.’ Sue said going to freshen up. ‘I have no idea.’ Lisa said laughing. Kerrie came out of the bathroom 45 minutes later looking refreshed even with a bit of make-up on. ‘Look at you.’ Sue said grinning. Kerrie slid on a pair of heels. Her hair was straightened and she had on a pair of black dress pants and a fitted sweater. ‘Let’s leave our coats here. I’ll come up and get them.’ Sue said as the girls left the room. When the girls arrived at the bar down stairs it was pretty crowded but they managed to get a table in the corner. Lisa went to get the drinks as Sue and Kerrie sat down. ‘We should have went somewhere hot.’ Kerrie said looking out the window to see it was raining. ‘I was thinking the same thing.’ Sue said shivering as a door was opened. Lisa put their drinks on the table as the girls started talking. They decided against going out to get take out because of the weather, they could get room service when they went back upstairs. Kerrie finished her drink quickly and got up to get another one. Sue nudged Lisa as Kerrie started over to the bar. ‘That’s him.’ Sue hissed as Kerrie stood one man over from him. He was chatting to one of the other guys in the group and right away they noticed Kerrie standing there. Lisa and Sue watched intently as the man next to her moved leaving her standing next to the blonde. As Kerrie turned with her drink she took a deep breath seeing him staring at her. She managed a half smile and walked back to the table in shock. ‘That was him.’ She mouthed climbing back onto her chair. ‘He’s hotter in person.’ Sue said giggling. ‘He’s still looking over here.’ Lisa mumbled. Kerrie who had her back to him tried to remain calm. Sue finished her drink next so she got up. ‘You better not say anything.’ Kerrie said softly. ‘What am I gonna say? Hey are you Andy?’ Sue said shaking her head as Kerrie hit her arm. After standing at the bar for a minute the other blonde standing next to Nicky said something to her and she nodded. She motioned for Lisa and Kerrie to come over. Lisa got up right away and she practically had to drag Kerrie over. ‘I’m gonna kill you.’ Kerrie muttered so only Sue could hear her. ‘Girls, this is Nicky and Kian. Guys, these are my friends Lisa and Kerrie.’ Nicky extended his hand to Kerrie. As their hands touched it was like electricity and she blushed looking at the ground. ‘Sue said you girls are visiting London. Where are you from?’ Kian asked noticing Nicky was staring at the red head again. ‘We’re all from the States, Boston actually.’ Lisa said. ‘Want to join us back at our table?’ Sue said. ‘Sure.’ Kian, Sue, and Lisa started back to the table as Kerrie and Nicky followed after. Kian asked the girls questions as Kerrie was extremely quiet. ‘So... umm... Nicky, are you single?’ Sue asked as Kerrie looked up for a moment. ‘I am.’ ‘That’s great. Isn’t it Kerrie?’ Lisa asked as Kerrie turned a bright shade of red again. ‘What to you girls do for a living?’ ‘I work at a travel agency, Sue works as a nanny, and Kerrie is a high school history teacher.’ Lisa said. ‘When I went to school we never had attractive teachers.’ Nicky said grinning at Kerrie. Kian and Nicky talked about Ireland as the girls talked about how they met in college. Kian and Sue went to go get another round of drinks and Lisa excused herself to go to the bathroom leaving Kerrie and Nicky alone.
Ch 4
‘How are you liking London so far?’ Nicky asked breaking an aquard silence. ‘It’s ok, the weather is similar to Boston now so it doesn’t feel like that much of a vacation.’ ‘It’s a great city.’ Two brown haired men came walking over to the table. ‘Shane and Mark, this is Kerrie. Kerrie these are my other two band mates.’ ‘Nice to meet yea.’ Shane said smiling. ‘Nix, we’re heading out to get something to eat. Want to join us?’ Mark asked. ‘I think I’m gonna stay here for awhile. Kian’s at the bar if you want to check with him.’ ‘Ok, see yea later.’ The two men walked over to the bar as Nicky looked into Kerrie’s eyes. ‘Have you ever had the feeling like you’ve met someone before?’ Kerrie nodded. ‘That’s what this feels like. Not to sound weird but it feels like I’ve met you before.’ Kerrie smiled. ‘I know what you mean.’ Sue, Kian, and Lisa came back to the table. ‘We’re gonna go eat. Are you two coming with us?’ Nicky and Kerrie shook their heads no. ‘Alright, we’ll see yea later.’ Lisa said as Kerrie nodded. ‘So... we’re alone now.’ Nicky said moving into the chair next to Kerrie as she smiled nervously. Kerrie and Nicky got more comfortable around each other as they continued to talk. After over two hours of talking Kerrie’s phone started ringing. She rolled her eyes as she saw her younger brother’s name. ‘Patrick, what do you want now?’ ‘Kerrie, glad I got yea. I want to know if the guys and I can watch the hockey game at your apartment.’ ‘Pat, aren’t you at college?’ ‘Well... I promised some of the guys a party and-’ ‘No, your not having a party at my apartment. You know how my neighbor’s are.’ ‘Spaz, come on We’ll keep it down.’ ‘No way, I let you and your friends have a party before and you trashed my place and I had to clean it myself.’ ‘Spaz, come on.’ ‘Patrick, I got to go.’ Kerrie clicked off the phone as Nicky laughed. ‘He seems persistent.’ ‘He just wants to show off to his friends. During the summer I went away with the girls for a long weekend and he trashed my apartment plus I got plenty of complaints from my neighbors.’ ‘You weren’t crazy when you were that age?’ ‘I got all that out of my system before I even went to college.’ Kerrie said smirking. ‘Ah.... I see a past party girl.’ ‘I think everyone has a bit of a party animal in them.’ ‘I know what yea mean.’ Nicky stopped talking and looked at his ringing phone. ‘It’s the lads.’ He said before answering. ‘Hello?’ ‘Nix, we’re going to a club. Are you two up for it?’ Nicky covered the phone and asked Kerrie if she wanted to go. When she nodded he told Shane they would be on their way soon. Both Nicky and Kerrie went to get their coats and were going to meet in the lobby in 5 minutes.
Ch 5
Kerrie walked into the room with a smile on her face. She slipped on her coat and went to go meet Nicky. Kerrie looked at her phone and saw Sue texted her. “How’s it going?” Kerrie laughed to herself and typed back. “Great, we talked the whole time.” ‘Ready to go?’ Nicky asked walking up to her. ‘Yup.’ ‘Come on I have a taxi out back.’ They walked out the back entrance and got into the cab. Nicky gave the driver the address of the club and grabbed Kerrie’s hand. They arrived at the club 10 minutes later. Nicky and Kerrie made their way inside. Sue waved at them as they walked into the VIP area. ‘Hey you two.’ Lisa said sipping her drink. ‘You missed it, an older lady was just putting the moves on Egan. It was hilarious.’ Mark said still laughing as Kian made a disgusted face. ‘That’s the last time I’m leaving this area tonight.’ Kian grumbled sipping his drink. ‘Want something to drink?’ Nicky asked as Kerrie nodded. ‘A rum and coke would be great.’ ‘Ok, be right back.’ Lisa winked as Sue pulled her onto the couch next to her. ‘Details.’ ‘Later on.’ ‘Leave us hanging that’s nice.’ She said grinning. ‘What are we gonna do tomorrow?’ Lisa said. ‘Let’s sleep in.’ ‘Typical, Kerrie.’ Sue said laughing. ‘Hey it’s a vacation we could as least relax.’ Nicky came back with their drinks. ‘Nicky, we were just talking about what to do tomorrow any ideas?’ Sue said as he handed Kerrie her drink. ‘We have a concert tomorrow night, you girls should come.’ ‘Where’s your concert?’ Lisa asked. ‘Wembley.’ ‘Very cool, what do you two think?’ Sue nodded as did Kerrie. ‘Great I’ll get you ladies tickets and passes to the show.’ Nicky typed some things into his phone and nodded. ‘They’ll be at the hotel when you get back.’ ‘Thanks, it should be fun.’ Kerrie said smiling. ‘There she is.’ Kian said panicing as he got up from the bar. Kian walked over to the couch and grabbed Sue’s hand. ‘Help’ He mouthed as she got up. The older woman came walking towards them as Sue pulled Kian into a kiss wrapping her arms around his neck. The woman gave them a dirty look and walked back to where she was. Nicky and Kerrie started laughing when they didn’t move apart. ‘Woohoo!’ Shane said clapping as Mark giggled. Kian and Sue moved apart both of their cheeks flushed. ‘Thanks.’ He mumbled walking back over to the bar.
